Trump, in Tweetstorm Featuring Tomi Lahren, James Woods and a Sex Counselor, Suggests End to Lockdown After 15 Days

S E E D E D   C O N T E N T

President  Donald Trump , in a lengthy tweetstorm Monday morning, sent strong signals that he wants the coronavirus lockdown to end after 15 days.

Late Sunday night, the president, in an all-caps dispatch, wrote:

“WE CANNOT LET THE CURE BE WORSE THAN THE PROBLEM ITSELF. AT THE END OF THE 15 DAY PERIOD, WE WILL MAKE A DECISION AS TO WHICH WAY WE WANT TO GO”

On Monday morning, a series of retweets gave a clear indication of which way he is leaning. Among those posts shared by the president, a Tweet from sex counselor Dr. Dawn Michael.

“The fear of the virus cannot collapse our economy that President Trump has built up,” Dr. Michael wrote. “We The People are smart enough to keep away from others if we know that we are sick or they are sick! After 15 days are over the world can begin to heal!”

Other retweets from Trump suggested the 15 days to slow the spread plan implemented by his White House will not extend beyond that period.

15 days. Then we isolate the high risk groups and the rest of us get back to work before it’s all over for everyone!! # Landslide2020

Correct. 15 days, then we keep the high risk groups protected as necessary and the rest of us go back to work.

The retweets follow an Axios report Monday morning from   Jonathan Swan , which said that Trump and senior White House officials are “losing patience” with the shutdown.

“At the end of the 15-day period, there will likely be a serious clash between the public health experts — who will almost certainly favor a longer period of nationwide social distancing and quarantining — versus the president and his economic and political aides, who are anxious to restart the economy,” Swan wrote.

Fox Nation host   Tomi Lahren   and actor   James Woods   also made cameos in the president’s tweet spree. Lahren’s comment criticized the idea of releasing prisoners who are vulnerable to the coronavirus.

“So we are all basically on house arrest but they are letting the prisoners out?” Lahren wrote. “Sounds like a brilliant idea.”

Joe Scarborough: 'Act of Suicide' to End Coronavirus Actions

Joe Scarborough   said it would be an “act of suicide” for American society if President   Donald Trump   lifts restrictions around the country while the coronavirus pandemic is still wrecking havoc.

This iframe is not allowed

Morning Joe   started the week by talking about how Trump tweeted, “WE CANNOT LET THE CURE BE WORSE THAN THE PROBLEM ITSELF” on Sunday night, which suggests that the president views the economic pains of the pandemic as worse than the virus’ health risks.

As Scarborough spoke with his panel about this, he lamented that there aren’t enough coronavirus tests for the American people, which means the economy will keep taking hits while “we keep flying in the dark.” He warned, however, that if Trump rolls back restrictive policies across the country now and tells people to go back to work, “it would be an act of suicide for our society if the president did that.”

“An act of suicide,” Scarborough repeated. “For millions of Americans, it would be the height of recklessness and irresponsibility as every medical professional says he needs to do just the opposite and he’s been told that for two weeks.”

Mike Barnicle   agreed, saying that would be tantamount to “re-creating the 1918 plague.”

...the medical experts want the model followed indefinitely.

No, they want to "flatten the curve" so we don't swamp the medical community. This does lengthen how long this shit will last, but it saves lives that would otherwise be lost.

That's funny! As Dr Anthony Fauci said last night - there isn't one thing that we requested the President do, which he hasn't done, nor is there anything that we asked him not to do, which he hasn't not gone along with.

It must be depressing how Gov Cuomo keeps sabotaging the media's preferred anti-Trump talking points on a daily basis. As he keeps saying that an indefinite lockdown is not sustainable

I know that. He called concern about the coronavirus a hoax meant to hurt him personally.

Trump was saying things like "we only have a few cases" and "it will be over soon" and people pointed out that Trump was minimizing the threat.

Vic, what was this "hoax"?  There is proof that Trump minimized the threat in public statements.  Where is there "hoax" in pointing that out?

You believe everything that Trump says. Other people are more discerning.

There is quite a bit of time that elapses between 15 days and infinity. Both timeframes are rediculous. It will have run its course when it does. Establishing an artificial political agenda to a pandemic is the height of insanity. Much like Trump's response to AGW (it's a Chinese hoax), his response to coronavirus has been equally ignorant.

Contrary to what every epidemiologist advises, Trump will continue to rule from a position of ignorance, bluster and lies to the detriment of this and other countries.

And you can't read the context?

Here let me make it plain for the 13th time:

Politico published an  article  claiming President Donald Trump called the novel coronavirus a “hoax” at his Feb. 28 campaign rally in South Carolina.

Verdict: False

Trump referred to the alleged “politicizing” of the coronavirus by Democrats as “their new hoax.” He did not refer to the coronavirus itself as a hoax. Throughout the speech, Trump reiterates his administration is taking the threat of the coronavirus seriously.

I was pretty much home bound before all this started because of a lack of transportation.  Now that I have a scooter, I can at least get to Vons and my mom and pop store.  I limit both of those.  Luckily both deliver, so I don't go very often.  I am now catching up on painting projects and doing yard work.
