Trump Fires John Bolton Over Taliban Talks Disagreement

I informed John Bolton last night that his services are no longer needed at the White House. I disagreed strongly with many of his suggestions, as did others in the Administration, and therefore....

...I asked John for his resignation, which was given to me this morning. I thank John very much for his service. I will be naming a new National Security Advisor next week.

NBC News is reporting that the firing came because Bolton did not agree with the aborted Taliban negotiations last week.

Trump hates people with knowledge, and if they're not sycophants ... forget it. You can only tell Trump what he wants to hear, which is dangerous in a president.

Did you read the tweet Pence supposedly put out - which was clearly written by Trump? It's a clear sign of his narcissistic personality disorder that this crap doesn't even embarrass him. He couldn't care less when he's caught in a lie.

I thought Liberals thought him to be too big of a "Hawk" and someone to be loathed, especially during the Iraq War !

So many 1000's of articles about "Liberals" hate of John Bolton !

Liberals should be throwing a Party right now over this TRUMP decision ! jrSmiley_24_smiley_image.gif

Yep, now the libbies are all in love with Bolton, the hawk, whose only experience or interest in life is going to war, or prolonging one..

They refuse to believe that Trump wants less foreign involvement and bringing most of the troops home from that shit hole region.

However, the great unwashed masses the left is counting on to get them into the WH knows better

I am happy that Bolton is gone. Maybe we can continue getting the hell out of Afghanistan- something that should have been done a long time ago.

If Bolton and Trump clashed repeatedly, then Bolton had to go. He wouldn't resign so he was fired. Or do you think some of those that resigned while working for the Obama administration wouldn't have been fired if they hadn't left on their own accord?

I am hoping you are being sarcastic and aren't trying to imply anything remotely close to that statement.

I am happy that Bolton is gone. Maybe we can continue getting the hell out of Afghanistan- something that should have been done a long time ago.

Bolton is a known quantity, Bolton should never have been hired in the first place.

If Bolton and Trump clashed repeatedly, then Bolton had to go.

Because Trump cannot abide by anyone disagreeing with him.  Trump can never and will never admit to being wrong about anything.  Anyone that says Trump is wrong, will not be around Trump for long.

He wouldn't resign so he was fired.

Are you sure???

READ: John Bolton's resignation letter

Or do you think some of those that resigned while working for the Obama administration wouldn't have been fired if they hadn't left on their own accord?

There is absolutely no evidence to support that claim.  You are being disingenuous and misleading with that statement.

Trump has a revolving door in his administration and cabinet, it has gotten so bad that nobody wants the jobs, which is why the best he can do is either "acting" employees, hiring relatives, or hiring from FoxNews.

This has been coming for a long time as evidenced by this June 21, 2019 article.

The untenability of President Bolton

The question, surely, should be: why is it ‘Bolton vs. Trump’? Is Bolton not subordinate to the president? Bolton takes pains to insist that, as national security adviser, he does not set policy — the president does. That doesn’t seem to be the case, however.

It’s a precarious position for the NSA to be in. The apex of one’s power can also be the apogee of one’s exposure. Ambassador Bolton has been jokingly referred to as ‘President Bolton ’ in national security circles for months, a potential mark of death. Many Trump officials — Steve Bannon and James Mattis most prominently come to mind, for differing reasons — have been dubbed ‘deputy presidents’ for a time only to find that the president didn’t approve of the apparent diss to his authority. Only ties of family have saved the current deputy president Jared Kushner.

Bolton may not be so lucky. The president and the ambassador openly don’t agree, and aren’t personally close. Pompeo, who will seek the presidency after Trump, does not want to be the Donald Rumsfeld of the Iran war. And Bannon, who as I reported laid the original groundwork for Bolton to become NSA, told Virginia Trump chair and radio host John Fredericks Friday morning: ‘This Iran thing is very disturbing.’

‘NSAs are advisers, not policy makers,’ retired Col. Douglas Macgregor , a favorite of Fox News host Tucker Carlson told me Friday. Carlson has been instrumental in talking the president away from the course of his more wily advisers. And, as I’ve reported, Macgregor is seen in administration circles as an NSA in waiting. ‘Ideally,’ Macgregor says, national security advisers ‘should be seen, not heard.’

Well Curt Mills apparently predicted this correctly.  Will he be correct about Macgregor also?

this isn't done yet, plenty of acrimony left with those 2 over inflated egos. after using a rwnj media outlet as a springboard, bolton will announce his run for the white house in the near future. start a PAC, milk some cash from the never trumpers, and walk with most of it after getting blown out of the fascist primaries by signing 2 pieces of paper.

it's certainly confusing.

Bolton said he offered to resign the previous evening but he was at the WH for a 1PM NSC presser which the WH confirmed

around 11:30AM.

Bolton was seen in the WH driveway on his cell phone around 10:30AM, no Secret Service "escort" etc.

