Connor Betts: Twitter Posts on Being a Leftist, Guns
C onnor Betts , the Dayton, Ohio mass shooter, was a self-described “leftist,” who wrote that he would happily vote for Democrat Elizabeth Warren, praised Satan, was upset about the 2016 presidential election results, and added, “I want socialism, and i’ll not wait for the idiots to finally come round to understanding.”
Betts’ Twitter profile read, “he/him / anime fan / metalhead / leftist / i’m going to hell and i’m not coming back.” One tweet on his page read, “Off to Midnight Mass. At least the songs are good. #athiestsonchristmas.” The page handle? I am the spookster. On one selfie, he included the hashtags, “#selfie4satan #HailSatan @SatanTweeting.” On the date of Republican Sen. John McCain’s death, he wrote, “F*ck John McCain.” He also liked tweets referencing the El Paso mass shooting in the hours before Dayton.
Twitter has now suspended the Twitter page, removing it. It was up for several hours after the mass shooting.
On Nov. 2, 2018, he wrote: “Vote blue for gods sake.”
“This is America: Guns on every corner, guns in every house, no freedom but that to kill,” he wrote in December 2018. And, “’Tis! The pistol is a Beretta 93R, called the REK7 in BO4. Do love me some guns!” He also wrote, “Hammer, brick, gun.” On Feb. 14, 2018, he tweeted this at Sen. Rob Portman: “@robport

Sounds like a mish mash.
Your desperation to attack the left sticks out like a sore thumb. Back in the day (a few months ago) you were trying to call yourself non partisan, lol.
Is there ANYTHING at all that you dispute in the article?
That ship sailed a while ago.
Oh...the irony.....
Desperate to blame this on a 'leftist' because the killer in Texas was so obviously a right wing domestic terrorist. An obvious supporter of this 'president'.
What is there to dispute? That is what this psycho was. Should we start to measure how psychos are by how many people they kill?
Or is this is the quid pro quo for the other lunatic being right wing racist? Is this what we have come to?
smh.
The sad truth is that some would like to mitigate the meaning of the El Paso shooting (white nationalism) by claiming that this misfit Connor Betts was just as bad but on the other other side.
The El Paso shooter was specifically trying to advance an ideology , as seen in his own words pertaining to the killings.
No one has a clue what Connor Betts was trying to say.
Play what? So he was a mentally f'd up liberal, if that is the case. Where is his manifesto? Where did he threaten violence against conservatives? Where does he say he wanted to kill on behalf of leftist ideals?
You are reaching to mitigate the damage from El Paso just like you did on other threads by bringing up Chicago.
Even if true, is it some sort of justification? Making it a tit for tat is dismissing the obvious.
There is a major problem in society.
It amazes me that people will dismiss that most of these types of things are committed by right wing 'white supremacist' people. It is like they look for something, anything, that would put a doubt on the facts.
It is a look over here, see it is you people too.
Like you said, just trying to muddy the reality.
Shame that some will not even admit that having someone in our highest office calling people derogatory names, belittling people, saying nasty things and outright lying...is part of the problem.
Instead spend their time looking for an ah hah, got you moment.
The shooter in El Paso politicized his actions by posting a xenophobic racist screed just before he murdered 20 people and TERRORIZED many more.
BTFW, I think it's pretty sick to view all of this as some kind of game.
So he killed nine people in a bar on behalf of socialism, is that your story?
Go team !
Kill one for the Gipper...
This centrist liberal doesn't identify with that whacko.
News reports coming out now are saying that the Dayton shooter was a stereotypical white loner who was a sexually frustrated masochistic junior ROTC type gun lover who obsessed about torturing and killing women. Politics does not even appear to be a part his motivation to kill. The far rightwing white nationalist types are so desperate to pin the Dayton Massacre on the shooter's political bent to try and distract the public's attention away from the wave of atrocities America is currently suffering that are being committed almost daily by homegrown rightwing white nationalist domestic terrorists...
no ender this is how I see it , ever since Gilroy last week its been touted as no left winger or left leaner has commited such an act , it has been stated that it is only right leaning wingers that do such things. if this turns out to be true , that argument is no longer valid and the extremism has to be recognized from both sides.
