Coastguardsman honored for saving a life on wedding day
On his wedding day, Petty Officer Zac Edwards spotted a drowning teenager and swam 150 yards to save him. Two years later, he receives one of the nation’s highest coast guard honors for the heroic deed.

Gotta love the Coast Guard! They saved some idiot friends of mine back in the day.

Thought about applying once but was already way too old at that point in time. I was 30...

Contrary to popular belief, the Coast Guard's primary function is as lifesavers - which they do outstandingly.

Semper Paratus PO Edwards.  You definitely live up to your calling.

My son in law to be was a Coastie, doing drug interdiction and illegal immigration. So nice to see such a postive story and share it showing how a Coastie is always ready.

Well done PO Edwards.
