I have found it risky to comment outside of my own group - SiNNERS and ButtHeads.

May be just someone who thought they were doing a human body a kindness, we'll likely never know
Interesting that after a life of crime and prison escapes,
he was accused and jailed for killing his wife with an axe.
He was aided in escaping from jail and over the past 50 some years
has had a mummified hand discovered separately from both legs and arms,
and most recently had his torso recovered.
Seems like the wife's family or some well meaning vigilantes dispensed their own
brand of justice

In the article I read, the sheriff guessed that the locals took care of it.