What I see common in all of the last 3 incidents are kids barely old enough to vote from both sides , being fed rations of racist crap from BOTH sides that they have lost hope for their own personal future and prosperity. 2 out of the 3 perps are dead and that's not even thinking of their victims , basically they all committed suicide by cop and tried to take as many as they could with the, THAT is a sad commentary on American politics .
I have a very simple definition of what racism is , it is letting the color or race of an individual dictate how they will be treated.
In 2020 it will be 40 years since I started voting , and I am proud to say , I have never KNOWINGLY voted for a racist. its something that was mentioned often enough I took it into consideration when considering whom I would vote for. I didn't vote for Trump in 16, likely wont in 20, he hasn't changed in the time he has been president , but before that gets those on the left all giddy , for the same reasons they call trump a racist , I see the accepted racist flavor on the left from each and every democratic candidate in the race so far , when they use their pandering to identity politics , so those racists , wont be getting my vote either whomever wins the nomination. How do you keep racists out of government? don't vote for them.
So it doesn't even make me wonder why these young people are looking at whats being said from both sides and feeling they will be blamed for something they never did in the past before they were born , and have lost any hope for themselves and their generation , because that's exactly whats being pumped at them from both sides of the political isle from idiots old enough to know better but are so intent on winning for their parties or political flavors preferred , they will denigrate anyone whom doesn't have the same view or opinion as they do come out of these kids mouths .
So there is none that have spoken here that is blameless because they have let it be gotten away with for so long, myself included, they all have blood on their hands , and time to face the fact that if you participate in pandering identity politics and tribalism , you are a racist, live with it.
I will wait to see the facts. regardless, it doesn't matter.
You are doing the same as the fish. Just trying to celebrate that it may not have been one of your own.
Sad really. If not cold hearted.
Except that over 90% of the mass atrocities suffered by Americans in 2018 were committed by homegrown rightwing white nationalist domestic terrorists. The rest were an assortment of generic apolitical mass murderers. False equivalencies are after all...false! There has has been no such rash of leftwing mass killings that compares with the recent spate of mass atrocities committed by rightwing domestic terrorists in America...
It proves no such thing. The majority of these crimes are well known as are the screed, affiliation and hatred.
No matter how anyone tries to spin it, two in ten does not a majority make.
And those two will be widely condemned. I would not try to justify it and make false claims and try to say it is all equal. It is not.
Again, when we have a president that can act presidential, not act like an idiot and call people names, put people down, be nasty to others...when one defends this, they have lost any argument they may think they are conveying.
You may not be actively defending like some do yet I have never heard any criticism either. So blame 'both sides' all you want. I can see clearly. I can read clearly and I sure as hell know where people stand. I can and have and will call out any asshole that is in my party. Unlike others.
You are doing nothing but perpetuating the cycle.
Left leaning posters always do what? Call you on what you stand for and actually do?
Oh the shame....
The criticism I choose to make is with my vote especially if I didn't vote for the individual in the first place.
Again, when we have a president that can act presidential, not act like an idiot and call people names, put people down, be nasty to others..
You mean like Obama was when he called people bitter clingers , and jumped on the deplorable bandwagon ? Never told his followers that those that opposed him might NOT be racists but had different political ideas that disagreed with his? I lived through 8 years of his rhetoric as idiotic as I thought it was. I will live through trump , and whomever comes after him .
So what are you doing to break this perpetuating cycle from both sides? or will you also perpetuate the cycle as long as the political winds blow the way you want. At least im on record saying I wont be knowingly voting for racists by my simple definition.
You don't get rid of racism by fighting it WITH racism.
So are you actually trying to say that because Obama complained about racism that it was not actually there?
We all know the racist memes and racist rhetoric that became prevalent when he was in office. We all know the birth certificate rhetoric had more meaning than the document itself. All of the Kenya, communist (laughable now), socialist, hates America bullshit that we had to put up with for years on end. Continuing to this day.
And again, you might not have voted for trump yet still have not decried anything he has done. Yet will Obama. Says a lot right there.
I do not see racism as a political wind. I see it as endemic. I see it as being perpetuated by people refusing to call out xenophobic comments by the idiot in our highest office. I see people claiming that both sides do it as a defence.
Unfucking real. When I see it on my side I will call it out. Seems others are unwilling to do the same.
