For some reason, A.Mac, I don't feel that the colour of your photo is really indicative of "night", even as a fantasy photo, so I thought I would try applying a colour that is, for me at least, more akin to a photo depicting "night". Were you perhaps trying to mix a theme from Van Gogh with the sky colours from Turner?
