WESTERVILLE, OH—After presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren was pressed on her plan to raise taxes on the middle class, Warren boldly answered the question by coming out as a gay man.

"I'm glad you asked," she said. "Actually, this question has encouraged me to address some other things about my life, and I'm now ready to come clean: I have loved and had romantic encounters with men throughout my life, and I choose now to live as a gay man."

Warren gestured to her opponent Pete Buttigieg and nodded. "Just like this man here, I am gay."

The audience stood and applauded her bravery. Not wanting to be outdone, Buttigieg quickly came out as a double-gay lesbian trapped in a man's body.

Buttgig?

Mr. Buttigieg has the bona fides any candidate would envy. A graduate of Harvard and a Rhodes scholar, a Naval intelligence officer and a Veteran with a tour of duty in Afghanistan, an unapologetic Christian who lives the values inherent as a true believer, and an eloquent and always well-prepared voice of calm and reason. Bring up his policies should you desire an adult discussion, or choose to go the sophomoric route and bring up an anal sex reference. Doing the latter says so much more about his detractors than anything he could say in wanting to bring healing to a fractured and divided nation.

Hey let's make him president.

Hey, he was a media personality, devoid of serious thought, oblivious to the requirements the office demanded, only comfortable in his divisive campaign mode, and unwillingly to listen to council or honor commitments made before his arrival. He is our president...we can do better, even if just a Mayor from Indiana. The debates between them would be interesting, no?

Even if he was an awesome mayor, it's still mayor of a town that has barely 100,000 people. On it's own, it doesn't exactly impress as a résumé item.

Even better. Time we move past the 'media darling' obsession and focus on substance and policy. He would be an excellent front-runner, but seems destined to be the Veep choice regardless of who comes out on top after the primaries. His star is ascending and his reasoned voice will be a welcome addition to the dialogue.

I agree that Trump also had a very unusual resume. Still, he has run a corporation that has 500 companies contained within it for almost 50 years - longer than Pete has been alive. Trump manages a bigger organization than Pete does.

The city of South Bend employs between 10,000 and 13,500 people.  The Trump Organization employs over 22,000 people .

The budget of that corporation is obviously far beyond what the town of South Bend, Indiana has to manage, and in terms of revenue, in 2015, The Trump Organization took in over $9 billion. Trump has to concern himself with things like local/state/federal regulations and international relationships and legal systems a lot more then Pete Buttigieg has had to. The bottom line is Trump came in with a lot of relevant experience even if none of it was as a public servant.

Pete seems like a decent fellow and maybe one day he'll make an excellent president, but for now, he has some obvious weaknesses in his record. But of course, elections are not won on paper. Maybe he can campaign in a way that overcomes those weaknesses.

One day, Maybe.

I'm still waiting for the "Clear" part the Democrats like Warren have said they've been since running for the Democrat side for President.

At least We know Bernie wants to tax the middle class, Beto wants to steal guns, Joe can't remember what he was supposed to say, and  Harris is adamant about Shutting Down Trumps Twitter Account.

Oh, and Buttigieg luvs "Family Stories".

Cory just wants "Love".

Yang just wants to party and throw money around.

 Amy Loves Obama.

Julian just wants Impeachment of Trump.

Tulsi is already out of the picture thanks to the DNC.

Tom is just looking for a "Clap for me" moment.

….etc......

I haven't seen real substance or policy yet. Only "Pipe Dreams". Like Amy Said to Elizabeth "Time for a reality check" !

A good number of Trump haters are batshit crazy, delusional, and wishing to change history. A goodly number simply have refused to accept the reality that Trump won the election, and have screamed at the sky and anyone willing (or unwilling) to listen to their whining incessantly for the last 3 long years.

You know John, not every conversation is on the same topic. Broadly comparing the résumés of two people running for president is in no way about making excuses for anything.

If it makes you happy (you know how I long for that), I am not making - nor have I ever made - the claim that Trump's résumé is somehow the ideal one for president. Personally, my favorite generic presidential candidate is usually someone with experience as a state governor.

Trump is not my favorite person. I didn't vote for him. My problem with how I'm going to vote, however, really doesn't have much to do with whether I like him as a person or not. For me, it's a choice between someone who I think causes a lot of unnecessary problems for himself and us and a bunch of candidates who may be nice people but have bad ideas. Free college? Universal health care? Damn right we're going to take your AK's and AR's? Reparations? Etc..

How do we pay for these things? The Rich, you may say. Give that a try. All you will do is chase the rich out of this country and there goes your source. Corporations? Same thing. So, it will be whoever's left. Those not rich enough to flee. Venezuela all over again. So I work my ass of my whole life so that Democrats can take everything I worked for to pay for their programs and then put me in prison for refusing to use some confused person's preferred pronoun. Not really a lot there to attract my vote, you know?

