This means it is almost certain that Trump will be impeached. The committees are already writing up the charges.

I disagree. There is no way the Republicans will ever vote for impeachment, no matter what Trump does. If the transcript of his call turns out to be bad, it won't matter to them in the slightest.

Impeached is not removal. Impeachment is entirely decided by the House. Removal is in the Senate.

The House conducts impeachments followed by a trial in the Senate. Removal requires both impeachment by the House and conviction by the Senate. If the House impeaches Trump then McConnell will have no other options than to conduct a trial in the Senate. At that point it would only take a few republicans voting to convict Trump in the Senate to remove him. I believe that might be a lot more doable than you presume. Half the gop in the Senate secretly loaths and despises Trump. If come closer to the election it looks like Trump will sink republicans in races all across the country in 2020 the gop may do the deed. The conventional wisdom is off the table when it comes to Donald Trump...

Comical that those on progressive liberal left screaming for impeachment ignore or do not seem to realize is that impeachment does not necessarily mean removal from office. Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton were both impeached and both stayed in office.

You may have a point but there is this.........................

" An official who has been briefed on the matter, however, told CNN that the whistleblower “didn’t have direct knowledge of the communications.” The official said that the concerns and subsequent complaint came in part from the whistleblower “learning information that was not obtained during the course of their work.”

EXCEPT....

The inspector general investigated the complaint and deemed it credible , forwarding it to the acting director as required, according to a letter from the inspector general released by House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff.

If it was a nothing burger, it would never have made it past the inspector general.

Then of course there is the small fact that the Trump administration is violating the law blocking the House's access to the report.

The acting director of national intelligence under Trump, Joseph Maguire, is not allowing the whistleblower’s report to be shared with Congress, even though the IG found it to be credible and of urgent concern.

You are assuming the Senate will not vote to convict. I think you may be surprised how many republicans will vote to get rid of Trump when given the chance. Many republicans in the Senate loath Trump but they are afraid of him. Do you really think Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio won't vote to convict? They aren't the only ones. If the House impeaches Trump McConnell will have no choice but to conduct Trump's trial in the Senate. At that point all bets are off especially as republicans are more and more seeing Trump as Ballot Box Poison in 2020.

Democrats have let Trump stooges ignore subpoenas and claim executive privilege at times that it is clearly illegal to do so.  Just the refusal to turn over Trump's taxes to the House Ways and Means committee should have put at least 2 Trump cronies in jail, but the Dems let them get away with it.

I see the impeachment party has begun once again BEFORE any facts are presented. (I'm not sure that this isn't a continuation of the original party that began in 2016.) One would think that they would tire of this...but it's obvious that they will forge ahead expecting different results.

This inquiry better result in far more than 'we don't like Trump' or the people will show their disdain for the impeachment happy crew with their votes.

The bigger question, if Trump is so terribly guilty, why are they gladly releasing the unredacted transcripts of the phone call? I'm thinking there's far more to this than what the glee club is willing to see...and they may find that they must investigate more than what they bargained for.

It's rather entertaining.
