Here are the Trump comments that sparked controversy
Media is flipping out at these comments, claiming he told the ‘Gang of Four’ to “go back to their own countries.”

S E E D E D   C O N T E N T

So interesting to see “Progressive” Democrat Congresswomen, who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe, the worst, most corrupt and inept anywhere in the world (if they even have a functioning government at all), now loudly......

He doesn’t actually reference AOC, Tlaib, Pressley or Omar by name. So no, he’s not saying they’re all from another country originally, as media is trying to say. He’s probably just referring to Omar.

and viciously telling the people of the United States, the greatest and most powerful Nation on earth, how our government is to be run. Why don’t they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came. Then come back and show us how... badly, you can’t leave fast enough. I’m sure that Nancy Pelosi would be very happy to quickly work out free travel arrangements!

Nor does he is he saying just “go back to your own country,” it’s a much more nuanced comment in which he’s saying if they (Omar) thinks it’s so bad here, go back and solve the problem where you were and then come back and tell us how you did it. And thereby recognize how lucky it is that you are here. But media is skipping all that. Naturally.

But he should just not say anything when they are shooting themselves in the feet.

Wapo, NYT and the rest of the MSM are omitting the actual tweet and editorializing about something he didn't say.

He actually has a great point. If America is so awful as we here ilhan Omar say all the time then go fix the shithole you came from and tell us how you did it.

Shocker. And the Left-wing anti Trumpers will be getting their talking points from the Fake News I'm sure, in about 3....2....

He actually has a great point.

He usually does in a nonPC way. That is what the simple minds focus on is his nonPC statements, not what they pertain.

Just wait it's about PC Bro.

We'll just have to see if people are tired of civilly already, and are 'bout ready to return to scratching their big hairy balls in public and being dingle-berries.

Pretty much agree. I would love to take those on the left who think this country is so bad and force them to live in six different countries over a period of three years and then bring them back. See what they have to say then. I've lived in five different countries besides this one. Two first world and three third world. Even the first world countries, although they were nice, don't have it as good as we do.

That doesn't mean we don't have our own problems. We do. But it's ridiculous to expect perfection, and overnight at that. The trend over the last few years has been to denigrate the founding fathers because of various reasons. I'm sure we're all familiar with those things. What amazes me is that these people who take issue with something like the Betsy Ross flag fail to recognize that, in spite of any perceived faults, they moved the country in a direction that has brought us to where we are today.

It takes time to change a society. Well, except those who think along Marxist lines. They think they can do it overnight, but all they ever end up doing is killing a lot of people and enslaving the rest. For the rest? It takes time.

Marx believed it required societal evolution to achieve the objectives he envisioned.   Marx labeled the evolutionary system 'socialism'.

Others have used that label for very different systems and very different purposes.

This comment is not helping the discussion. Trump, is listening to his base on Twitter, and so he talks to his base through twitter and the national media picks it up. You should give that a thought. This man wanted to be president so he could sit on his stupid ass and converse not at the level of a world leader, who's words lean to weightier matters, but as some "yahoo" publicly mocked as resting on the side of his bed or sitting on a toilet>>>tweeting!

So my friend BF is using words like, "not actually" and "probably" to give this stupid man cover from his own embarrassment of trying to be 'just one of the fellows.' Trump is an old grown-ass man and leader of the leading nation on Earth. More importantly, everthing he publicly says, writes, and does is preserved in a unique historical record. And this "monstrosity" of a leader is so cavalier with his legacy that he tells people to 'F-off' as if time immemorial (how long has George Washington been dead by now and yet we study and regard his presidency?) won't consider his statements and actions to and against those ohter individuals serving in power same as he.

Some conservatives need to stop encouraging Donald Trump on Twitter! Because all this enabling is spoiling the foolish president and causing him to pull his drawers down lower in public! And at some point we will have to wonder about "the Base" and what is its role in Trump's stupid acts of aggression.

Okay, please state what other countries have accomplished since 2017.  Here's a list of what Trump has accomplished:

1) Trump has gotten a fairer trade deal with Mexico and Canada than what was contained in NAFTA.

2) Trump has the single most active and accelerating economy in the world, and other countries are falling into recessions while the US economy has few signs of slowing.

3) Trump has started working with North Korea, similar to what Nixon did with China.

4) Trump has started securing the Southern border of the United States for The People of the United States of America.

5) Trump has really put pressure on the members of NATO to share the burden with the USA of supporting the organization.

Those are 5 things that I can think of off the top of my head.  In the meantime, the EU has been kowtowing to Iran even after the USA withdrew from the JCPOA and which Iran has violated the terms of as was predicted by Conservatives when the JCPOA was signed.  And, trump did all of these things with a Congress (even when controlled completely by Republicans) that actually has refused to work with him and with wasteful, empty investigations hounding him as they have not dredged up a shred of actual criminality on the part of Trump or his administration.

Then they try to give the credit for all of that to Obama.

Effect to date- 0

2) Trump has the single most active and accelerating economy in the world, and other countries are falling into recessions while the US economy has few signs of slowing.

