This is about as horrible as it gets ... ... by Bob Nelson - WARNING: OBSCENE IMAGE

ar15.jpg?psid=1

This device has only one purpose:

Kill lots of people very quickly.

It can fire lots of bullets in a very short time. This characteristic is pointless... except for killing people.

It has lots and lots... and lots... of bullets. This characteristic is pointless... except for killing people.

This device has been used in most of the mass murders committed in the United States in recent history.

This device is easily obtained by anyone anywhere in the country.

The red background symbolizes blood...

There is definitely a disconnect between wood and polymer ... individuals use talking points they hear, rather than the knowledge that they can learn about weapons.

The AR-15 shoots a .223 caliber bullets which many use for keeping coyotes away from cattle during calving season .. not my weapon of choice for gopher sniping, yet many choose it.  Seems the reason for the popularity of the .223 caliber rifle to whack jobs is the 'cool' military look to that particle 'style' of the rifle...

Ugghhh .. ya just had to bring up the Kardashians didn't ya?... blech!

Yet it is true .. the AR-15 represents a military 'style' weapon, therefore its only use is killing people - as many as possible even.....

Until "We the People" stop listening to lip service from the government and elected officials ... depending on them to save the day - the carnage will continue.  'We' need to protect the children of America by tightening security at schools .. there are things that can be done that does not require the federal government dysfunction to accomplish.

And I once again preach to the converted .. my bad!

Agreed...

Sad isn't .. collectors selling of the weapons of notorious individuals .. I realize there is a fascination, that is part of human nature - but to get into a competitive bidding war to see who will own the weapon is weird!  The current owner could have listed it and sold it privately...

Oh wow. Your video pointed me to a more distressing video reason to need firepower (for defense):

ASP: I wouldn’t necessarily recommend the way this home owner chose to go after these home invaders, because a machete against a shotgun is a bad bet. But it worked for him, so kudos to him for his attitude!

What grabs my concern is the number of intruders. Initially, the homeowner is 'swarmed." I can envision this happening. . . . We should (all) talk about this. Just because!

More education for the anti gun rights left and their ignorance about firearms
These psychos who have used AR-15s do so for the psychological effects of their appearance. Most firearms sold in America have equal or greater firing rates to the AR-15

All the rates shown here including those of the AR-15 and military automatic are THEORETICAL rates. Gassing, misfires, jams, and the individual all affect actual performance.

Widely popular handguns like the Glock 17 easily can fire approximately 550 rounds per minute rate. Given magazine limitations it still can fire at twice the rate of an AR-15.
Using 10 round magazines which restrictive states like CA permit or the more widely accepted 17 round magazines a determined murderer with limited training could easily kill 40-50 people per minute
A practiced shooter with a Bolt action rifle with a 3 cartridge chamber capacity can fire about 25-30 rounds per minute (some have achieved even higher rates)
The Winchester Super X3 12 gauge Shotgun has a capability of more than 500 rounds per minute.

And remember when Joe Biden recommended that an old fashioned pump shotgun (which remains the most popular sold) with a 5-8 shell capacity can fire up to 500 shells per minute if the targets are at close range

All this information which is never shared by either the media or anti-gun rights politicians would dramatically change the debate if it was actually part of our national conversation. Unfortunately the media share in this assault on our rights and thus will never be honest in their presentations

And being hate filled? Seriously? I fucking love myself. If I had a chance to live forever I would totally take it unless it meant killing my family. Hell, I married my wife because she is almost my clone, we get along so well we could almost be the same person. And I don't really hate other either. Sure some individuals I cannot stand, but hate, eh not so much.

And fourth, can you specify what is a requirement of being a liberal? You just suggested I was and then made a general statement about some requirement.

Easy using the conclusions of the soft sciences as though they are on par with the hard sciences. There are significant differences. And basic science? Basic my ass, the fact that you would even post such a link and then toss in the phrase " basic science" tells me you have VERY little in the way of a scientific background. The only way to measure happiness is to ask people, and people give answers they think others want to hear more often than not, so surveys are mostly useless.

one method is called a partial birth abortion

in other words the baby is allowed to come almost all the way out and as long as even one toe is inside the mother they can legally kill it.

do you assert the baby is not  actually alive while a toe or foot is still inside the mother?