Yeah. That major problem is that nobody gives a flying fuck about gun violence as long as it's just black kids getting shot.
Do you actually believe that to be true?
I mean, we all know it is for some...
Depends on how you define "mass".
When people are trying to inflate the number of "mass shootings" they define them as any shooting with more than one victim. Under that definition, the white nationalists fade into oblivion when compared to the sheer volume of street violence occurring nightly in this country.
Why don't we compare domestic violence. Or maybe accidental shootings.
By all means, the statistics are correct but let us dismiss that for a moment and look over here...
I didn't complain about Obama then , and wont complain about trump now , my criticism of both their actions rests in my vote , Obama never got mine , and trump didn't get mine ,I will save my individual criticisms until AFTER they leave office, it still remains to be seen IF he gets the nomination and is the actual candidate on the ballot, a lot can change between now and the conventions . as for the primaries , being registered independent I cant vote in them here .
You want a criticism of trump? ok , I think he is the worst public speaker , bar none that I have ever heard , he is also one of the most bombastic egotistical socially inept idiots I have ever seen. I am glad I didn't vote for him in 16 and im not about to change my mind and vote for him if he gets the nomination in 20.
In that respect he had the same problem with me that Hllary had , didn't like em and didn't trust em. so didn't vote for them.
John did nothing of the sort. Who is politicizing tragedy with this seed?
A mass shooting is defined as 4 or more.
It is a game for those who get their jollies playing the blame game. And there are always plenty of players.
With all due respect, John, this Connor Betts is just as bad as the El Paso guy. Hell, he killed his own sister!
I'm pretty sure that doesn't knock urban street violence off the top spot.
Out of curiosity, who sets that number?
Gee I missed your comment like this on Johns seed when he spent all day saying the El Paso shooter was a representative of the right. /s
Before the election, Trump demonstrated: misogyny, bigotry, racism, narcissism, thin-skinnedness, infantile behavior, incredible stupidity, spitefulness, monumental mendacity, and his history of failures and bankruptcies were amply documented. Hillary is a rational, intelligent woman with a massive amount of experience. She had been attacked by Republicans for 30 years. Was there a conviction for some crime, an indictment, or even an arrest? No, she was the most vetted person to ever run for president.
She was too hawkish for me, but I voted for her because I can tell the difference between an imperfect candidate, and an epically unqualified piece of shit.
jump , Hillary could have been running for local dog catcher and promised to pay for her own pork chops to tie to her neck and ass to attract the stray dogs and I STILL wouldn't have voted for her .
Yep. I think that they don't understand (or don't want to understand) exactly what "pay for play" meant. For those who missed it, it means TAKING BRIBES.
There was no fucking pay for play going on with the Clintons
I didnt say he is any less bad. I said there is zero evidence he did it because he is a liberal or leftist. Maybe he did it because he thought there was too much noise coming from inside the bar.
The seed is connecting his shooting up a bar to the fact that he liked Elizabeth Warren on Facebook. The premise is very weak. Then there is the implication that this motive is an equivalency to the opposite political motivation in ElPaso, again with no evidence whatsoever.
Let's look at this from a liberal's logic..
Prove there was no pay to play with the Clintons.
Nope ttga needs to prove there WAS
You can't have it both ways. Many liberals on here are well known to demand proof that something didn't happen. So, let's go with that logic. Prove there wasn't.
No, TTGA needs to prove there was, and he can't, because there wasn't any pay to play
Even if you saw the election as between Hitler and Mussolini, a responsible person would vote for Mussolini. Not voting or voting for a third party candidate in the last election was totally irresponsible.
So prove there wasn't.
No a responsible person bent on self preservation would have left the country with those two choices amd moved to Spain and Franco , and thank you for godwins law. you have nothing . go back to whining because your candidate lost legally and fair and square due to her being so disliked .
You didn't miss anything KD. John didn't infer that he was PLAYING at anything in that seed hence there was no need for me to comment in kind.
You do?
Yes.
Honestly.....yeah, I do.
I'm a numbers guy, and have coached football and basketball for 28 years. So I look at the numbers and I've been blessed to coach about 2300 young black men. The whole situation chaps my ass.
When I look at the number of young black men killed in incidents of gun violence every year and how it dwarfs these mass shooting numbers, and then I look at the complete non-reaction to the former and the hysteria about the latter, it sends a pretty clear message.
