Photos from Six Hours of Amazing Entertainment

From yesterday's preview article:

The Greatest Show on Earth is shown on TV every New Year's Eve in China. It is around 6 hours long, and is one of the most colourful and brilliant displays of singing, dancing, acrobatics, seen anywhere in the world. People in China look forward to it all year round. It is an evening when families get together from far and wide, eat fantastic food, and then sit and watch the program that is probably seen by a billion people, everywhere that CCTV (Chinese Central TeleVision) can be seen, besides throughout all of China.

The "Show" not only includes music, singing, dancing and acrobatics, but also a magician, and theatrical skits - comedies and drama.  I did not take any photos of the theatrical skits as they would not be meaningful without hearing the dialogue, and I didn't understand it anyway.  After the show started I got the idea of taking photos of the big screen of our TV for the purpose of making an article, so I did miss some good ones.  However, the show was rebroadcast the next day during daytime for people who were unable to stay up late, or for those who wanted to see it again, but I turned it on too late for the beginning.  I'll do better next year.  Some of the images may appear a bit fuzzy, but that's because there was so much motion and action on screen, and besides, they are photos of a TV screen.  Here are about half the photos I took, the rest will be posted tomorrow.  Only a few will have my commentary.

One hell of a show, a true extravaganza.

Loved the colors.

Buzz, check out the numbers on the photos. Start in the 40, some are out of order. (just in the forties)

Well done

P.S. like the car photos.

LOL.  I hit the 6 instead of the 3 when I posted the numbers, which I post before I enter the photos.  The 6 is just above the 3 on a regular (not laptop) keypad. Thanks for telling me - I hadn't noticed it.  It's now corrected.

Amazing!

You've done a fine job, Buzz, of showing us just how MASSIVE this show must be. I'd love to watch, regardless of language.