So you see (or probably don't) a lot of people on the right find Trump unfortunate don't really feel they have much of an option. Your problem with what you do in here is thinking that constantly pointing out that Trump is the devil doesn't really work. All you're doing is trying to convince people to do is not vote for Trump simply based on convincing people he's a bad man. What you do not do is give them an alternative they can accept.

But perhaps that is your plan. Just trying to get people not to vote for Trump, hoping they don't realize you're not even attempting to explain why they should instead vote for the other guy. Gotta give you credit though. You work really hard at this.

What if it was a better businessman, say like Bloomberg? Someone more ethical, sensible, moderate. Someone you might not agree with everything with, but where you know he isn't radical either. Could you vote for a guy like that?

Obviously this is just a hypothetical. Just trying to get the feel for something presented other than what the other guy is doing bad. That is what you were asking, yes?

Hey, Trump sucked as a businessman, but we made him president. He only went bankrupt 6 times.

Now at this point I have to say this. Why is it so easy to sling mud? It's not something I enjoy doing, yet look how easy it is to do? Did we just gain anything by doing so? I think not.

There is nothing which I dread so much as a division of the republic into two great parties, each arranged under its leader, and concerting measures in opposition to each other. This, in my humble apprehension, is to be dreaded as the greatest political evil under our Constitution.

Im going to assume you are an on the level concerned citizen.  So I'll ask you a question.

Where in the world do you come to the conclusion that the alternatives are some socialist disaster, as you would put it, or Donald Trump?   Is that the only either/or you can come up with? How in the hell did we get in this predicament?

Of course, I would argue there is no such predicament. If Elizabeth Warren or some other Democrat is so bad, so disastrous, you should be able to give the Republican nomination to a shoe horn and win the election. Or at least Mitt Romney or Rick Santorum or even some dolt like Louie Gohmert. If Warren or Biden are so bad for America that you think you need to vote for a Trump, any Republican should be able to beat them.

Its simple, dump Trump for being the scumbag unqualified fool that he is, and nominate someone else to be the Republican candidate next year. Simple. Problem solved.

Donald Trump has never for one second been qualified to be president of the United States. He's a conspiracy nut. He's psychologically unstable. He's a serial liar. He's a crook.  On what planet is that presidential material?   Oh well at least he's not Hillary Clinton.  Are you fricking kidding me?   He's not Warren . He's not AOC.  No he's not. He's a worse human being then all of them put together.   He's not fit for office. Find another candidate for 2020 and win that way.

Don't really know Bloomberg so I couldn't say. As to who I could vote for, I'm trying to imagine such a person. Or, rather, I'm trying to imagine anyone who could actually make a difference. The difference I would like to see is someone who was honest, ethical, sensible and most definitely moderate. I mean so moderate that they'd probably be independent. Of course, an independent wouldn't be able to get anything done in this government even if somehow they managed to get elected. What I would like to see in a candidate is the ability to take what's best, or most realistic anyway, from both sides, forget the crazy stuff like getting off fossil fuels in only 12 years and compromise.

But that isn't going to happen. The clown show Congress has devolved into is either our way or nothing. I don't like saying it, but I have nearly zero hope than anyone at all can fix what's going on.

Obviously this is just a hypothetical. Just trying to get the feel for something presented other than what the other guy is doing bad. That is what you were asking, yes?

If I understand your question, yes. I would like to see him post something about why we should vote for his candidate other than "he's/she's not Trump". I would like something to actually consider.

If you think this is simple, I would suggest that you have even less grasp of politics than I do. Do you think it's up to me personally who gets nominated? Why do you think the Republicans have chosen not to run anyone else against Trump? Do you think Joe Average has a say in it at all? Why aren't we hearing about any candidates running against Trump on the Republican side? I've heard almost nothing about it. Why do you suppose that is? Isn't it because the Republican Caucus isn't going to allow anyone else to run against him? So how does a nobody like me and millions of others dump Trump when we have no control over this? Not how it works, you know?

Of course, I would argue there is no such predicament. If Elizabeth Warren or some other Democrat is so bad, so disastrous, you should be able to give the Republican nomination to a shoe horn and win the election.

Um, no. You're speaking as if I alone decide who gets elected. I happen to think Warren supports bad policies, or takes what could be good policies and takes them too far. That's me. Not everyone sees her as I do.  Even if I happen to like the shoehorn the Republicans put forward doesn't mean all moderates will. It will only mean I like the shoehorn.

I dont know if my grasp of politics is better or worse than other people, but I do know I understand things.

If the Republicans in the Senate made it known , to Trump, that they were going to vote for impeachment, he would be gone. He would resign.