The worst thing is that young black men have been dying by the thousands and tens of thousands for decades, and nobody says a word. Between 1980 and 2013, we lost 260,000 black men to homicide. That's nearly 8,000/yr, and the overwhelming majority involve HAND guns.
But the only time we want to talk about gun control is when a few white people get shot with an AK-47 or AR-15. Then we want to blame the gun because we're too soft to blame the person and too comfortable to change the environment that produced him.
The only time we talk about black kids is when we use them to skewer some poor cop who just made the worst mistake of his life.
Well...what about the thousands of black men who are murdered every year intentionally? Why aren't we talking about them?
Only those who can't think for themselves and listen to the loudest talker in the crowd.
Ya some guy killed some people in Texas BUTT what about the liberal in Ohio, now there's a REAL issue. /S
The thing I found the most ironic is the comment about Fuck John McCain. I can't count how many conservative right here who have expressed the same sentiment...
Your last sentence is correct. In other words---"We have met the enemy and he is us." Pogo.
The level of oblivious denial and stupidity by the right on this issue is staggering. We have people actually saying that the guy shot up a BAR in Dayton because he wants socialism. Why do we think he wants socialism? Because he said he would be willing to vote for Elizabeth Warren. lol. Warren has specifically said she is a capitalist.
Here's how stupid such arguments are. Was Connor Betts a Cleveland Browns fan? A Cleveland Cavs fan? Maybe he shot up the bar for those reasons. Maybe he likes crossword puzzles. Perhaps that has something to do with it. This is to point out that everyone has political beliefs and hobbies and some sort of social affiliations or preferences. Unless there is an actual indication that one of his affiliations motivated him directly or indirectly to attack a BAR we have to assume they may not have.
How about he was socially rejected, particularly by women, or he felt as though he was, so he went to a place where people socialize (drinking, dancing) and where he knew there would be young women having fun. That sounds to me like the possible source of his violence, not the fact that he would consider voting for Elizabeth Warren.
Not such a nice kid when he killed his own sister and he had a 'hit list' and a 'rape list' of girls he wanted to sexually assaulted. He would have died a virgin I imagine if not killed by the police.
He was a sexually frustrated Incel...but that's redundant
Yeah he did have a lot of the characteristics of the left didn't he?
Classmates: Ohio shooter kept a 'hit list' and a 'rape list'
DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — High school classmates of the gunman who killed nine people early Sunday in Dayton, Ohio, say he was suspended for compiling a "hit list" of those he wanted to kill and a "rape list" of girls he wanted to sexually assault.
The accounts by two former classmates emerged after police said there was nothing in the background of 24-year-old Connor Betts that would have prevented him from purchasing the .223-caliber rifle with extended ammunition magazines that he used to open fire outside a crowded bar. Police on patrol in the entertainment district fatally shot him less than a minute later.
Both former classmates told The Associated Press that Betts was suspended during their junior year at suburban Bellbrook High School after a hit list was found scrawled in a school bathroom. That followed an earlier suspension after Betts came to school with a list of female students he wanted to sexually assault, according to the two classmates, a man and a woman who are both now 24 and spoke on condition of anonymity out of concern they might face harassment.
"There was a kill list and a rape list, and my name was on the rape list," said the female classmate.
A former cheerleader, the woman said she didn't really know Betts and was surprised when a police officer called her cellphone during her freshman year to tell her that her name was included on a list of potential targets.
"The officer said he wouldn't be at school for a while," she said. "But after some time passed he was back, walking the halls. They didn't give us any warning that he was returning to school."
Bellbrook-Sugarcreek Schools officials declined to comment on those accounts, only confirming that Betts attended schools in the district.
The discovery of the hit list early in 2012 sparked a police investigation, and roughly one-third of Bellbrook students skipped school out of fear, according to an article in the Dayton Daily News.
It's not clear what became of that investigation. Chief Michael Brown in Sugarcreek Township, which has jurisdiction over the Bellbrook school, did not return calls Sunday about whether his agency investigated the hit list.
Though Betts, who was 17 at the time, was not named publicly by authorities at the time as the author of the list, the former classmates said it was common knowledge within the school he was the one suspended over the incident.
