How could Christians not hate Jesus..

Jesus said pick up a cross and follow me. Like thats going to happen. Take care of the needy and the poor. Give up your worldly goods.

Many idealogical thoughts that won't play today.

The article has some pretty ballsy stuff for a Christian to say.

In psychoanalytic terms, Jesus can absorb our hatred andis not destroyed by it.

Is ther no end to the nonsense that Christians come up with? It seems like there is nothing you can do to make Jesus hate you, but somehow it takes very little to be condemned to eternal hell fire. So Jesus won't hate you, but he will see to it that you suffer for eternity. What a guy.

It is pointless to brand virtuous acts by trying to mash them up with Jesus. Anyone can be virtuous without having ever even heard of Jesus. There have been plenty of admirable people throughout history, and for most of them we have actual historical documentationwritten bythemselves and their contemporaries, and we don't go turning them into divine entities. Christianity is all about using the Jesus figure as the reason for everything that is good, when goodwas alreadyan existing conceptbefore Jesus was ever invented. If you want to contemplate the truth, then you need to start by acknowledging what you know to be true. Good has been around far longer than Jesus.

Three fourths of the the word "good" is also made up of "goo."

I don't hate Jesus. In fact, I can't think of a single soul that I really hate.

What I dislike strongly are those that would use Jesus' name to further their own ends. That's what bugs me.

But hate? Disgust, yes, Loathing, yes, Dismay, yes. and a whole host of other things... Smile.gif

Jewell Shell your right we're in big trouble! We have the situation where a few are controlling the many. I hope the bribery checks bounce.

Lol - you don't really think that's my name do you? An atheist who chooses a euphemism for hallelujah as a screen name is certainly not doing so to praise the lord. It's humorous irony - like when an abrasivehardcore libertarian gun proponent calls himself "rose petals". (((((((irony)))))))

Well, I am god's favorite atheist ...so it only seems appropriate to honor it with an appropriate anonymous internet screen name. That should cover Pascal's wager, right?

Put that on a recruiting poster and it'll sure make me want to "take up his cross and join him!" /s
