Poll: Majority expect Trump to win in 2020
The president’s reelection prospects appear to be a motivating factor for potential voter turnout.

Take this any way you want but, it looks like it's gonna be a popcorn fest.

S E E D E D   C O N T E N T

With less than a year to go before the 2020 election, a majority of registered voters say they think it’s at least somewhat likely that President Donald Trump will secure a second term in the White House, a new poll has found, with more than two-fifths of voters saying the president will be top of mind when casting their vote next November.

According to a POLITICO/Morning Consult survey released on Wednesday, 56 percent of voters expect the president to be reelected next year, including 85 percent of Republicans and 51 percent of independents. By comparison, more than a third of Democrats (35 percent) say the same.

The poll found that voter enthusiasm for the election remains high, even one year out. More than eight in 10 voters say they are motivated to turn out and vote in 2020, with 69 percent saying they are “very motivated.” Majorities of voters across the political spectrum say they are “very motivated” to vote in the presidential election. That enthusiasm is driven by Democrats and Republicans — roughly three-quarters of voters in each party describe themselves as especially energized.

And that enthusiasm would seem to translate into voting prospects — 92 percent of respondents say they are likely to turn out and vote in the election next year, including 96 percent of Democrats and Republicans and 86 percent of independents.

“President Trump’s reelection prospects seem to be energizing voter enthusiasm across the political spectrum,” said Tyler Sinclair, Morning Consult’s vice president. “Our data points show that Republicans and Democrats are equally inclined to say they are motivated and likely to vote in next year’s election.”

Indeed, about four in 10 voters say they will be thinking “a lot” about Trump while casting their ballot for president next year, including 68 percent of Republicans.

But Democrats and Republicans both have different potentially motivating sentiments about the election — voters are more likely to say they are hopeful about the presidential election (21 percent), followed by worried (18 percent.)

Democrats were most likely to say they are hopeful (26 percent) and worried (24 percent) about the election, while Republicans were most likely to say they are hopeful (19 percent) and confident (17 percent) about the election.

The POLITICO/Morning Consult poll was conducted Nov. 1-3 online among a national sample of 1,983 registered voters. Results from the full survey have a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 2 percentage points.

What is interesting about this poll is Democrats rated 35 percent as believing Trump will be reelected.

My belief is many of that 35 percent plan on voting for Trump, for, if nothing else, the crappy line up of liberals and socialists running in 2020.

So "Politicians" are more IMPORTANT to you than the actual folks paying for those "Politicians" to be in office.

What have these politicians ACTUALLY done for you....lately ?

Your problem is that you demand that people "tolerate" Donald Trump, the worst president in American history. He is a KNOWN liar, crook, bigot, and moron, and yet none of that effects you. Sad time for the USA.

What this poll actually points out is how much Americans as a whole accept the fact that Trump's supporters lips are glued to his ass with gorilla glue.

People like me have been pointing this phenomena out for four years. To the true Trumpster, it doesnt matter how stupid he is, how crooked he is, how corrupt he is, how bigoted he is, how buffoonish he is. He is their "hero", and they are his lackeys and footmen and grovelers.

This is the phenomenon that some people assume points to a Trump victory. If you have a relatively large base of the electorate that is psychologically enslaved to you, it IS highly unlikely you will lose badly.

However, the belief that people have that Trump will win hardly means they themselves intend to vote for him. Trump's record in elections , as an endorser in a general election,  is not that good in contested races.

Last night in Kentucky and Virginia there were high turnouts. High turnouts are bad for Trump as there are more Democrats than Republicans.

When Trumpsters speak on topics like this, they invariably prove me correct. It's like the sun coming up every morning. Clockwork.

When you have a throng of people who will vote for you even if you take a shit in their mouths, of course you will have a chance in any election.

What it shows is that despite the hatred and hyperbole of the left, many still think Trump will win----AGAIN.

Please stop with the whole "high turnout" lies. Trump won an election where the turnout was higher than the previous election.

Some people love to claim that when turnout is high, it always favors Democrats, and when it is low, it favors Republicans.

In 2012, about 129 million votes for President were cast. In 2016, the number was about 137 million.

As anyone willing to actually read this and look at the numbers can tell, more people voted in 2016--which Trump won.

Your theory is blown.

Shouldn't you be busy polishing your beloved Abuela's second place, popular vote winning trophy now?

Maybe next election, you can get a candidate who tries to win the election like all other Presidents do---by getting more electoral votes.

A vote for Johnson or Stein were exactly that-- a vote for that particular candidate. THAT is how it works.

You keep running candidates who try to win the popular vote for some stupid-ass reason, and we'll keep running ones who try to win the electoral college.

You know, because of the U.S. Constitution and stuff like that!

polish, polish!