Drew Gainey was among those who went on social media Sunday to say red flags were raised about Betts' behavior years ago.
"There was an incident in high school with this shooter that should have prevented him from ever getting his hands on a weapon. This was a tragedy that was 100% avoidable," he wrote on in a Twitter post on Sunday.
Gainey did not respond to messages from AP seeking further comment, but the name on his account matches that of a former Bellbrook student who was on the track team with Betts.
Former Bellbrook Principal Chris Baker said he "would not dispute that information" when the Daily News asked him Sunday about the hit list suspension. He declined to comment further to the newspaper and the AP was unable to reach him.
Betts had no apparent criminal record as an adult, though if he had been charged as a juvenile that would typically be sealed under state law.
"There's nothing in this individual's record that would have precluded him from getting these weapons," Dayton Police Chief Richard Biehl said Sunday.
Not everyone who went to school with Betts had bad things to say. Brad Howard told reporters in Bellbrook on Sunday that he was friends with Betts from preschool through their high school graduation.
"Connor Betts that I knew was a nice kid. The Connor Betts that I talked to, I always got along with well," Howard said.
Mike Kern, a customer at the gas station where Betts used to work in Bellbrook, said he hasn't seen Betts in about a year.
"He was the nicest kid you could imagine," always friendly, Kern said. "I never heard him talk about violence, say a racist word, or anything like that."
He said they sometimes played trivia at a bar near the gas station, and Betts often knew the answers on questions about current events and pop culture.
"He was real smart," Kern said. "He knew all the answers."

Biesecker reported from Washington. AP reporters Reese Dunklin in Dallas, John Seewer in Bellbrook and Michael Kunzelman in Silver Spring, Maryland, contributed to this report.
Thanks for the bulletin. He kept a hit list and a rape list. That sure sounds insane. Here is what a supposedly "sane" congressman did:

Sad to see so many San Antonians as 2019 maximum donors to Donald Trump — the owner of

When will Elizabeth sanders apologize for inciting domestic left wing terrorism?
Who is this Elizabeth Sanders you speak of? What domestic terrorist killing did she inspire and how?
'domestic left wing terrorism'
No such thing.
Just wow.
You never cease to amaze.
I guess the guy who shot up a baseball field full of Congressional Republicans was just "mentally ill"...no domestic left wing terrorism there. /s
Motivated by the SPLC.
Bullshit, the SPLC doesn't stir up killers, they point out the right wing extremists domestic terrorists, hate groups.
How many did he kill?
Do you even know the definition of terrorism?
The SPLC doesn't stir up killlers
The family research council shooter said otherwise.
Who the fuck is the 'family research council' shooter?
You obviously don't.
Are you disappointed? It is still terrorism, domestic left wing terrorism. But, please continue to blather ignorant statements.
Thank goodness no one was killed because the Capitol Police where on site.
Support for Southern Poverty Law Center links Scalise, Family Research Council shooters
So Tessylo, what do you, Raven Wing and Lady in Black (the two who thumbed up your comment that the SPLC doesn't stir up killers) have to say about that?
I see there's been so many domestic left wing terrorist attacks that you can't keep track of them. You make my point for me.
Nope, only one that you can name, and he didn't kill anyone.
The United States has already suffered more mass atrocities this year than there have been days so far and yet some dumbass yahoos are still desperately trying to find ways to blame it all on liberals. They have been scapegoating liberals for everything for so long it is like a tic with them. Nevermind that this nation is suffering on average more than one mass killings per day RIGHT NOW at the bloody hands of homegrown rightwing white nationalist domestic terrorists...
Nobody is saying that there have never ever been any instances of terrorism committed by far left wing radicals. Of course there have been. Bad shit when it rarely happens. That just is not what the big problem facing America right now today at this time in the United States of America in 2019...
I can imagine enemies of this country trying to deny the truth that our current pressing crisis in the USA is the current ongoing practically daily incidences of homegrown rightwing white nationalist domestic terrorism!
Agreed.
I leave that to you.
You need to get that chip off your shoulder and stop worrying about who votes up each others' comments.
The SPLC does not stir up killers for fucks' sake.
Apparently not.
Looks like there is...see #8
Referring left wing terrorism, shootings, and violence to "instances" is only showing the bias. Right and left wing terrorism is a problem. Regardless of the political view, the individuals are responsible for their own actions.

