Trump to hold rally same night as White House Correspondents Dinner; which one will you watch?

President Donald Trump’s re-election campaign team announced Tuesday that he will hold a rally in Washington, Pennsylvania on the same night and at the same time as reporters gather for their celebration.

“While the fake news media will be celebrating themselves with the denizens of Washington society in the swamp that evening, President Trump will be in a completely different Washington, celebrating our national economic revival with patriotic Americans, the Trump campaign’s chief operating officer Michael Glassner said in a statement.

“The president is really looking forward to highlighting the growing success of his economic policies for Michiganders, including historic deregulation and tax cuts that are delivering a pay raise to working families; resulting in record-low unemployment, remarkable reductions in food stamp enrollment, and a return of the American dream for millions of families,” Glassner said.

The snub is a repeat of last year when Trump held a rally in Harrisburg, PA at the same time the press celebration occurred.

The rally will be held at Total Sports Park in Washington, PA, which is in Macomb County which Trump won by 50,000 votes and 54% of the total in the 2016 election.    https://www.conservativedailynews.com/2018/04/trump-to-hold-rally-same-night-as-white-house-correspondents-dinner-which-one-will-you-watch/

The President had suggested earlier in the year that he wouldn’t attend the annual dinner in Washington, D.C. It has become a tradition for the President of the United States of America to attend this event alongside celebrities and some lawmakers.

President Donald Trump will be the first American leader not to attend the event in three decades. No members of the White House staff are expected to attend the dinner. It has been confirmed that Hasan Minhaj, a senior correspondent for “The Daily Show” on Comedy central will host the dinner in the absence of President Donald Trump.

A number of organizations such as the Creative Coalition, Reuters, UTA, CNN are pressing on with their plans to attend the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner despite the President absence.

The scheduled rally will be held at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center in the New Holland Arena. Doors open at 4:30pm EST and the Rally starts at 7:30pm

President Trump also revealed that he will be announcing new tax reforms in the coming week.

“Big TAX REFORM AND TAX REDUCTION will be announced next Wednesday,” President Trump said.   https://www.diamondandsilkinc.com/tabletalknews/2017/4/22/trump-to-hold-a-rally-on-the-night-of-the-white-house-correspondent-dinner

He liked campaigning - governing, not so much.  It's the only way he can get the ego boost he so desperately needs.

That is because it is easier for him to tell a lot of lies that people will believe than to actually work at running America like the Democracy it is than like one of his failed corporations, or his TV reality show "Apprectice", where he gets his jollies off telling people,"You're Fired!"

Why is he holding a rally?

Most likely because he remembers how he was joked about at the one he attended before being elected, and how he felt humiliated, unlike the other candidates who also attended and were also joked about in good fun. His ego is far too easily bruised by anything that is not total adoration and worship, as he sees himself as the equivalent of the Great Savior here on earth, because his devout base tells him he is.

Why is he holding a rally?

Donald Trump needs his ego massaged in front of a crowd of Fox News viewers and Klansmen.  The American Thinker will be there to cover the action their usual mindless word salad glory.

Russia Today will translate the proceedings from Putin's script

I'm sure he will do a quite fine roast of Donald Rump in his absence.  That should be great!

Not a problem for me, I think it's a good thing that the Correspondents at the dinner are correspondents because generally they'd starve to death as comedians and although watching trump preen and sprain himself patting himself on the back in front of the fux flock IS indeed much more entertaining, it gets real old real fast he as he meanders down the dark passages of what passes for his mind.

Besides, he wouldn't get enough of the limelight hosting the dinner, this way it's all for and about him AND they'll laugh at his jokes like they are funny as long as they're against minorities or Democrats.

I think I will get by finding something to do or watch three stooges or old bugs bunny cartoons, something more entertaining and informative. No loss. Both events with have every word analyzed, cross-referenced, quoted, misquoted and elaborated on.

Happy

There are actually several people who know Trump, that have stated on record that Trump lives entirely off credit.  This is one of the reasons why he has to turn to foreign banks for his loans.

His debts are greater than his income, and this is his vision for this country.  As long as no one calls in your loans, you can live like the millionaire that you aren't.

I'm certain that the Russian broadcast of Trump's rally will be a hit for Russki TV. Most Americans will much rather watch the press dinner. At least we can laugh at that rather than cry at the Commie In Chief that became the accidental president.

This happened a lot in the "Roaring Twenty's" the problem then was that the stock market didn't last long enough for them to cash in on the millionaire part, when it crashed everyone lost out who had taken out loans to "play" the market, except for those who were already rich when they started. The comic strip "Dagwood" started in that time, Dagwood was a rich kid who lost everything in the market so, he had to go to work for someone else.

Telling the truth isn't trashing him.  Unlike Fox News, those correspondents do not work for either him or the GOP.

I'll likely watch the Correspondents Dinner.  This dinner is about paying respect to the 4th estate and the 1st Amendments freedom of the press.  The President is supposed to get roasted and be a good sport about it.  They are not there to polish his ego.

Obama attended 8 press club dinners. He understood the freedom of the press and respected their role in a free country. He was able to laugh at himself and tell self-effacing jokes, like a well-adjusted person.

If you don't like what the majority of the press reports then stop doing it.

Politicians and the press are designed to have an adversarial relationship. The 1st Amendment's guarantee of freedom of the press was written so the press can keep the government honest by reporting all of what happens, especially what the politicians want to be ignored or buried.

Trump and his supporters have an unbreakable bond that progressives assail to no avail.  The more the progressives attack him and the harder the left hates him, the stronger the support for Trump among his supporters gets.  It’s kind of like the gravity dam near here where the more full the resivoir behind it is the stronger the dam is.

Trump had to reschedule his rally so it wouldn't conflict with another rally his supporters had previously scheduled in Georgia:

The National Socialist Movement, a far-right hate group that celebrates Adolf Hitler’s birthday, will hold a rally at a park in downtown Newnan on Saturday afternoon. The neo-Nazis expect a turnout of 50 to 100. But they’ll also draw anti-fascist demonstrators as well as hundreds of police officers.

“We will be hitting on all of the hot-button issues,” Burt Colucci, the “chief of staff” for the National Socialist Movement, said. “If it is controversial in America, we gonna talk about it.” The neo-Nazis are at war with a lot of people, including about 50,000 people who signed a petition on change.org that opposes the rally permit and urges a massive counter-demonstration.