So that is their choice. He's not fit for office. They all know that but they fear him.  But you cant say there is no alternative. The alternative is the leaders in the Republican congress tell him its all over and he can go back to being a reality television star where he belongs.

The Republicans can run a respectable conservative for president next year and we can all watch and see where the chips fall.

The idea that people "have to" vote for trump in 2020 or their world will come crashing down is absurd.

Then the Trump supporters would vote their asses out. In fact many of their own Republican supporters would vote their asses out. Did you feel the same way about Clinton? They had him dead to rights for perjury, and obstruction. The Democrats in the Senate even admitted it; but still no impeachment.  All the Dems have produced is pure bullshit against Trump. Now they are conducting "secret" impeachment investigations & are locking Republicans out.  But hell, it's Trump, left hate him. He must be removed for that reason alone.

So that is their choice. He's not fit for office. They all know that but they fear him.  But you cant say there is no alternative. The alternative is the leaders in the Republican congress tell him its all over and he can go back to being a reality television star where he belongs.

The left's wet dream. They know their candidates suck. They fear a Trump second term. Why not let the voters decide John?

The Republicans can run a respectable conservative for president next year and we can all watch and see where the chips fall.

You already know where the chips will fall. Trump voters will be outraged and either stay home or vote 3rd party. The Dems will win the White House easily; no matter which insane clown rolls out of their exploding clown car last. Chances are the Senate as well; as Republicans that supported impeachment would be removed. It would be a leftist orgy then.

The idea that people "have to" vote for trump in 2020 or their world will come crashing down is absurd.

The idea that people have to vote for whichever candidate the Democrats put forth or the world will come crashing down is absurd. They already tested that idea with Hillary; and are still paying for it. I will ask you directly John, WTF are you so afraid about letting voters decide? If the majority of people agree with you that Trump is unfit for office he will be voted out. Of course Trump wasn't supposed to win the first time, was he?

Besides the usual questions about just who the fuck is going to pay for all the free shit Warren and all the others are using to pander for votes, I have one for Warren specifically.

Does your wardrobe consist of only black slacks, black t-shirts and varying colors of long sleeve sweaters?   Would that be your attire at a formal state dinner?  Curious minds want to know.

I don't follow women's fashion, but I've noticed over the years that Dem women running for POTUS wear boring clothes. Warren isn't too bad, because she jacks it up with different color sweaters. Kamala wears only black or gray, so maybe she's always in mourning? And Hillary wears only those coat/long jacket things with baggy pants.

The adorers of Putin's Trump have expressed their vacuuous vacuums of serious thought on the subject of this Warren delineation which was, is, and will continue to be--Healthcare System for Americans.  Over 80% of the comments thus far concentrate on personal denigration of Sen. Warren.  Not one of them offering a better plan or even a fair perspective of the subject.

Well lil' trumpers, what is the plan?  The Trump stated he would have a ( beautiful, perfect, cheap ) healthcare plan.  We await.  Thus far, all America has received is more pollution, tax cuts and a strange twist in the Middle East.  And of course, other things too, to innumerable to mention.

Her plan sucks, is more than enough. Sorry, the Dems already struck out with the PPACA; they don't get a second chance to fuck things up more.

Well lil' trumpers, what is the plan?

Whatever it is or will be, I feel confident noting that it will not cost over 30 TRILLION dollars over the next ten years.

Her batshit crazy plan would consume the greatest proportion of federal tax revenue with essentially crumbs left over to pay for things like the military, social security, infrastructure and the plethora of other responsibilities and programs the federal government runs.

WHY do you thing she runs like a roadrunner with a coyote chasing her ass any time she is asked, "HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?"

How much will it cost?  A whole hell of a lot when the price of an 'easy birth' is in excess of ten thousand dollars.  Maybe the cost is reflective of the price and that is what has to be examined.

Ah.....  so now there is an added twist.

So, you believe medical services should be price controlled by the government?   Or should it simply be rationed if the expense outstrips the income to pay for it?

Never said what you implied.  However----many costs are rather excessive.

Controlled by government?  Okay.  Well, just keep having it controlled by the for profits.  Some of these insurance execs are knocking down $30-80 million a year.  Pharmaceuticals pay ungodly salaries.  All depends on what you can afford, right?  If you don't mind padding their wallets, keep padding because they won't stop.

Well the latest is I’m hearing from CNN is that the Nazi party is so enthralled with  fauxchahontas since she may be the whitest person in America that they want to clone her DNA.

Now the Corrupt News Network may not be getting that right but who knows anymore.

'fauxchahontas'.  I realize this is a satire but, you know even satire has its merits.  You sank those with malice.

In saying what you did denigrated the discussion in the same manner as those who feel honor, chivalry, respect and sacrifice in The Stars and Bars by permitting the Nazi flag to be flown in their midst.  Shame on them.