Cool by me, you do not deserve the respect I gave you ..  you are willfully continuing to allow American children to be sitting ducks - because you think the Federal Government needs to solve the whack job with a gun issue ... secure the schools - then whack jobs cannot gain access.  Oooo no cannot do that, the Federal Government is going to save the children, and fix the problem. (just prob not in your life time Bob).

Providing safety on school campuses is not militarizing them .. it is protecting children ... is that not what you desire?  Take the fight to the States!  The US government has been a laughing stock for many years.. cannot even come up with a budget without having to fight through legislation attachments and agendas .. gun laws, and stricter back grounds check are the furthest thing from our elected officials minds - gotta negotiate how many illegals get to stay (which I am all for DACA) but not when it stops the progress...

Providing safety on school campuses is not militarizing them .. it is protecting children

OK... Let's imagine that you can screen every entry of every school. (Let's not worry about the psychological effects on children of militarizing "protecting" their school experience...)

Do you remember Aurora, Colorado? Twelve dead and seventy wounded in a movie theater.

Holmes fired 76 shots in the theater: six from the shotgun, 65 from the semi-automatic rifle, and five from the .40-caliber handgun.

OK, then... Let's militarize "protect" all move theaters.

Then, of course... There were 58 dead in Las Vegas. Let's militarize "protect" all hotels and outdoor concerts.

Thankfully, we don't have to militarize "protect" our churches. There could never be a mass shooting in God's house... oh, wait...

This quickly becomes absurd. And why? Why must we choose between seeing our children slaughtered, and militarizing "protecting" all assemblies of people for whatever reason?

So that a tiny minority can continue to fantasize about being Rambo, holding off the evil hordes of Obama's secret Deep State army...

No hunter needs more than two rounds. No target shooter needs more than one. There is no reason for high-capacity rapid-fire weapons... other than to kill lots of people very quickly.

Yeah okay ... I can see that your view is a narrow one, so I will keep this simply for you.

Relying on the government to fix a problem that they have NO desire to fix, as it will cost all members of Congress money ... it then becomes a "We the People" problem to solve .. thus take it to the states.

All schools have one way doors - NO access from the outside, yet those on the inside are not locked in .. a buzz in policy means that those that DO NOT NEED ACCESS to said school does not get it.  In my State resource officers are there to 'police' the children (guns brought by students is a conundrum that is not easily solves, outside of metal detectors) metal detectors are not part of the 'buzz in policy' .. a school can be locked down without having to have chaos.

Background check are great, and needed .. but do not solve anything - with HIPPA laws, one is not going to gain access to medical records - if one does, then who decides this individual cannot have a gun - the United States military has allowed people to slip through a background check on more than one occasion.  (the federal government at work?)

Thinking the Federal Government will reach a compromise and produce regulations on 'mentally incapacitated' individuals is a pipe dream, that I prefer to not get involved in .. Mmy (not so) lil man is almost out of High School and off to College .. College campuses are a whole different subject - but if one takes a look at the design of grade school and High school .. there is a 'funnel design' only so many main entrances - I do not have answers for the whole of the United States - and my State does not have concrete jungles for the most part ...

Take the battle to the States, means for parents to get involved - perhaps by doing nothing more than signing a petition, in order for voices to be heard in State legislatures .. sitting back and waiting for the Feds to do anything to protect American children is pissing up a rope!

Rather certain I have wasted my time typing out a reply to you - I certainly hope you do not live and vote in Montana...

Take care of you ....

Ok, so we spend zillions transforming all schools into bunkers (and making our children paranoid).

Then we must consider the Aurora movie theater shooting, the Orlando night club shooting, the Las Vegas concert shooting, the Texas church shooting, sundry mall shootings, ...

How is this reasonable? We know we cannot "bunkerize" all assemblies. So... We'll continue to have mass shootings.

As long as mass-murder-firearms are readily available, mass muders will occur. Duh.

We can build all schools on some sort of stilt apparatus, with the only entrance 30 feet above the ground. To gain entrance you must pull yourself up a rope that is dropped for each individual , one by one. You must be in a one piece swimsuit if male and a two piece swimsuit if female.

