Although I could not open nbcnews, I read the reports on MarketWatch and Fortune, and it's going to be BAD NEWS for users.
Says Buzz whose cell phone cost the equivalent of US$40 cash and having bought minutes for the equivalent of about US$33 four years ago (they do not expire here) am yet to use up half of them.
I've had a cellphone (electronic leash) for 30 years. I'm paying 1/3 of what I used to pay. Americans pay 5 to 10 times what everybody else on the planet pays for service. Prices on 4G will fall thru the floor as the 5G infrastructure is built. The merger by these 2 companies is to survive the new tech coming that's just over the horizon.
Nothing good every came from lack of competition.. you think we would have learned that by now.
Any time I hear mega corporations talk about win situations for consumers, I become instinctually nervous as that sounds like a mega oxymoron...
I totally agree. I can't even think of one that didn't cost more and give consumers less.

Good luck.
The Wall Street Journal is more optimistic.
I never gave up my smoke signals.
... probably more reliable