Trump inherited the single most active and accelerating economy in the world.

3) Trump has started working with North Korea, similar to what Nixon did with China.

There is ZERO similarity in what Trump did with NK and what Nixon did with China.

4) Trump has started securing the Southern border of the United States for The People of the United States of America.

Trump has absconded with millions of DOJ appropriations which puts our military and their families at risk.

5) Trump has really put pressure on the members of NATO to share the burden with the USA of supporting the organization.

Do you have a link to show that the US reduced it's contributions to NATO tom?

You don't really want to hear my response. Because I really don't see how your talking points moves this discussion along. If your "Mr. Nice Guy" was actually not an 'insult king' (by the way, you like him because he is not knocking sparks from your. . . 'can') who thinks he can incite his way through to another victory in the electoral college, then he would work to deliver compromise. Remember compromise? That slow-steady progress "thing" you conservatives used to promote? Until you realized that groups of citizens are tired of oppression, repression, and people meddling in their personal affair (as determined by them). So you think your "kill-switch" of a president will cash out the country for ya? He just might. Don't mean you will get to keep it though.

Trump has absconded with millions of DOJ appropriations which puts our military and their families at risk.

This right here invalidates almost all of what you said, since the DOJ has NOTHING to do with the military and funding for the DOJ is completely separate from the DOD.  Plus, Trump has not absconded with any monies.  Now, those people like Elijah Cummings, whom became millionaires while in Congress, we can actually make a case that they absconded with various monies from Congress and Lobbyists and if the Daily Caller is to be believed, his wife funneled funds from her charity to her for-profit company.

Now as for the rest of your reply. The Mexico-Canada trade deal is being held up by Congress, particularly the House, so it hasn't taken effect yet.  Obama had an average of about 1.5% growth even in his last 2 years.  He only had a couple quarters in a row in any given year that actually came close to 2% growth.  So, you are saying Nixon never visited China and that the quote "Only Nixon could go to China." is a lie?  Who said anything about reducing contributions, I said SHARING the burden.  Just because someone suddenly starts putting money into the collection at church when they haven't done so in the past doesn't mean that you will spend less on YOUR contribution to the collection.  It just means that they have decided to accept some of the burden on themselves.

You misunderstood me. The "others serving in power same as he" in my comment are not outside world leaders, they are our members in the House of Representatives. Trump's comments which sparked controversy are the tweets delivered by Twitter. This is something Trump does as well.

Should Trump tweet, in your opinion?

Life under Stalin was pretty horrific. But some people managed to escape and immigrate to the U.S. Do you think that what we should've done was turn them away-- sent them back to Stalin's USSR so they could "fix it"?

How about the Jews (as well as some other persecuted minorities) who managed to escape Nazi Germany and immigrate to the U.S. Should we have sent them back to Nazi Germany so they could "fix it"?

The Anti-Defamation League however had a different view. In a statement, ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt said:

"While ADL has publicly disagreed with these congresswomen on some issues, the president is echoing the racist talking points of white nationalists and cynically using the Jewish people and the state of Israel as a shield to double down on his remarks. Politicizing the widespread, bipartisan support for Israel and throwing around accusations of anti-Semitism is damaging to the security of Israel and the Jewish community. He should lead by example, stop politicizing these issues and stop smearing members of Congress."

Trump used a racist trope. It's like pornography, POC know it when they see it. White people do their best to ignore it or pretend it didn't happen.

Here is how Ayaan Hirsi Ali feels about Native Americans:

"When I speak of assimilation", Ali clarifies, "I mean assimilation into civilization. Aboriginals, Afghanis, Somalis, Arabs, Native Americans—all these non-Western groups have to make that transition to modernity".

Pretty fucking tone deaf IMHO.

Oh and BTW, Ayaan Hirsi Ali had a scandal about lying about her asylum status. Trump should check on her veracity.

Ayaan Hirsi Ali CHOSE a much more anti-Semite form of Islam, supported the Muslim Brotherhood and fatwa against Salman Rushdie and didn't turn away from it until she was in her late 20s. Those are choices she made as an ADULT.

It seems self serving for her to pretend that she can relate to Omar when she admits that their experiences where so different.

Hi Dean! Overall, do you know what percentage of Republican caucus-goers in 2016 were Hispanic?

Despite Trump's hardline stance on immigration, especially illegal immigration, the entrance polls found that the billionaire real estate developer was supported by 45 percent of Hispanic voters. Florida Sen. Marco Rubio was backed by 28 percent of Hispanic voters, while Texas Sen. Ted Cruz garnered 18 percent of the Hispanic vote.

Ohio Gov. John Kasich earned 4 percent of the Hispanic vote, while retired neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson received 3 percent.

"You know what I really am happy about, because I've been saying it for a long time," Trump told supporters in his victory speech early Wednesday. " 46 percent with the Hispanics ... number one with Hispanics!"

Despite the apparently impressive result, Hispanic voters only made up 8 percent of Republican caucus-goers in Nevada. By contrast, 19 percent of caucus-goers in Saturday's Democratic contest were Hispani c.

