Trump's Swamp - His Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross Is Accused Of Stealing 120 Million Dollars

Forbes: Wilbur Ross Accused of Stealing Over $120 Million

Wilbur Ross could be “among the biggest grifters in American history,” according to Forbes magazine, amid new allegations that he may have wrongly siphoned off more than $120 million from business associates. An investigation, citing 21 people who have worked with the man who is now President Trump’s commerce secretary, claims Ross stole “a few million here and a few million there” from various companies. Forbes reports: “All told, these allegations—which sparked lawsuits, reimbursements, and a Securities and Exchange Commission fine—come to more than $120 million.” Ross’ former colleagues offer very unkind words about him. “He’ll push the edge of truthfulness and use whatever power he has to grab assets,” said New York financier Asher Edelman, while another of Ross’ former colleagues said: “He’s a pathological liar.” They say he is obsessed with money, with two former colleagues recounting that he took handfuls of Sweet’ N Low packets from a restaurant near his office, so he didn’t have to go out and buy some for himself. (A Ross spokesman disputed that claim—and denied that he sweetens his coffee.)

We can't go a day without seeing some outrage or scandal for Trump or his friends associates and appointees.

They are all disgracing our country in ways never seen before.

I glanced at the complete list of Trump’s cabinet. There isn't a single one who hasn't been tagged for either misuse of government resources, or nutzoid policy, or both.

IIt would be funny if it wasn't so dramatic.

At this point nothing surprises me. Par for the course.

And at this point, he/they may even get away with it.

If these allegations are true (and they are contained in actual court filings) , how can anyone trust anything Wilbur Ross says or does in the course of his duties as Secretary of Commerce?  People have stepped down from their positions based on far less.

It seems to me that the mistake that the Obama Administration made was to have such miniscule 'scandals'. Remember when they raked Tim Geithner over the coals for owing $26,000 in taxes? We could all get our heads around that number, it was something we could relate to and the GOP tapped it for every drop they could get out to it.

Now, we're looking at t guy who is alleged to have bilked investors out of 120 MILLION and Trump's sycophants shrug and say, "So what"?

So either they are the biggest fucking hypocrites on the planet, or the SIZE of the corruption is just TOO BIG for them to relate to.

Or both...

The media bear an enormous responsibility in their incapacity to relativize. They report on economics, for example, using gargantuan numbers... with no context. Their fixation on Hillary's emails probably gave us Trump.

I'm betting it would be easier to point out who is not corrupt in his administration.  Who isn't corrupt in his administration?  And Wally W I cannot believe you said as long as it's not Rump.  Unbelievable.  He's a crook amongst all the crooks in his cabinet.

They don't think of themselves as crooks, they think they are "extreme capitalists," shrewd and sharp businessman. Isn't it all about getting as much money as you can? Does it really matter how?

When did capitalist Forbes magazine become a liberal mouthpiece?

Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross could rank “among the biggest grifters in American history,” according to a Forbes report that details claims he wrongly siphoned or “outright stole” millions of dollars from former business associates.

The magazine spoke with 21 people who know Ross , who formerly headed private-equity company WL Ross & Co. All told, Forbes said, the allegations come to more than $120 million in aggregate value.

Among the allegations reported by Forbes, three former WL Ross executives say Ross and his firm charged at least $48 million in improper fees, then pocketed the money. A lawsuit about the matter remains active. Ross reportedly called the case “without merit” in a statement to Forbes.

Ross also said in a statement that the Securities and Exchange Commission had “never initiated any enforcement action against me.” But Forbes noted that he did not mention a $2.3 million fine the SEC levied against his firm in 2016.

Ross’s firm was also charging investors on money that it had lost, according to five former employees — allegedly even charging fees on one investment that was essentially worthless, according to Forbes.

The US is very lax on white collar criminals, so he will probably avoid a jail cell. He'd do more time if he stole some candy from a convenience store.

All of it over 80% is either dispute over fees or regularly fines over time.  That isn’t stealing.

Is there any kind of corruption on your side of politics that you can't rationalize or dismiss?  Where's your limit--or isn't there one?

Ross and Cyprus is the real story.  This $120 million is a distraction and chicken feed.

Cyprus is one of the main avenues for the money stolen from the Russian people to be spirited or laundered by the oligarchs.
