People are starting to use the word "Treason" in regards to Trump's actions at the Helsinki Summit!

On the Tuesday front page, Trump's hometown paper targets his joint press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

In a throwback reference to his campaign comment about being able to shoot someone on Fifth Avenue and still not lose any supporters, Trump is shown on the Manhattan street alongside a shirtless Putin, holding a gun up to Uncle Sam.

"OPEN TREASON" the front page screams, with "Trump backs enemy Putin over U.S. intel" below.

I think "traitor" is a better word that will mean much the same thing. "Treason" has legal applications that may not strictly apply.

trai·tor mini-speaker.png (tr ā t ə r)
n.
One who betrays one's country, a cause, or a trust, especially one who commits treason.

[Middle English, from Old French, from Latin tr ā ditor , from tr ā ditus , past participle of tr ā dere , to betray; see TRADITION .]

The more of this silliness the left does, the more his support grows.  I wonder if they will finally "get it" after the midterms?

Trump loses support every single day, throwing the USA under the bus didn't make his support grow.

Perhaps you prefer your news to be sourced from Russia?

#Russia ‘s state TV host: “It is very bizarre, you can’t bash your own country like that – especially when you’re the President.”
Female host: “When Trump says our relations are bad because of American foolishness and stupidity, he really smells like an agent of the Kremlin.”

Just a question to all the Trumpists out there...….If we substituted the name Barack Obama for the name Donald Trump for everything that happened in Helsinki yesterday, what would your reaction would have been?   Dig deep and tell the truth.

An obvious "editorial comment," one making no pretense to be anything other than what it is, posted below a factual, verified comment appearing just above it … SEPARATED FROM THE FACTUAL COMMENT BY A SOLID LINE SO AS STAND ALONE … is a legitimate and necessary form of journalism … vital in a democratic society.

If we are allowing misinformation to remain posted even after it has been clearly debunked, then, in essence, that misinformation can be just one of two things … AN EDITORIAL COMMENT, or …

… A LIE … and as a lie, thus having negative "value," and worse than "misinformation," it constitutes … disinformation, "information that is intended to mislead!"

“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.”

Yes. Have you been on the internet before?

It's very easy to prove me wrong. Provide the exact original document it's taken from. Is it from one of the  Phillipics or one maybe on one of the Cataline orations?  Cicero quotes don't appear out of thin air.

Or you can save yourself the trouble and read this:

So you can't provide the source. Sad. You know Goodreads isn't a real source right?

You could of course, prove me wrong by linking to the actual original source document where Cicero said that, but we both know you can't do that.

Are you serious?  She didn't plagiarize it because there's no record of it existing before her book was published.

You claimed it's more than 2000 years old.  To prove me wrong, you only have to provide a single source referencing the quote prior to the 1960s .  And yet you still haven't....

One could argue that it's a good idea not to be too critical of an adversary in case you become President and will need to work with them.

After learning that Putin, without question to those who believe our intelligence community, interfered in our election I don't think it's unusual for the loser to feel a bit miffed.

Why are the Clinton's and the Obama's constantly dragged into the conversation.  Can you not defend your guy on his own merits?

The point I was trying to make is that not long ago Russia was looked upon by most the left as a potential ally that we could do great good together in the world with and now they are evil despots that we shouldn't be trying to make peace with?   Why is that?  How come you are now a traitor if you try to "reset relations" with Russia but 8 years ago you were a hero?

To directly answer your question, this is why Hillary and Obama always get "dragged into it".

The answer is actually very simple.  The leadership in Russia is not what it was when the US had hopes of a better relationship.  Since Putin has been in charge our relationship with them has consistently gone down hill.

Do not be surprised when Republicans are indicted as conspirators and organizations like the NRA (its officials) as well.

There are reasons other than political that Congressional Republicans continue to cover Trump's ass … the reasons are …

THEIR OWN ASSES!!!

The Great White Hope and his base are in for a shit storm -- and all their pronouncements and whistling past the graveyard will not stop it.

Immunities will be granted to individuals, pardons will be moot …

There IS public information. There is no need to 'speculate' about what Trump said in Helsinki. Any thinking person would recognize that Trump threw his own DNA under the bus and stated that the US is equally to blame for the 'strained' relations between our countries.