So interesting to see “Progressive” Democrat Congresswomen, who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe,
as is this
Why don’t they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came.

Trump twice claims the women  (plural) came from other countries. He said THEY should go back where THEY came from.

AOC was born in The Bronx NYC, Pressley was born in Cinncinatti, and Tlaib was born in Detroit. They are all as American as Trump is. Omar came permanently to the United States when she was 10 years old.

BF, why are you supporting a moron like President* Trump?

He's right. We have people in this country, not just Congresspeople, who came here to escape atrocities of their own shithole countries, then begin to shit on the country that took them on and bettered their life.

If they don't like what this country has done for them, then maybe a return trip to where they originated from to fix that country and make it the utopia liberals think countries should be, then return here and show it how it's done.

Cut some slack. You know how some people were really, really banking on the Great Mueller Investigation to nail the President and lead to his impeachment.

Disappointment is a bitter pill to swallow.

That's not a lie Sean. There was a reason that Mueller released the contradictory statements between Barr and his words/report.

Why do you keep posting lies?

SO you are claiming that he did not state that DOJ policy did not allow him to recommend any charges against Trump?  Now who is posting lies???

o you think Mueller was lying in his press release?

Do you think Mueller was lying in his report?

You are comparing your interpretation of what he said, or more likely FoxNews's interpretation of what he said, with his actual written statement.  Or would you care to provide a quote with what you feel he said?

It isn't curious to me, it's an MO I've become used to. This isn't the first time I've challenged the bullshit being spewed about the press release.

I read an article about the press release and since I am not one to accept a 'representation' of a document, I actually searched far and wide for it. I may be the only one here that's actually READ the fucking thing. I was not surprised that the article misrepresented the content of the press release in order to fulfill an agenda.

So whenever I see someone misrepresenting it's content, I challenge their unfounded posit. I have yet to have one member cite the content of the actual press release. They seem to think that what they've read about it is sufficient to make a cogent argument and they get pissed off when I don't accept their proclamations.

You claim to have read the release. Now please explain how it proves that the only reason Trump wasn't indicted was because of DOJ policy.

As your comments show, YOU are the one making the assertion and YOU have the burden of proof.

So PROVE that the a statement by Mueller in his press release makes it clear that the OLC policy didn't keep Mueller from indicting Trump.

You don't have to tap dance anymore Sean. All you have to do is QUOTE the statement or post a copy of the press release and point out the part that supports your posit.

Actually, Ozzwald made the assertion that at "he is POTUS and the ONLY reason he wasn't indicted is DOJ policy."

I was responding to that assertion and the vague reference to "read the Report" as the basis for that assertion.  Now, since I'm  not a troll and I'm smart enough to understand what he meant without asking silly questions and demanding links to the report, I rebutted his statement and referenced the press release as one piece of evidence that shows the falsity of his claim.  No need for histrionics about "burdens of proof."

How many posts is that now where you've refused to provide a substantive rebuttal? But like Nixon and his secret plan to end the war,  you have that secret rebuttal that you will never actually reveal. At the end of the day, you know, and I know, that I'm correct.  All your attempted  distractions and deflections and whining won't change that.

I have the data: (and more to the point, it comes from a conservative named, Shapiro):

The Attorney General has previously stated that the Special Counsel repeatedly affirmed that he was not saying that, but for the OLC opinion, he would have found the President obstructed justice. The Special Counsel's report and his statement today made clear that the office concluded it would not reach a determination - one way or the other - about whether the President committed a crime. There is no conflict between these statements.

"[U]nder longstanding department policy, a president cannot be charged with a federal crime while he is in office," Mueller said. "That is unconstitutional. Even if the charge is kept under seal and hidden from public view, that, too, is prohibited.
A special counsel’s office is part of the Department of Justice, and by regulation, it was bound by that department policy. Charging the president with a crime was therefore not an option we could consider."

"Rep. Rashida Tlaib has defended her   controversial comments   about having a “calming feeling” when she thinks about Palestinians offering a “safe haven for Jews” after the Holocaust.

The Michigan Democrat, one of two Muslim women in Congress, drew fire last week from Republicans after   speaking on the Yahoo podcast “Skullduggery,” where she was asked about her support for a one-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict

“There’s kind of a calming feeling I always tell folks when I think of the Holocaust, and the tragedy of the Holocaust, and the fact that it was my ancestors, Palestinians, who lost their land and some lost their lives, their livelihood, their human dignity, their existence in many ways, have been wiped out, and some people’s passports,” Tlaib said.

https://nypost.com/2019/05/14/rep-tlaib-defends-comments-about-palestine-holocaust/

Those statements indicate two things: 1) The speaker is ignorant of history (Palestinians NEVER OFFERED A SAFE HAVEN FOR JEWS) and 2) the speaker has very deep feelings for "her ancestors" who were Palestinians. She has demonstrated via other comments of her lack of empathy for the US and as shown here, her lack of empathy for Jews specifically. There is no question about where her true loyalties lie...She is a Palestinian first regardless of where she was born.
