China Impressed By Michigan Governor's Totalitarian Policies

BEIJING—In a candid speech Tuesday, President Xi Jinping stated he was "pretty impressed" by Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer's handling of the coronavirus outbreak, specifically praising her totalitarian policies.

China's dictator said he was actually a little jealous he hadn't thought of some of her ideas himself.
"She has some pretty great ideas -- stopping people from gathering together even with their families, ordering people not to buy seeds -- they can't even plant their own food now! We hadn't even thought of some of these innovative approaches," the Communist president said. "We're always looking for more ways to oppress people, and we were really inspired by Whitmer's approach."
"Not bad, Gretchen."
Other dictators across the world also chimed in with words of support and affirmation for Whitmer's policies, from North Korean ruler Kim Jong Un to Supreme Leader of Iran Ali Khamenei.
The Chinese government quickly offered Governor Whitmer a consulting position with the Communist Party of China, which she readily accepted.

Poor Gretchen. The stupid bitch is so lost she is blaming the Devos family now for people revolting against her pathetic policies. Just like everything else is President Trumps fault.

All the progressives i know on facebook are defending her. Acting like its totally normal to be told where you can go and what you can buy there. I swear this is the twilight zone im living in right now. If that bitch thinks this is going on for another month, we should start protesting. One hospital in the town i work in is filling for bankruptcy because there are hardly any covid cases and people are scared to come in for normal things. She is letting Detroit screw the whole state

And that's something new since when exactly?

Michigan has allowed Detroit to define the entire state for too long.  It's a hell of a lot greater and more than that shithole city.

My sister lives in Michigan and she says they're fining people 1000.00 for driving for none essential reasons. She wanted to bring a bunny cake she made over to her grandchildren for Easter but was afraid to get stopped so she went and bought diapers to bring so she could justify going over there.

As Victor Davis Hanson recently pointed out, it's not the uniformed right wing officer that has come to symbolize authoritarian regimes, but soft spoken leftists.

Can you actually get to BabylonBee Buzz?  Is it heavily censored?

What do you get when you search for Tienanmen Square in the glorious Peoples Republic of China (aka Communist China)?  Curious minds want to know.

No matter where one lives in this world (and I have travelled to and/or through about 17 countries) there are laws, regulations and customs, even in the USA.  If where I live is a place where perhaps they are more restrictive than others, and I have neither need nor desire to contravene them, and as long as the benefits where I am outweigh the detriments (that rarely affect me anyway - no YouTube? no google? There are alternatives), where I am respected, happy and comfortable, I have no reason to complain even though you may feel you're better off than I am.  Contrary to common belief, although I am not nor have I ever been a Communist, I have no fear of Communists or Communism.  (One day when the China-hatred here subsides I may post an article explaining why.) Americans established that fear of it long ago with the McCarthy hearings.  Fear begets Xenophobia and hatred.  I'm not afraid.

I'm proof that you don't have to be "red" in a Communist country and still live in comfort with no fears.  Nobody is forcing anyone here to join the Communist party, and I believe the majority of the population is apolitical, as are my wife's family and all our friends.

death numbers are astronomical.

Give us time and I'm sure we can push them higher, If you haven't heard if you are 80 years old here and die and they find out that your great grandson that you haven't seen in 5 years catches COVID19 that they need to label your death as a result of it, have to pump them numbers up.

Keep toting the CCP line Buzz. Now that things are open there notice any new mass graves that weren't there before? Missing any more people than usual? Any new vacant buildings open up for rent?

No, no and no. I don't tote the CCP line.  I simply post what I see with my own eyes without being directed by Trump what to think or to despise the Chinese government.  If there are vacant stores, it would not have been because of deaths, it would have been because two to three months being locked down can just cause a business to go under.  Let's see how that works out where you are.

Anything you hear from China is assumed to be anecdotal.

Calling them liars about one thing but happily agreeing with other stories has the potential to make one look very foolish.

Time will tell.

Completely closed society. The only thing we know for certain is when Kim flips us the bird by launching another missile.

Funny how each launch was major news over the last few years, now, nothing at all.

Trump, at one time threatened to destroy NK, now "doesn't care", says "he (Kim) just likes testing missiles".

(SEOUL, South Korea) — A barrage of North Korean missiles fired from both the ground and fighter jets splashed down on the waters off the country’s east coast on Tuesday, South Korea’s military said, a major show of force on the eve of a key state anniversary in the North and parliamentary elections in the rival South.

Biden wants Whitless as VP to secure the Michigan vote. He had better take another damn look. She is a Jennifer Granholm protege. She loved Granholm's policies that had Michigan in a single state recession a full two years before the real recession hit.

Seems she is trying outdo her mentor. Shutting down hardware stores and retail stores that were already reduced to home deliveries and curb side pickups. Shutting down lawn care services and construction. Wonder how long before she shuts down all of the car mechanics and repair places? We don't need to drive anywhere after all./S

Of course GM is planning to ramp car production up again starting in May. They are again receiving parts into the warehouses, and placing orders with their suppliers. Wonder if they consulted with Whitless?  Of course this will help her prime areas of concern Lansing, Flint, and Detroit- while she can still shaft the west side of the state and UP- so I am sure it has her full support.

I'm still wondering how a French aircraft carrier at sea for three months had contracted hundreds of case of COVID19 and you're worried about lawn care services?

This shit is airborne and it will find you.

For the record

I did not want this shut down - it should have been treated like the swine flu and every other new flu strain, period.

There were 80,000 deaths in 2018 from the "normal flu" for which we have  a vaccine.

No one panicked, no one blamed Trump or the WHO.

Trump did not panic or shut down the economy.

What changed?  too much winning?
