Pence Has AWESOME Response to John Lewis, Urges Americans to Do ONE Thing on Inauguration Day…
Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) attacked President-elect Donald Trump, calling his election “illegitimate” and saying it was due to a Russian conspiracy.

Having a sitting Congressman question the legitimacy of a duly-elected President is an unheard of event.

One might call it “attack on democracy” in the words of Hillary Clinton.

Trump fought back, calling Lewis “all talk” and stating he should look after his own district.

Now, Vice President-elect Mike Pence calls for calm and common sense.

From Fox News:

Vice President-elect Mike Pence on Sunday called for congressional Democrats, and all Americans, to unite under incoming President Donald Trump, and said he was “disappointed” in Rep. John Lewis for questioning the legitimacy of Trump’s presidency and urged him to reconsider his Inauguration Day boycott.

“Donald Trump won this election fair and square,” Pence told “Fox News Sunday.” “The American people know that.”

Lewis, D-Ga., a civil rights icon, said in an interview airing Sunday on NBC that he didn’t see Trump as a “legitimate president,” amid evidence Russia tried to hurt the candidacy of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

“While I have great respect for John Lewis and for his contributions, particularly to the civil rights movement, I was deeply disappointed to see someone of his stature question the legitimacy of Donald Trump’s presidency and to hear him say he was not attending the inauguration,” Pence said. “I hope he reconsiders.”

Media painted this as a ‘Trump attack on a civil rights icon’ without allowing Trump any room to respond to what was really an unprecedented attack by Lewis.

John Lewis being a civil rights icon doesn’t give him the right to free attacks without response for life.

Several other Democrats have joined Lewis in his boycott of the inauguration.

Democrats have to stop attacking our institutions and the peaceful transition of power.

Trump will be president in five days.

Time, long past time, to accept it. http://www.youngcons.com/pence-has-awesome-response-to-john-lewis-urges-americans-to-do-one-thing-on-inauguration-day/

I hope they boycott their seats too.

That would be nice.  Too bad Lewis had to ruin his reputation over an anti Trump tantrum.

Yes. He should resign. If not, he should be censured.

Lewis has not ruined his reputation. He made one simple, honest statement, hardly a "tantrum". GTF over it.

If Hillary had won and trump claimed her election was illegitimate, then Democrats would be up arms claiming that Trump was imperiling a smooth transition of power and undermining democracy. In fact, they said as much when trump hedged on committing to accept the outcome of the election unless he won. Now the shoe is on the other foot and Democrats have no problem doing, themselves, what they said trump shouldn't even consider. I'm no trump supporter but the Democrats are being ridiculously hypocritical. If something is wrong, then it should be wrong no matter who does it. They lack even basic integrity for elected office and should be thrown out.... along with anyone else on both sides of the isle who is cut from the same tattered cloth.

Word is that parking permits for buses bringing people in for the inauguration are way down from previous inaugurations.

Trump "movement" staying home ?

. . . Trump "movement" staying home ?

Maybe but there's a women's march the day after the inauguration. Between the two events, all the buss seats appear to be sold out. People will have to find other means to travel. Hotel rooms (I'm talking modest ones) are at least $300 a night and selling out. He's not making history so he'll never see an obama sized crowd.

Well there will be many domestic terrorists there trying to disrupt everything that day.
