The Trump administration feared it would be a “public relations nightmare”: a major federal study that concluded contaminated groundwater across the country, especially near military bases, was more toxic than the government realized. Political aides to President Donald Trump and Environmental Protection Agency head Scott Pruitt pressured the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry against releasing the results.
“The public, media, and Congressional reaction to these numbers is going to be huge,” an unidentified White House aide wrote, according to Politico . “The impact to EPA and [the Defense Department] is going to be extremely painful. We cannot seem to get ATSDR to realize the potential public relations nightmare this is going to be.” The study was not released.
If this is true, it has to have been going on for awhile. Why did the Obama administration suppress it? Isn't there a rule against posting something in "bad faith"

Are you doing comedy now?
Quit responding to my comments JR, as they almost always derogatory and personal. First request.
It's JR's article so I believe that he was the right to say what he wants within the CoC and to who. Probably best if you don't want him to comment to you not to comment on his article.
Pretty simple I'd say.
You could as well if you ever decided to seed or write an article. It's quite easy to be part of the peanut gallary but a bit more difficult to seed or write an article and defend it from people that have no interest in discussion.
Hope that helps you.
I didn't mention pressure or why he posted the article.
I addressed your comment and explained to you that you to could manage to post your innuendo as fact if you chose to.
If you choose to seed to write an article please let me know. I'd enjoy reading it and commenting on it.
Your welcome.
Still no proof as to the accusation.
Since I didn't comment on the article either way to you, what is your point. Below is what I said to you. It's not that difficult to understand.
Stop trolling my articles Greg Jones.
Greg you are a guest on John's article and not the other way around. You don't want to talk to him, then don't be here.
They are "draining the swamp" real good, aren't they?
With Pruitt in charge of the EPA there is no more environmental protection.
They may be draining the swamp on one side, but, they are re-infecting it with even worse swamp rats on the other side.
The installation I live at has had problems with the water for years. Wonder why nothing was said between 2008 - 2016.
Because it was inconvenient to the previous administration.
Actually a 2014 report by Ft. Bragg said there is nothing wrong with the water.
Why would they bother themselves with facts. After all, facts are an anathema to the right. Lies are so much easier to manipulate and deny.
My comment was addressing Kavika.
That I have no interest at all in what you have to say. The only one digging here is you because you can't take the hint.
No. The GOP controls and controlled both houses of congress for 21 of the past 23 years and environmental issues were an anathema to them. If it won't get through the congress it won't happen. You do know that, right?
You need to check your numbers again. You are way off.
Show me. Go ahead.
1995-2009 GOP both houses.
2009-2010 Dem controlled both houses
2011-2012 Dem controlled Senate-GOP regained control of House
2013 GOP regained control of both houses.
1995-2009 GOP both houses.
Nope .The democrats took control of both houses in 2007
What was the excuse the Democrats always used?
Oh, yeah.
The GOP doesn't have a filibuster-proof majority!
There seems to be a lot that falls in that category.
WRAL differs from that warning notices that we had posted on our doors and offices. That's really nothing new.
Boy that article reads like official ones from Flint, MI.
Whether or not military bases routinely have water problems, the article says that Trump tried to suppress a report so that he wouldn’t get flack about it. If he did that, then he turned the story into one about suppression of information rather than the quality of water. I want transparency in government and if Trump is trying to hide things, then I support exposing it.

without disclosing relevant additional information. this from the Politico report
"Soon after the Trump White House raised concerns about the impending study, EPA chief of staff Ryan Jackson reached out to his HHS counterpart, as well as senior officials in charge of the agency overseeing the assessment to discuss coordinating work among HHS, EPA and the Pentagon. Jackson confirmed the outreach last week, saying it is important for the government to speak with a single voice on such a serious issue.
“EPA is eager to participate in and, contribute to a coordinated approach so each federal stakeholder is fully informed on what the other stakeholders' concerns, roles, and expertise can contribute and to ensure that the federal government is responding in a uniform way to our local, state, and Congressional constituents and partners,” Jackson told POLITICO via email.
Pruitt has made addressing per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, or PFAS, a priority for EPA. The unpublished HHS study focused on two specific chemicals from this class, PFOA and PFOS."
What ever it is your speaking of, I can assure you that Pruitt could care less and most assuredly hasn't a clue as to what it is, what it does and results of it's use.
Well if Ryan Jackson says so in an email it must be true. /s
Water quality is an increasing problem in the US. Water and waste treatment, an important component of American infrastructure has been sorely neglected by conservative leaders for decades. And this neglect began with Reagan and Supply Side Economics.
Got facts and figures?
I live in America. My city has issues. Not as bad as Flint's but is an issue.
And because of fracking to our south there are many who are having well problems also.
Facts and figures? Crap. Really? You honestly do not know? Read papers, magazines, see the news?
Or just a Trump bot?
The water sucked at every military station I was at with the exception of Ft Sill OK. I would shower with it, but always kept my own separate drinking water.
Shoot it took me awhile to get used to drinking water that didn't have a bit of JP-5 or DFM in it
That explains a lot.
