"Now that President Trump's impeachment trial is wrapping up, a big question is: What did his supporters think of the scandal?" Trevor Noah said on Monday's   Daily Show . Jordan Klepper visited last   week's Trump rally in Des Moines, Iowa , to find out. The responses from Trump's fans outside the rally were not surprising — impeachment was a partisan "sham" and Trump "did nothing wrong" — but Klepper found that if you ask the question in the right way, these voters didn't approve of Trump's conduct, either. He also found comedic utility in follow-up questions.

It's always in the phrasing.  Leave Trump's name out of it, and they are against it.  Include Trump's name and everything is perfectly fine.

Anyone remember how polled Republican voters despised Obamacare, but liked the PPACA?

Oh, yes. That was hilarious - and tragic. One main issue is that many conservative voters only watch Fox, so they are protected from facts.

Here is what I think about this video.  There are many Trump supporters who are bamboozled beyond hope or help. Nothing can reach them, they are a plague on the body politic and simply must be overcome in November.

Secondly, no doubt the tv interviewer edited the video to show the worst examples, and while that is not 'fair' , the result conforms to what we know about Trump supporters from many other sources as well.  Many of them dont know what the hell is going on. It IS a major problem in our country.

Are they?  There is a thing called willful ignorance, which I believe better describes them.  If they actually learned the facts, and put a few minutes into thinking about it, they would realize just how badly Trump is striking at the heart of America.

So they refuse to listen to anything outside their own little circle jerk.

TV reporters are doing the same thing they always do, sex and violence equates to more money for their station and themselves.  It takes an effort on the viewer's part to research enough for a better understanding.  They accept, what FoxNews, Drudge, InfoWars, etc., tell them and do not bother looking anywhere else for 2 main reasons.

1- They are simply too lazy.

2- They are being told what they want to hear, so why would they want to look around?

It's not really comedy when they cherrypick the respondents and edit the answers. Sad the left has to resort to lamenting another loss.

edit the answers?, lol.

I do agree the tv show picks out the worst examples. Then again he didnt interview everyone there and I suspect there were quite a few people at the rally that dont know what is going on.

They are right wing media consumers.

The best way to describe these people is that they are "false information" voters.

Right wing media DOES succeed in keeping the truth from many Trump supporters.

To say we have a major problem in America with disinformation from the right would be putting it mildly.

Lol .... disinformation from the right?

And you say that with a straight face without acknowledging a much greater problem coming from the left?

Amazing!!

We know that Trump is a pathological liar, and yet there are many mopes like the ones in the video who believe everything he says.

As a nation, we are at a low point right now.

You have just described most politicians these days and a lot of people right here on NT.

Anyone who feels the USA is at a low point right now, likely has a very, very bad case of simple TDS.

Incurable for some it appears .....

No one lies like Donald trump. No one in national politics ever has.  He is the most corrupt and dishonest president in U.S. history.

In order to try and comfort their guilty consciences, some Trump supporters pretend that other politicians are liars and con men on Trump's level. Shame on them.

I rest my case ....

History will disagree with you John, there is little doubt about that.   Regardless of the endless supply of hatred you have to spew on the guy.

This "resist Trump" movement is failing and failing badly.   You better regroup with a new strategery or you are gonna lose in 2020.

Can you imagine how MUCH GREATER things could be in this country if the Democrats in Congress actually worked with the President on both national issues like infrastructure and health care and on an international basis if they stood behind Trump when he negotiated with foreign leaders instead of  doing all in their power to denigrate and demean him?

What bills has Trump supported in regards to infrastructure and healthcare?

But, thanks for reminding us how low the Democrats have brought America.

Please list the laws, bills, or policy changes that the Republicans have submitted that support the average American.

McConnell has refused to let any of the bills come up for a vote in the Senate, so he can gaslight his supporters into believing that the Dems are the obstructionists.

Yup, and while anyone with a little common sense and access to the internet can see that it is the Republicans that do want to do anything, Trumpettes are more than happy to dance to Trump's idiotic claims.

'the "resist Trump" is failing and failing badly'.  On that I agree.  After all, according to Clifford and McDougal, Trump did not use a condom and brought that home with him.  He is invincible.

For once I agree with you.  The false information brought about the Bobbie Meuller "Investigation", the "Whistle Blower", the Democrat train wreck during the Kavanaugh confirmation and the partisan impeachment.

Many of the respondents in the video are bandwagoners. That is, they like Trump because he is their 'guy'—vetting his reasoning is not part of the process. Therefore, some of them will stumble through interviews, because they only have a "30,000 feet" view of Trump and his strategy to win and retain power.  And besides that, the point distills down to Trump does a lot of nice things for them as conservatives and republicans, even as he dismisses the rest of the organized groups in the country.

These conservatives and republicans fully and completely ignore the issue that a leader who misleads people when he speaks and makes addresses is hoodwinking for a reason.

Trumpism is a cult.  You're either with him or against their perceptions of------------------fill in your own blanks.
