Fox News

For the second time this week, President Donald Trump appeared almost resigned to the idea that former Vice President Joe Biden will beat him in November, telling   Fox News’ Sean Hannity   that Biden “is going to be president because some people don’t love me.”

During a town hall in key swing state Wisconsin, Trump fell back on his   well-worn   attack lines   against his Democratic opponent, painting Biden as too old and suffering from cognitive decline.

“Whenever he does talk, he can’t put two sentences together,” Trump exclaimed. “I don’t want to be nice or un-nice. The man can’t speak.”

At the same time, the president seemed to acknowledge current polling, which shows the ex-veep up by   double digits nationally   and leading in   most battleground states including Wisconsin , a must-win for Trump.

And he is going to be president because some people don’t love me, maybe,” Trump said. “And all I’m doing is doing my job.”

The president insisted that before the “China plague” hit, the country was enjoying the “best job numbers we ever had” and the “best economy we ever had.” He then pivoted to complaining about China, which he said “ate our lunch” before he entered office.

The president used similarly interesting language while speaking about the possibility of a Biden presidency earlier this week.

Asked during a trip to Arizona to react to Biden saying he may not complete construction on the border wall if elected,   Trump said : “No, he will complete it. You’d have a revolution if they didn’t do it.”

A   number   of   conservatives   have recently begun to   sound the alarm   on Trump’s plummeting poll numbers and declining re-election chances. In a fiery Thursday night monologue, Fox News host Tucker Carlson warned Trump that he   “could well lose this election”   if he doesn’t turn things around soon.

Are you trying to tell us that Trump was kidding there Sparty?

From what I see, Trump, whom is always trying to monetize his situation is looking to gather his rabid minions to follow him to his yet to be announced "Trump Network".  He fears losing above everything as it tarnishes him.  That which marks him as a loser he does everything he can to run from.   I don't think it's out of his character to drop out after the convention in August.

If he's working so hard to garner votes beyond his base, then why in the hell is he working to kill the ACA in the middle of a pandemic?  Makes no political sense at all.

Your 1.2.1 response looks to all like more denial of the issues with Trump by deflecting to Biden.  I suggest you take to heart that actions speak louder than words.

The worst 'recovery' in history.   What you and your friends always forget is that once the FED stopped pumping 85 billion dollars a month into the system, the economy essentially flatlined since Obama never did as much as run a lemonade stand.  Then simply on the Trump win, the economy picked up and his administration accomplished in gains in three years that Obama and his band of hench men couldn't do in eight.

Oh, if you've already forgotten, lowest unemployment in history, those manufacturing jobs that Obama said would never come back, came back, but it's immaterial to you.  Your vitriol and to the core of your being hatred blind you to what good Trump and the Republicans have done for America.  You prefer to see it burned to the ground.

Biden was on the team that addressed the H1N1 outbreak...... (only 12,000 died of that bug..... but you knew that, right.)

But you know that a flu is an appreciably different bug than the coronavirus.

Biden is he better choice and even moderate/Goldwater type republicans know it and are moving to get rid of Trump.  You can bitch and moan with all your anarchist/libertarian fence sitting, but I've yet to see you post ANYTHING in the way of a constructive idea that helps the country.  You just like to throw rocks.

Excuse me, but it's the left that is throwing the rocks, bottles, bricks, stones, gas, etc., etc., etc.   So to quote you "but you knew that, right."   (And that should have ended with a question mark and not a period.)

Then simply on the Trump win, the economy picked up and his administration accomplished in gains in three years that Obama and his band of hench men couldn't do in eight.

Based on what fucking metric XD?

Job growth: The U.S. economy typically added more than 250,000 jobs each month in 2014 and 227,000 a month in 2015. Trump has not been able to top that yet with the benefits of the foundation produced by the previous administration. (Trump Fail)

Unemployment rate:  It is on the exact same trajectory (slope) as the last administration.  There was no improvement in the rate of change.  (At least Trump didn't screw that up)

GDP growth:  The previous highs for growth were 2.9, 2.6, 2.5,  Trump matched the 2.9 once, and the next closest were 2.4 and 2.1 (Trump Fail)

Federal debt: At the end of the previous administration, the annual deficit had declined considerably, but it has since jumped up again under Trump because of his tax cut and increased government spending. (Big Trump and GOP Fail)

Trade deficit: In January of 2017 trade deficits were running around $46.2 billion a month.  At this time last year Trump was running on average a $51.8 billion trade deficit.