Actually it does. The terrorist attack on the Family Research Council HQ is an example of such. Fortunately he was stopped before he could execute his mission.
So liberal logic says you have to kill someone for the left to label them a terrorist.
What the fuck is going on in the mind of a liberal?
Sad isn't it. They think it is a competition.
You talk about ME having a chip on my shoulder!!!
Floyd Corkins.
Connor Betts might not have shared 100% of the same ideology as the El Paso guy, but I believe he was motivated by the success of the El Paso guy.
I read this morning that this guy killed his sister and her boyfriend. The three of them drove together to the Oregon District. I wonder if they knew what was coming. Did they help him somehow? Did they participate? In any event, their deaths were part of the plan, maybe not theirs, but certainly the shooter's.
I havent read everything about it but it seems that his hatred or fear of or uncomfortableness around women had something to do with it. It sure wasnt done in support of Elizabeth Warren as someone suggested on another seed.
Wow, you are on a roll today with ignorant and false information...
It's amazing how some on the left can go to extremes to try to tie a piece of shit to another party, but then when someone one says I'm a left wing socialist who loves Pocahontas they get real stupid all of a sudden.
You honestly dont see the difference between someone who writes a 2300 word declaration of why he did it, and someone who said on Instagram that he might vote for Elizabeth Warren ?
Either people on internet forums lie or they are easily led around.
They still haven't been able to find a clear motive for this killing, no manifesto was left and one of the victims was his own sister.
"It seems to just defy believability he would shoot his own sister, but it's also hard to believe that he did not recognize that was his sister" in the path of gunfire, Dayton Police Chief Richard Biehl said.
" Six of nine slain are African American but police still can't say whether race could have been a motivating factor."
"Just based on where we're at now, we are not seeing any indication of race being a motive. But we are not through all the evidence. And so until we're through all the evidence, we cannot rule that out. But I’m saying we're not seeing any at this time to suggest race is a motive." - Dayton Police Chief Richard Biehl
Biehl said the siblings rode to the city's popular Oregon District with another person who was injured in the attack. But Biehl could not say whether those relationships prompted the shooting, which began just after 1 a.m. as the bars were closing down.
Betts' first victim was shot in an alley. He then emerged onto a street, where Megan (Betts' sister), a student at Wright State University in Dayton, was among the first to die, police said.
Seems pretty thin to try and claim this was somehow "leftwing terrorism" as some have tried to do. In the other recent killings, the motives were clear, they clearly stated what they were doing and why. In this case, there's no obvious motive or stated reasons by the shooter so it may be a while till they unravel this.
hey still haven't been able to find a clear motive for this killing
Per the progressives on this board, that doesn't matter. By the rules the progressives on this board were playing by just last week, citing a report that 98.5% of killings were done by right wing extremists, the Dayton murders were extremist related murders committed by a left wing extremist.
That completely defies all logic. Citing facts from a report to show that the vast majority of domestic terrorism is right wing doesn't in any way mean the Dayton murders were "left wing".
The facts: 98% of domestic terror killings last year were committed by extremists inspired by right wing ideology.
The majority of those killings were by right wing extremists that left clear motives for their actions, leaving manifestos or lengthy social media rants.
In this case, we have a twitter profile that seem to indicate he liked anime, heavy metal and supposedly "leftist" if theheavy.com is to be believed. He had also been suspended while in high school for making a rape list and a kill list, so he's likely a deranged incel regardless of whether he leaned right or left politically. But so far nothing stating any sort of motive.
But nice try at false equivalency Sean. Keep swinging, the guys in the dugout appreciate the breeze off all those whiffs.
a report to show that the vast majority of domestic terrorism is right wing doesn't in any way mean the Dayton murders were "left wing"
. I applied the standards of that report to this situation. Funny to watch the people who threw that report around last week (almost certainly without reading it) now run away from it's methodology. But not surprising.
98% of domestic terror killings last year were committed by extremists inspired by right wing ideology.
If you actually understand the report, then you will claim this murder was inspired by "left wing ideology"
No, you didn't.
What are you talking about? The report hasn't changed in the slightest. Also, the report didn't make the other recent right wing shooters write their manifestos and these recent killings weren't being counted.
