CNN’s Acosta Interrupts Dr Birx As She Discusses The WHO’s Handling Of Coronavirus Pandemic

S E E D E D   C O N T E N T

CNN reporter Jim Acosta interrupted Dr. Deborah Birx on Friday as the White House coronavirus task force coordinator was discussing the World Health Organization’s handling of the pandemic.

Birx pointed out during a task force press conference that WHO has provided faulty guidance about the transmission of coronavirus, and whether countries should implement travel bans

“I will remind you that on Feb. 3, the head of the WHO said there was no reason to ever do a travel ban,” Birx said in an extended response to a question from Daily Caller reporter Christian Datoc.

“It wasn’t until Jan. 14th that we knew there was human to human transmission. Remember,” she began, as Acosta interjected.

“Dr. Birx, the president was saying this was going to go away. It’s April, Mr. President you said it was going to go away in April,” the CNN reporter said in a contentious exchange.

The World Health Organization has come under fire over its handling of the coronavirus pandemic, which originated in China. Florida Sen. Rick Scott  has called for a congressional investigation  into whether the Geneva-based organization has helped the Chinese government peddle “misinformation” about how the communist regime handled the coronavirus outbreak.  (RELATED: FLASHBACK: WHO Tells Everyone Not To Worry Because Coronavirus Isn’t Contagious)

President Donald Trump was widely criticized when he implemented a travel ban from China in late January to slow the spread of coronavirus to the United States.

While Birx said in her comments that human to human transmission of coronavirus was not known until Jan. 14, WHO was still citing data from China by that date to claim that there was no evidence that the virus was spread from person to person.

Other WHO assessments have created a false sense of security about the threat from the pandemic.

Beginning in late February, WHO official  Bruce Aylward  said there was no evidence that coronavirus was being spread by patients who showed no symptoms. The CDC said this week that  as many as 25% of people  infected with the virus could by asymptomatic. The high rate of asymptomatic cases makes it more difficult to contain the pandemic.

Resistance member Jim Acosta rudely interrupted Dr Birx when she pointed out that the leader of the WHO said there was no reason for the travel ban (probably too much truth for any progressive to withstand!). What did slime ball Acosta blurt out?  The fact that the President said that the virus would one day go away!

The left continues to be America's greatest threat.

rudely interrupted

Rudely interrupted is Trump after every question he didn't like coming.  He interrupted and started a knee jerk defense/offense of insults.  Multiple times.  Want me to post examples?

I especially get a kick out of Fox trying to accuse Acosta of mansplaining.  As he was trying to get real, honest information from Birx, who has unfortunately had her head lodged up Trump's ass the longer she does these rallies (which are full of mixed messages and confusion when Trump backtracks on the script).

How about this important interruption from Trump in the not too distant past?

These rallies are not real briefings.  They confuse more than they inform. The expert working on this is Jared Fucking Kushner?   And every speaker begins with the Trump praise.  If we want real information, we watch Andrew Cuomo's briefings, which are full of facts and important information. A real leader.  The Trump rallies are just a waste of air time.

Trump did gesture with his hand but in fairness to the one speaking, it would seem to be as establishing a default order, to be the first question after the monologue. Acosta always comes first because he's the best and alphabetically closest to asshole.

Moderator's note - the picture accompanying a seeded article must, whenever possible, be the same as the pic associated with the original article.  I have edited the seed so that it contains the photo from the original article.

The key in there is "whenever possible."   I couldn't seem to save their picture. Thank you for fixing it.

And now I would like to post this:

That is the famous photo of Acosta refusing to turn over the microphone and mischievously placing his other hand out onto a White House staffer.

I have placed this photo here so that nobody forgets!

While Birx said in her comments that human to human transmission of coronavirus was not known until Jan. 14, WHO was still citing data from China by that date to claim that there was no evidence that the virus was spread from person to person.

Except that the WHO published a report in the 3rd week of February that there WAS evidence that there was human-to-human contact. So either Birx is uninformed or she is lying.

Beginning in late February, WHO official    Bruce Aylward    said there was no evidence that coronavirus was being spread by patients who showed no symptoms.

That's is false. The link in seeded article states that Aylward said:

“There is no evidence that we’re seeing only the tip of a grand iceberg, with nine-tenths of it made up of hidden zombies shedding virus . What we’re seeing is a pyramid: most of it is aboveground,” he told TheNYT.

That same February WHO report DOCUMENTS that asymptomatic patients WERE testing positive yet as a fraction of the overall of those tested. It verify Aylward's statement.

The Daily Caller article is a sad attempt at xenophobic gaslighting.

Except that the WHO published a report in the 3rd week of February that there WAS evidence that there was human-to-human contact.

Too little, too late:

"At every press briefing, WHO director general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has defended China’s handling of the epidemic in the face of critical questions, very often from US journalists. At the end of January, when   Tedros declared a public health emergency of international concern   – having put it off a week earlier under what was assumed to be pressure from Beijing – he praised China for protecting the rest of the world."

So Birx was right, the WHO is up China's ass and the left is still the enemy of America!

Too little, too late:

WTF does the your link have to do with whether the human-to-human contact wasn't known until Jan. 14 as claimed in your article? Hint: Not a fucking thing.

So Birx was right, the WHO is up China's ass and the left is still the enemy of America!

Please post a link that supports you claim that Birx said anything of the sort.

She said they didn't know until January 14 that there was human-to-human transmission. The WHO publishing a report about human-to-human transmission 5 weeks later doesn't contradict that.

Dr. Birx. is 100% right and I wish people would listen to her. It's very easy - but unfair - to Monday morning quarterback this thing, especially at this early stage. Many people - "experts" and "authorities" were saying we shouldn't worry about this thing back in January.

We need to focus on the best things we can do right now and when it's done we can look back on it and learn many things, I am sure.

Acosta and those like him are only interested in advancing their careers by busting someone. He's not a journalist. He's a vulture.