Trump then tweets out that he fired Bolton the evening before.

Instead of Bolton doing a press conference about national security issues,

Pompous and Munchkin held a brief briefing described by the Washington Post journalist

as a shit show ( on a hot mike).

He shouldn't have ever been chosen in the first place, but his departure is just another example of how chaotic this President is. This is the 3rd National Security Advisor fired in 3 years. No other President in history has gone through so many of his own staff picks so quickly. It is more evidence of the disease that has deeply infected this white house, and the only light at the end of the tunnel is the fact that his sorry ass is getting kicked out come January 2021 at the very latest. That's if Mike Pence doesn't form a political coup from within the administration and Republican Senate, release all the damaging information we all know he's collected on this vile worthless piece of crap President which the congressional Democrats will surely use to impeach him, and then Pence will run as the Republican candidate in 2020 free of the pussy grabbing clown. Pence has a reputation as an anti-abortion extremist. If he runs for president he will only energize the MAJORITY that wants to protect Roe V Wade.   Pence's side of the argument is a minority.   You dont win elections that way.

Do you really think that lame straw man is going to stand up and walk on its own? Democrats are not for "unregulated illegal immigration", that is TOTAL bullshit. They are not for "free everything", just more lies dripping from your mouth. They DO NOT SUPPORT unrestricted abortion and there is no such thing as a "fourth trimester". Is this really what masquerades as intelligence in right wing circles? I can't really imagine most right wingers actually believe that nonsense. Most Americans want the same things, safe streets, good schools, good jobs, a secure border with a fair and legal immigration process which continues to make America even greater as we welcome diversity and support higher education and quality job training. The horse shit filled straw man you create does nothing to help real Americans, it simply further divides an already fractured society.

Your problem is you fall for right wing media and think that all Democrats are left wing radicals.

Whoever the nominee is, they will run from a center position, with looking to the future for more progressive advancements.

Watch Warren. If she wins the nomination she will run as a "centrist".  America will inevitably become more progressive because that is the shape of the future, but it will be gradual.

Just another one of trumps "best people", fired. Seems odd, if trump only hires the best people, why does he keep firing them?

Weird.

Seems odd

What is odd is that some on the left are now complaining after Trump fired someone else they previously hated and wanted fired.

They aren't complaints Tex, just observations of what seems to be an almost everyday occurrence of the shit show in the WH.

Trump Fired John Bolton For Not Being Pro-Taliban Enough

In 2014 Trump tweeted that Obama was a fool for trying to negotiate with the taliban which of course led the right to scream that Obama was a Muslim. Guess that makes trump a Muslim and a fool.

Tucker Carlson seriously, no joke, called Bolton a leftist. The king of the warhawks, and was hired by trump....is a leftist.

And then people wonder why normal people laugh when someone shows up using fox news as fact based news...  What a joke.. LOL

Of course, there are those among us who realize that Tucker Carlson is a commentator, not a newsman.

What were you doing watching Tucker Carlson?  From the day Bolton was brought in I never expected him to last long. He was an advocate for intervention and the President wants as many troops brought home as possible. I wonder if this is the end of the man we used to call the ambassador? I still visualize him coming out of the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy at Tufts University on a Friday afternoon. Getting into that black limousine on the way to Logan Airport. That was a long time ago!

Bolton was such a hot mess even Bush and crew tired of him. Unbelievable he was ever able to get his foot back in the door but since not one intelligent person bothered to look at his record and made the foolish mistake to take him on, there can't be enough said about what bad decisions this administration has made on every front.

One thing can be said for Bolton - he's nobody's yes man. The best quality for an adviser.

Though a quality that Trump cannot countenance.

Those who never liked Bolton shouldn't be suddenly lamenting his firing. Think back to when Trump hired him.

Trump fired him for policy differences. Trump knew there were differences when he hired him. It's important to hear from all perspectives, but nobody gets to make an unauthorized statement to the leader of North Korea, not even the Stache!

Trump fired him cause of his far inferior, and tremendously smaller, moustache marvel, and obviously, MUCH smaller upper lipp , respectfully.

Disrespectfully slipped by Trumps taste savior, as Trump is his own personal best taste, savior, and his own favorite taste flavor

Orange pulp fiction affliction, as he can't convey a truth depiction, to save his families life, as there can ONLY BE ONE !

I haven't seen anyone 'lamenting his firing'. Most are commenting on the fact that Trump is lying about firing Bolton.

I commented on the FACT that Trump wants yes men as advisors. Demanding that from an advisor, especially the NSA is just another illustration of Trump's narcissism.

Think back to when Trump hired him.

Sure. Why did Trump hire Bolton as NSA when they disagree on almost every foreign policy issue? It's not like Bolton's opposing opinions weren't well known.

Really Dean?

Please post links to the public comments made by Bolton while NSA that contradicted Trump's policy prior to being fired.
