Impeachment is now a slam dunk

If one believes that clear and convincing evidence of impeachable acts and additional reminders of President Trump’s grotesque corruption are required to propel impeachment forward, then Thursday may be a significant turning point in the impeachment story.
We saw the confluence of three events. First, The Post reports , “At a combative session in the White House briefing room, acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney acknowledged Thursday that the Trump administration held up U.S. military aid to Ukraine in part because of the president’s request for that country to investigate a Democratic National Committee server.”
Mulvaney tried to gaslight the American people by saying, “We do that all the time with foreign policy.” What amounted to a full-blown confession of impeachable conduct followed :
Did [Trump] also mention to me, in the past, the corruption related to the DNC server? Absolutely. No question about that. But that’s it. And that’s why we held up the money. . . . The look back to what happened in 2016 certainly was part of the thing that he was worried about in corruption with that nation. And that is absolutely appropriate.
Every member of the U.S. House and Senate knows that this is not done all the time, and that a quid pro quo to further a president’s political interests is verboten. Trump and his cronies are making it increasingly difficult for Republicans to find a reason not to vote for impeachment and removal. Compulsive confessions are a major stumbling block to retaining the loyalty of congressional Republicans.
Second, as if one confession were not enough, the ambassador to the European Union, Gordon Sondland , reportedly told the House impeachment panel “that President Trump outsourced the job of handling U.S. policy on Ukraine to Trump’s personal attorney Rudolph W. Giuliani, a decision that made Sondland uncomfortable but one he still carried out.” He further claimed at the time to have been in the dark about Giuliani’s role in scrounging for dirt on former vice president Joe Biden, a questionable defense, given Giuliani’s many public statements boasting that this was precisely what he was doing. The evidence of a quid pro quo is piling up, giving Republicans one more reason to jump ship on Trump.
Finally, in an unprecedented display of chutzpah, Trump announced that next year’s Group of Seven summit would be held at his Doral golf resort near Miami, one of the clearest instances yet of self-enrichment and unconstitutional receipt of emoluments. The emoluments controversy had receded in light of the Ukraine scandal, but such a blatant example of Trump’s willingness to smash government and reap personal financial benefits weighs heavily in favor of removing him. We’d better get him out of there before he makes off with any more loot. The urgency of his removal is intensified when he displays an ever-increasing appetite for unethical, unconstitutional and illegal conduct, about which his aides tell us to “get over it.”
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam B. Schiff (D-Calif.) seemed to recognize the gravity of Mulvaney’s confession. “Mr. Mulvaney’s acknowledgment means that things have gone from very, very bad to much, much worse,” he said .
A steady stream of witnesses continue to testify in the impeachment inquiry, increasing the volume of evidence of what is already an air-tight case. At some point House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) will need to decide that there is enough evidence to convince most persuadable voters of goodwill that Trump’s continued presence in the Oval Office is a danger to the republic. Frankly, that might be any day now.

Mulvaney is a Stephen Miller level ideologically motivated hack who represents a danger to the American way.
In his remarks today he admitted that the Ukranian dealings were a quid pro quo with trump trading military support for Ukraine for an investigation of the Democrats. It is a crime and an impeachable offense, but Mulvaney's take on it was "yes we did it, so what" ?
Where are our independents and moderates. at this time of crisis? We progressives are getting tired of carrying the whole load of opposition to this ongoing travesty of a presidency.
THIS IS FINE
Mick Mulvaney Admits Trump’s Quid Pro Quo on Ukraine: ‘Get Over It’
The White House chief of staff casually confirmed the president held up Ukraine aid over partisan considerations. And that’s totally fine, he added.
You will never convince the lemmings here. They would rather crash and burn with Trump rather than to ever admit their loyalty is blind. For any of them who do admit to backing a lame horse, we would forgive them if they finally see the light.
As was in one of the articles here from a few days ago, Trump supporters can no longer be reasoned with, they can only be defeated. So be it. We have to face reality, a good portion of the American population support a serial liar, crook, bigot and moron.(All the same individual of course) . It's sad for the country, but the good guys will come out on top in the end.
EXHIBIT A
Hey, if they want to go down in flames with their false idol, it is no skin off of my astabula.
I’ll be your huckleberry. We are now seeing more and more Americans realize the the Democrats and their lemming followers have long been at war with our Republic and are determined to destroy the last vestiges of what rema8ns.

Nasty stuff!
You mean how the left is blindly following a party that has done absolutely nothing but unfounded claim after unfounded claim of impeachable offenses by the person who beat them in the election?
If the Obama admin had done anything remotely similar to this righties would be screaming bloody murder !
No kidding, yet they can't see what a POS Crooked donnie is...sad isn't it
"Drain the swamp" my ass !
Are you talking about Pelosi. She sure has hell never have, and never will, drain her swamp.
Crooked donnie and his administration (lock them all up!):
You know you're listening to liars, when the story keeps changing.
First they denied ever withholding aid.
Then they tried denying that there was a quid pro quo.
Now they're saying that of course there was a quid pro quo.
And that it's perfectly normal and legal.
Of course, how do they explain that they were trying to hide the evidence and obstruct any investigation into the matter?
Mulvaney is already trying to walk it back
It's out there, it's too late..he can try all he wants to walk it back...
Open mouth inserts foot. Look out Mulvaney here comes the bus.
Rick Perry resigned today and General Mattis threw some shade at Trump. Actually it was more than some shade it was a frickin rain cloud....It was hilarious.
Kavika, you spelled Hillaryious wrong. lol
What did I miss today? Do you really see a Trump impeachment imminent?
I want to see it. The more these politicians fight the less laws they make...
Oh, I spelled it the correct way. It seems to be you that is stuck on the misspelling.
Did I mention anything about impeachment? Nope, didn't at all, my comment was that Mattis threw some real shade at Trump and it was hilarious.
It should be on youtube soon. Well worth watching.
I'm sure I'll see it. If Trump gets two scoops of ice cream you will even know that.
