When it comes to income tax, a single person living in Belgium faces the heaviest burden out of all OECD countries. The tax rate for a Belgian single earner comes to 55.3 percent compared to 40.4 percent for a worker married with two children. In the United States , the income tax rate stands at 31.7 percent, according to a recent report from the OECD.

I would have thought the U.S. would have been lower down on this list.
What surprises me from seeing that chart is notwithstanding that Canadians support the health care system through their income tax, the Canadians pay less income tax than the Americans.

Canada may make more prudent use of the tax dollars they collect than we do.
I think that a much better comparison would be to match up taxes paid by each country vs what the taxes cover. Medical coverage IMO would change this graph considerably.
Disgusting spend half your working hours to feed Uncle Sam. I wonder how many Bernie supporters that are calling for higher taxes are on the lower end of the tax brackets or don't pay any at all.
Chile is the role model here.
