Why Elizabeth Warren Got Dropped From A Poll Question About General Election Matchups
Elizabeth Warren was left out of a national poll question Tuesday that pitted Democratic candidates against Donald Trump, angering supporters who have protested that the media has erased her candidacy in the wake of her showings in Iowa and New Hampshire.
The poll , from NBC and the Wall Street Journal, found Warren was effectively tied for second place nationally, with 14% of the vote.
But pollsters excluded her from a series of match-ups between Trump and top candidates. The poll include Pete Buttigieg, Joe Biden, and Mike Bloomberg, who all polled within a point of Warren, and Amy Klobuchar, who trailed significantly behind them.
Peter Hart, whose firm conducted the poll, told BuzzFeed News that the poll had “space and time” for just five candidate match-ups.
“Amy Klobuchar was selected as the fifth candidate,” Hart said in an email. “We have tested Warren earlier, and I suspect she will be part of the next testing.”
To Warren backers, the poll was a flashpoint, the culmination of weeks of frustrations with media coverage of her candidacy that has focused more heavily on Klobuchar, who finished fifth in Iowa but surged to a surprising third place in New Hampshire.

The media has way too much influence on presidential elections. They decide who is viable or not as the weeks go by, not the voters.
Two percent of the country has voted and they want to force people out of the race.
Warren is toast. Her supporters will shift to Sanders. They share an ideology, but unfortunately not a vow. The true Sanders supporters are dedicated to his election and nothing else. If Sanders doesn't win the nomination, there is no telling what they may do.
For once I agree with you, Vic. Though Sanders and Warren share similar ideas, they differ in the mechanisms to get there. Warren would use the system we have where Sanders would prefer to start over. Still I'm hoping neither of them gets anywhere near the nomination.
Amen to that...
The article is really not about your opinion of Bernie Sanders Vic.
"...there is no telling what they may do."
From their recent actions - burn Milwaukee to the ground.
If he doesn't get the nomination, they might just sit at home come election day!
I predict it will involve screams.
Actually, I'm not sure if that's politics or porn.
God help them if the DNC screws him again! A brokered convention though extremely rare these days, is just what the DNC may want.
Yea, now that you have a dog in the corner.
Every bit of that is true.
Gee, we have been telling folks that the media is biased for years now, and NOW we are finally going to be believed?
WTF??
The DNC and the news media have been driving this circus train for a year. Has Warren complained when other candidates got less screen time than her in debates? Did she (or her campaign) complain when Tulsi Gabbard or Cory Booker failed to qualify for the debates under their silly and arbitrary rules?
When an arbitrary rule excludes her, she (or the campaign) sure howls.
Have you noticed how many times the DNC has changed the rules for who gets to the debates?
Seems like they did all they could to make sure Bloomberg got in!
I think the DNC is terrified of a Sanders or Warren nomination win, knowing how much it will cost them down-ballot.
Did you know that the rules were changed by the RNC, too, in mid game? And yes I am sure they did it to let Bloomberg in.
I tend to agree with that.
Its pretty weird that they let him on the debate stage when he isn't even on the ballot in the state they debate in.
They should be.
Well, the DNC tends to do the same thing when the incumbent is a Dem. Both parties are all about getting and keeping power, and nothing more.
What is even worse is they changed the rules so Bloomberg could get into this debate. The people who already dropped have a legitimate bitch. We'll see if anything comes of it.
Both parties have has a history of changing the rules for their debates, and while I can see the other nominees getting mad over this, it is not the first time or the last.
True but that doesn't change the legitimacy of the bitch people have who already dropped.

I saw that in a gun article - Ms Liz is a standard.
