Pentagon UFO video: Defense Department confirms leaked video taken by Navy personnel is real

The Defense Department has confirmed that leaked photos and video of  "unidentified aerial phenomena"  taken in 2019 are indeed legitimate images of unexplained objects.

Photos and videos of triangle-shaped objects blinking and moving through the clouds were taken by Navy personnel, Pentagon spokeswoman Sue Gough said in a statement to CNN. She also confirmed that photos of three unidentified flying objects -- one "sphere" shaped, another "acorn" shaped and one characterized as a "metallic blimp" -- were also taken by Navy personnel.

"As we have said before, to maintain operations security and to avoid disclosing information that may be useful to potential adversaries, DOD does not discuss publicly the details of either the observations or the examinations of reported incursions into our training ranges or designated airspace, including those incursions initially designated as UAP," Gough said.

She also said that the  Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force , created in August to investigate UFO sightings observed by the military, has "included these incidents in their ongoing examinations."

The Navy photos and videos were published by  Mystery Wire  and on  Extraordinary Beliefs'  website last week but had been circulating online since last year.

There have been "a number of reports of unauthorized and/or unidentified aircraft entering various military-controlled ranges and designated air space in recent years" the Navy said in 2019. Last year, the Pentagon released  three videos  showing "unidentified aerial phenomena" -- clips that the US Navy had previously confirmed were real.

US intelligence agencies have been directed to give  unclassified reports  about UAP's to Congress in June.

I guess you could say these were close encounters of the FIRST kind.  By the way, has anyone read Damon Knight's short story "To Serve Man"?

Yes it was - an adaptation of the Damon Knight short story.

my granny was a big shot in the USAF with a very high security clearance. back in the 60's and 70's I was always pressing her for info about project blue book. being young, I remember being frustrated by her lack of disclosure one time, I tried a different tack and asked her point blank if she believed there were UFO's. she looks at me and says "there's no such thing as flying saucers" and then winks and smiles at me. I left the subject alone for decades. years after she retired the UFO subject came up and I pressed her again on the USAF blue book files and our government's knowledge. still respecting her former security clearance, she looks at me and my cousin and tells us "you wouldn't believe me if I told you". knowing our granny, we were both stunned and that's the last we ever spoke of it.

As our technology continues to advance we're increasing our ability to determine what's happening in space, but with the world the way it is, we REALLY need Klaatu and Gort to come.

I've seen two UFOs in my lifetime. One was when I was at my grandma's house which isn't far from Chestnut Ridge in Western PA (google it). My dad saw it too. It looked like a box kite but it was a silvery metallic color and it was spinning. I am fairly certain it wasn't a box kite cause Dad didn't think so, either.

The second one I saw was very near Chestnut Ridge again. My boyfriend and I were driving down US Rt 422 when this object flew over his truck and it was flashing red, green, and yellow lights. It didn't make a sound. Pretty sure it wasn't a helicopter because it was flying too low

I dont believe any civilizations from another galaxy are visiting earth, and if they were I don't think it could be done without it being discovered and a worldwide panic ensue. Plus there are way too many UFO sightings for them to represent visits to earth from other planets.

Clear and obvious photos and films of unidentified OBJECTS during daylight should be thoroughly investigated. UFO sightings at night are more problematic. The night sky can easily play tricks on people's perception.

No they're not coming from other galaxies...they're coming from other star systems in the Milky Way.

I agree with the panic part, but being discovered is something else.

We can make aircraft that cannot be seen on radar, and a sufficiently advanced civilization that can make the long trip here, would also be able to evade our rather primitive radar.  From there it is just a matter of staying out of sight.

Totally agree with you.  However, what happens when the agency tasked with the investigations feels that the results should not be shared with the general public?

UFO sightings at night are more problematic. The night sky can easily play tricks on people's perception.

To add even more to this, what about the leaked videos from ISS and the shuttles?  Not an overwhelming number, but they do exist, and more than a few have had unexpected/unexplained video transmission errors during those events.

I consider myself a skeptic, but am leaning towards "maybe there is something out there", not because of the videos and testimonials, but because of the way the government reacts to those same videos and testimonials.  They ACT like they are trying to hide something.
