Bad One-Liner from the Old Days of Comedy … as follows æ

"I just flew in from the West Coast … boy are my arms tired!

Ba-dump-dump.

I am happy with this image … hopefully the happiness is contagious.

I love how their feathers spread out on their wings-- reminds me of the Egyptian Gods kind of things...  Beautiful picture, A. Mac!  Thanks for it!

Beautiful image Mac.

It doesn't look to tired from that long flight. Perhaps it caught a trade wind.

Are the two dark spots on the back of its head ears?  If you did not see it happen, can you tell from the photo that it is landing because it is looking down, which makes me think that if it were taking off it would be looking up.

In any event - a great shot captured at the perfect instant.  Do you use a burst of exposures and choose the best?

Birds have internal ears and no external auditory-organ structures. The dark areas may be shadows cast by somewhat ruffled feathers created by what was a quite windy day.

I did shoot a burst and now that you mention it, in retrospect I think the bird was landing but, it could have been taking off.
