Beautiful photos Mac. The closeup of the bee and flower are truly awesome. Love the bright, delicate yellow of the flower, and the detail of the bee as it hovers above it. Very nicely done!
Is that a Blue Jay holding a bat, or one perched on a branch? What shutter speed could stop a bee's wings? Both have great colour and backgrounds. Was the intro photo taken at Disney World?
It is really interesting how the sun and its reflection on the water are framed by the trees in front of it. It reminds me of a drive I made along Sanibel Island in FL at sunset several years ago.
Thank you Ender. That is the wonderful thing about art.....people can look at the same artwork and see different things in it. The Phoenix is truly my most favorite Sacred birds.
My Mother is of the Cherokee Bird Clan, and my Father is of the Wolf Clan. At one point in my life my Spirit Guide was the Wolf, and now at this point in life it is the Raven.
COPCO LAKE, Siskiyou county northern California. I've spent many days fishing the lake. It's fairly remote and is on the old stagecoach trail that runs from Oregon to Yreka CA. It follows the Upper Klamath River. 4WD recommended.
It appears that the birds are attacking, but how can that be correct? And it is being overlooked by spirits. I appreciate your wonderful artworks even more if I can understand what they depict.
Buzz....the Eagles as shown are 'fishing' in the lake, along with the bears. The two eagles in the center are competing for the fish one has caught. And the two at the right are also competing for the fish one has caught. As well as the two bears.
The Spirits are watching over the Eagles and bears as they both go about hunting for food in the same place that can provide for many.
Overall, it shows how Mother Earth provides for all living creatures in her care, and how the competition between them can insure that the strongest will survive to carry on the species.
Oh, thank you. I thought that what the two eagles in the centre were attacking was what I saw as the upward-facing head of a person lying on their back. Now that you mention that it is a fish, I see what you mean.
The gradient background in continuous tone from near-white to buff is perfectly configured to simultaneously set off, and yet, embrace the figure! The scalloped frame adds a quiet, rhythmic surrounding. Great work, RW!
Thank you Mac. I truly appreciate your opinion. Getting that surrounding to come together took some work, but, it was well worth the effort. It was my first time working with that type of framing.
Start the New Year with some creativity!

The Blue Jay's name is "Joe Carter". !/2500 sec. Japan Pavilion, EPCOT, Walt Disney World.
Very nice AM, Happy New Year !!
Very inviting, pat.
Sunrise or sunset? Great colour.
sunset.
My "AM" meant A. Macarthur, lol.
Just reread your intro - I thought it looked more like morning.

Thank you, RW
Happy New Year everyone. May the Creator grant you all a healthy and prosperous 2020.
What is the iconography, RW, The Firebird perhaps?
There are many Sacred and Spirit birds among the different Native American Tribes. The image shows the relationship between Man and birds.
We are all related. We are all dependent upon each other for survival. Thus, we are all one.
The wings and the flame, birds perching on his arms - I would have guessed that as well.
Thank you Buzz.
Almost reminds me of a phoenix rising from the flames.

Beautiful picture, Kavika. It is somewhat mirrored and not easily determined which side is up at first glance.
Uncle Sam riding a bomb and what looks like bottles of liquor in the window.
What is this all about Buzz?
The artist must have just seen the Dr. Strangelove movie. Liquor? No, soy and other different sauces.
Good start to a creative New Year!
My Path.
I'll eventually GET THERE.
Where is that located?
In my Mind.
So much to do….so little time !
Just to add a little something different...

I hope this provides a better understanding.

I am glad that I could clarify the actions of the Eagles and bears. That does make a difference in the meaning of the image and its meaning.
LOL - a HUGE difference.
I know it's Saturday, but, I figured, what would it hurt to post one more … this one, a portrait of one of my neighbors.

A buck for your thoughts.
That's a beauty, Mac. I like the contrast of the double frames. The deer is beautiful, and looks more like a painting than a photo.
Very well done indeed!
He's a poser.
Come have a look at my deer neighbor before he heads off into the woods.
very nice, I like it
Like Mac says, it may be Saturday....but, no harm in adding another to start the new year off...

Okay, it's a new year, so why not?
That is really beautiful scenery. And great colors.
Thank you Raven.
