Am I wrong to think that "twilight" is a dim evening light with no direct sunlight, as the sun would be below the horizon? If that were so, there would be no sun's rays, except perhaps that could be seen in certain conditions aiming upwards only. I think that taking a photo against the sun would provide the best opportunities for adding flare for it to appear natural, should it not be natural.
As for something new and not seen before, this is the only photo I've taken in the past couple of weeks due to inclement weather and my not getting out much.
There are several phenomena in nature regarding crepuscular rays, not all occurring at twilight …
Crepuscular rays /krɪˈpʌskjʊlər/ (more commonly known as sunbeams, sun rays, splintered light, or god rays), in meteorological optics, are rays of sunlight that appear to radiate from the point in the sky where the Sun is located.

Works either way Buzz. Both styles are absolutely beautiful.

Me too Buzz. Only difference is that I've been working on my lawn mower and my neck and back hurt like fire. I did, however, finally get the lawn mowed, thanks to the help of my 9 year old grandson, Greyson. He did a super job, but I can't see it much because I can't turn my head to the left at all.
As most of you know I have a small art collection. I also have some books that are collectors items. One is the 1st edition, signed by the author, Charles Banks Wilson. His book, ''In Search of the Purebloods''...contains 77 pencil drawings of Pureblood Indians..The term pureblood means all blood from one tribe. If one is 75% Ojibway and 25% Dakota they are a full blood but not a pureblood.
This is one photo of a drawing of a Kiowa Apache. Yes, Kiowa Apache is one bloodline it is not part Kiowa and part Apache.
Charles Banks Wilson wrote this to accompany the drawing.
''Family and neighbors sat about the room watching as I drew in his sisters home in Anadarko (Oklahoma). This 67 yr old man, his brother and two sisters are the last purebloods.
Although I could open the link to the description of the Kiowa Apache Tribe, and the great drawings in the links, I could not open the coded link to the drawing at the end of your comment.
The "Great Spirit" being referred to in the title to this article - nobody can portray the "Great Spirits" as well as you, that being a magnificent example.
No need to keep it "light" … any/all creative posts (including commentary, critique, etc.) are welcomed.
Beautiful picture, Mac. Very Spiritual and inspiring. Nicely done.
Just lovely! You really bring feeling to this piece.

All truly beautiful pictures, Buzz. Love the glints of sunlight in each.

Well done Buzz! I love the waterfalls.

A very lovely sunset, EG.
Really love the colors and the silhouettes. Beautiful!
Perfect amalgamation, EG!
Its almost impossible to watch the setting sun and not dream.
A wonderful capture!
Beautifully done, Kavika. It's as if the light of day is struggling against the encroaching nightfall. Kudos!
Another beautiful sunset with wonderful colors. The water makes it so peaceful.

A beautiful drawing, and very interesting background of the drawing. Thank you for sharing it with us Kavika.

There is no link there, just the pencil drawing. Can you goggle Charles Banks Wilson?
Yes - here's an example:
Some of his painting/drawing hang in the Oklahoma capital building.
His painting of Will Rogers is stunning and his mural of the ''Plains Madonna'' is outstanding.
LOL. The Will Rogers portrait opened, the mural would not - is there a difference?
No difference, both taken from the same link.
These are all amazing drawings (and Will Rogers portrait is beyond skillful).
I just can't figure it out - unless my computer has a mind of its own and chooses what it wants me to see and what it doesn't.
Buzz,
It's like a Chief Gunner's Mate taught me in the Navy, "If it's electronic and it isn't working, it's because you're not using a big enough hammer."
LOL
Something new from me …

To great photos and two great quotes.
Now THAT'S advancing your creativity - fascinating and effective.
Beautifully imaged, Mac. And the quotes are indeed very inspiring.
I really like this new concept. I think it's very unique and eye-catching. The quotes are the icing on the cake.
Alas I can only look and admire, sadly I do not possess the capability of creating such fine work.
But I am happy that you do.
Your compliments are appreciated, and very welcome here.
They have been well earned:)
Exploring viable themes for my new concept.

A beautiful picture, and a truly lovely and fitting quote to go with.
Ah yes, but "I think that I shall never see a poem lovely as a tree." (Joyce Kilmer)
I hope everyone has a great weekend. In keeping with the 'Spirit' of things....
Beautiful as always, RW.
Thank you very much Kavika.

Thank you for your very kind compliment, Buzz. It is very much appreciated.
Beautiful color and composition!
Thank you Mac.
All of these shots are AMAZING !!! Thanks everyone for sharing them.