The schools will be safe and the patriots can keep their assault weapons.

problem solved, no traumatized kids and no schools had to be rebuilt on stilts

Or maybe not. We've had mass shootings in churches, too There are more churches (about 300 000) but probably fewer doors per church. Let's call it another fifty billion dollars.

Movie theaters. About 40 000.  But lots of doors.

Night clubs. Concerts.

We're talking several hundred billion dollars.

I have two obvious facts:

1 As long as mass-murder-weapons (high-capacity, rapid-fire) are easily available, mass murders will occur

2 No one, hunters or target-shooters, needs such a weapon.

So... There's no need to confiscate all firearms, only mass-murder-weapons... which no one needs.

Some people fantasize about fighting Obama's secret Deep State army, so they "need" weapons which in fact only serve to kill lots of innocent people. Those crazy people are aiding and abetting mass murder.

not everyone thinks only the feds can solve their problems.

the notion of a community taking care of their own kids offends you?

seriously what is your problem? are you OK? for real?

And when non-trained people carry, and there's a major situatation.  how will you tell the good guys from the bad guys when the shit hits the fan?

I love target shooting, and yes, I've shot AR 15s and had fun shooting them, but I'm not stupid enough to think armed civilians will be helpful in a mass shooting incident.

But we can modify school construction to make them safer, Yes or No?

Of course we can, the problem is that we shouldn't HAVE to. The problem is that we keep accommodating more and more and more guns... Where does it end? With every home, school and public building built like Fort Knox...JUST to keep the riffraff out? Maybe tunnels so we can go visit a neighbor or go to work without being gunned down in the streets? At SOME point, there has to be some push back in the other direction. I support the 2nd amendment as much as anyone, but ONE amendment cannot and should not be the defining amendment for our entire culture.

There is no God given right to own an AR15, nor is there an ironclad constitutional right.

Even the conservative Supreme Court we have now has repeatedly declined to rule on the constitutionality of state laws that ban "assault rifles". It is very possible that the next "few" years could bring a national banning of assault rifles, if that happens , will you continue to say you have a "right" to own one, or will you follow the law?

When the constitution was created , someone with a gun would be lucky to get off one shot per minute.  If you walked into a schoolroom of 30 kids you might be able to shoot one of them before the other 29 ran out the door or perhaps ganged up to kick the crap out of you.

It makes absolutely no sense to keep invoking what the world was like 250 years ago , prior to almost every technological advancement we all take for granted now.

You're ranting to the wrong people JR, and you seem to post more to draw attention to yourself, than really being involved with the subject of this thread. You seem to do that with everything you seed. Why don't you go bitch to people who might be able to work toward solutions, because you certainly don't have any.

The thing you can't seem to understand is that a determined evil killer will find a way to obtain the weapons he wants, regardless of all the gun laws and background checks in the world. Why doesn't Israel have a problem with school shootings/

I would imagine because people there don't worship guns like they are taught to do here.

Because Israel has ultra-restrctive laws about gun ownership.

Duh.

I'll leave it up to the Israelis, who stringently refuse to compare their situation with ours. In particular, they point to their very strict laws on gun ownership.

Google it. Five minutes.

ok fine.

you have free speech but not on the internet, first you must pass a background check, file all the paperwork and you can only type 3 pre-approved words per minute. (they did not have keyboards 250yrs ago and no one expected you to be able to spew so much bs so quickly. but now the problem is solved yes?

Cheers :)

And it is also an INANIMATE OBJECT.  It cannot do what it is designed to do unless a PERSON picks it up, loads those "lots and lots... and lots... of bullets", points it at somebody or someTHING and pulls the trigger.  In fact, without that PERSON, this device is harmless.

The danger are the PEOPLE who pick it up that have the bad intentions and lack of knowledge on how to handle such a device.

They don't accidentally go off while cleaning.  Only a complete moron would clean a loaded weapon.

They don't accidentally go off when dropped.  I've watched them fall from aircraft for almost 20 years in the US Army Airborne and NONE fired when it hit the ground.

Keep repeating your mantra "guns don't kill people, people kill people". And watch the body count of innocent people, shot to death with weapons that were created expressly for the purpose of killing lots of people very quickly.

Watch the body count rise...
