CLOQUET, Minn. – For the first time in its 58 years of existence, Cloquet's R.W. Lindholm Service Station — more commonly known as the Frank Lloyd Wright gas station — will be owned by someone not descended from its original owners.

For those who appreciate the fine art of architecture (and those who enjoy gas stations).

I've actually been at that gas station and gassed up...

Wow, memories.

Count me in as one of those. There isn't anything Frank Lloyd Wright designed that I don't appreciate. As far as appreciation of gas stations goes, I consider them to be an important aspect of North American life. I grew up around the corner from one, and a childhood friend lived in a converted one a block away. There was another across the road from my father's business, and the owner was his friend.

I just love FLW. That is an amazing gas station. I'm a huge fan of the Prairie movement in architecture. Of course it does help that I dated 3 architects, LOL.

But of all of them, Wright is my favorite.

Oh never mind. It seems he died a couple years before you were born.

She may be lying about her age, women do that you know.

Didn't think of that. She would have to be pretty old to legitimately have dated Wright though.

Even if she is 80 today, she would still be 68 years younger than Wright.  Party

She could also be a ''shape shifter'', time is of no concern to them...Laugh

I love that architecture, and only wish I could see it in person!  I hope the new owners don't tear it down, but leave it be and fix up on it!

Thanks for posting it!
