My compromise measure for gay marriage laws
I would think the following measure would be an acceptable middle ground position for the right at least . Male homosexuals must sign an oath to the effect that they have read the following warning :
The current state of medical knowledge indicates that unprotected anal sex is a dangerous practice and can lead to serious health problems .
Having signed that oath they can be married with the full rights and privileges that permits . Just my opinion ...

This is not for their protection . It is to prevent lawsuits against the state ... and to protect young people from being mislead .
But that is true of everyone. It is the first thing I taught in sex ed. when discussing having sex. That the pill, the diaphragm or IUD will only protect them from pregnancy.

I am still waiting for those from the right to comment . Is this an acceptable compromise for the right side of the spectrum ? And is this too much for the left to deal with ?
Since you added that later I didn't see it till now . Marriage laws don't have to be changed to accomodate heteros . But they do have to be changed to accomodate homosexuals . That's why this compromise is likely to be necessary . Clearly no one is interested in compromise , only one sided rhetoric .