By the "standards applied" in the article, we should assume this was right wing inspired violence considering that the facts show that the VAST majority of domestic terror attacks are inspired by right wing ideology. If you had read and/or understood the article, you'd likely agree since it wasn't coy about its conclusions.
That means, when there is no evidence of a motive in a mass shooting, its safe to assume it might have been right wing inspired violence unless otherwise notified.
If statistics showed 98% of the time a roulette wheel at your local Casino landed on "red", I'd put my money on "red". And I'd be surprised if and when that rare 2% chance of landing on "blue" happens.
And if someone came up and said "Hey, the roulette wheel just landed on a color, what do you think that color is?" I wouldn't hesitate to say "red most likely".
In the last week we've had numerous right wing inspired terrorists kill many people. I posted a link to articles pointing out that 98% of the domestic terror attacks last year were also right wing inspired terror attacks. Now we have this shooting in Dayton where we have no clear motive, no manifesto, no raging against any group in particular just before gunning down his own sister along with six black Americans and two others of unknown ethnicity. I'd still bet on right wing inspired violence, but I'll admit, it might just be the 2% anomaly so I'll wait for more details before coming to any conclusion.
Well, it would be monumentally ignorant to assume that the categorizing of "right wing terror" attacks talked about in the article were based on the assessment of "right wing" simply because of some random words like "right wing" or "leftist" on their twitter profile, which they didn't. They were all very clearly defined as right wing inspired terrorists having evidence of their connection to an extremist group or movement.
"To be included in the tally of extremist-related killings,
it is not enough for an incident, by its nature, to seem as
if it could have been committed by an extremist. Rather,
there must be positive evidence connecting the murderer
to an extremist group or movement. This is why one
deadly incident that many have speculated had ties to
white supremacy is not included in this report: the Kroger
grocery store shootings of October 2018."
Apparently you're having trouble understanding the article about right wing terrorism, because if you understood it you wouldn't be drawing any comparisons to the Dayton shooting. Maybe try reading it again and it will sink in.
I read it and the study it's based on which I linked above as well. There is ZERO evidence this Bett's guy was connected to any "left wing" extremist groups, the police have no clue as to a motive, the best any morons have here is an attempt to smear him with his Twitter profile words of "leftist". All the supposed "hail satan" and that he's a metal fan and likes anime doesn't in any way tie him to any "left wing extremist" groups as you keep falsely claiming.
What I'm saying is hey, he might be for all we know, the facts aren't out yet, maybe he is one of the 2%. Odds aren't good though. If I had to bet it would be that this kid did consider himself on the left, was an anarchist and also a huge bigot who didn't like his sister hanging out with or perhaps dating a black friend as he seemed to open fire on her and her group killing six black Americans along with his sister and two others. I'd guess he's likely a white supremacist but perhaps not affiliated with any specific extremist groups which is why it wasn't readily apparent on a cursory investigation which is why the police are still looking for a motive.
So you think he was a white supremacist who lacked conviction and self identified as a leftist?
good thing that's not what I'm doing!
ere all very clearly defined as right wing inspired terrorists having evidence of their connection to an extremist group or movement
The ADL had no problem claiming that liking racist posts on Facebook or a having a neighbor telling a reporter that a killer was racist counts as extremism.. And CNN reports that the Dayton shooter who posted about "killing all fascists" re-tweeted extreme left-wing posts as well as tweets supporting violent protest group Antifa.
So by the ADL standards, he's a left wing extremist.
l. There is ZERO evidence this Bett's guy was connected to any "left wing" extremist group
First, you obviously still don't understand the standards the ADL uses. Second, dylan roof wasn't connected to a group. Are you arguing he wasn't an extremist? Or that no one self radicalizes?
he police have no clue as to a motive
You really either didn't read or don't understand the report you cite. Many of the actual "right wing killings" cited in your report have nothing to do with ideology. If a guy who was in a prison white supremacist gang kills his wife for cheating on him years later, your report counts it as right wing violence. You obviously need to read the report again and concentrate on the actual crimes that were counted. Those crimes, that have nothing to do with political views, are included to scare gullible fools and make the threat seem more dramatic than it really is.
Although, a psychological autopsy is time consuming and expensive, IMO it is warranted in this case.
AT least you consistent in making excuses for left wing terrorist.