Start bringing the data, not just your Fox talking points.

But you know that a flu is an appreciably different bug than the coronavirus.

Oh.... but you Trump Fluffers think the Corona is a hoax, or at the most.... a flu that's going to go away.  Why is it that with all the warnings from hard hit countries in Europe with developed economies and healthcare systems like ours, they've managed to get control of their virus, while ours is running out of control? And yes.... they've had protests too so don't try to go there.

I know you can't give it up, but with so many republicans turning your back on Agent Orange, maybe you should be listening to them too.

But you know that a flu is an appreciably different bug than the coronavirus.

A virus is a virus is a virus.....the 2009 flu turned out to be the same flu as the 1918  flu and we had many decades of studying samples and partial vaccines.  That administration, let the economy alone and let the CDC & FDA handle it. No daily briefings from the WH, no forcing Ford or GM to make ventilators.

While the corona virus is slightly different virus, the results are wildly different because of Washington.  As you point out all similar countries seem to have a handle on it while we are getting exponentially worse and the president is calling for less testing to tamp down the numbers, just as Florida has tried to manipulate the numbers and states like TX have rushed to "reopen' while experiencing their real first wave.

Now we have at least 3 different variants of COVID in CONUS.

And still certain people point fingers, scream at politicians and refuse to wear masks.

Only in America

Anyone with an R behind their name needs to justify every firing of a "serves at the pleasure of the POTUS" federal employee. The left tried the exact same bullshit on Bush Jr for firing 7 Federal Attorneys. The Constitution states the President doesn't need a reason. Maybe they made a bad joke about the POTUS; maybe their breath stank one day; or maybe they made a bat shit crazy ruling in a case, or cases, and the President didn't care for the way they were doing their jobs. The Democrats launched a full scale investigation and forced the Bush administration to testify before Congress.

I always decline calls from numbers I don't know. If people are polled on mainly left leaning sites, or right leaning sites, wouldn't those polls reflect that? A lot of people like me, won't do polls period, so how is that a true reflection of poll numbers?

I am also waiting for Barr and Durham to pop up close to the election with their news of investigations, which they will claim the timing was not politically motivated, just happened to coincide a month to several weeks before.

I also feel to never underestimate the stupidity of the electorate.

That said, if Hillary can manage to keep her damn mouth shut, Biden has a chance.

I also think it can come down to how he can do in a debate, if donald decides to have one.

Well, President Trump has publicly noted he has NO PROBLEM with at least the current three, and if Biden can find his way out of his basement, more if Biden wants.

Biden on the other hand, rather his handlers, are questioning if there should be ANY debates due of course to the coronavirus.

Now, be a little realistic Ender.  President Trump can go to a rally and be on stage for 1 1/2 to 2 hours speaking to the people, many times off the scripted teleprompter.   Biden, he stumbles and fumbles even when he's prepared with the questions before they're asked.

Fortunately, a verbal massacre is not illegal so President Trump will not be charged with elder abuse when he wipes the stage with Hiden Biden.

President Trump’s campaign lobbied the presidential debate commission Thursday to schedule an additional contest between the president and former vice president Joe Biden this fall as Trump officials seek to cut his deficit in the polls.

Trump representatives also argued that the two campaigns should have sway over debate moderators, rather than only the nonpartisan debate commission, an argument that has previously been rejected by the organization’s chairman. They also said debates should not occur on nights when there are NFL games.

The proposals to the Commission on Presidential Debates came just months after the campaign threatened to refuse to participate in any of the three previously scheduled debates if they were “not fair.” Trump officials are now looking for ways to force Biden to make more public appearances, believing the “more he talks, the better off we are,” according to a senior campaign official.

With only Trump dominating the political stage, the president’s numbers have continued to sag in swing states as voters fault his handling of the pandemic and police brutality protests across the nation, according to a wide array of public polls. The Trump campaign sees more debates as a way to potentially damage Biden, whose favorability numbers have to go down for Trump to win, according to campaign advisers.

The Biden campaign accused Trump of a political ploy.

“Six months after announcing he did not want to debate, Donald Trump — now trailing in the polls — wants to change the subject from his failed leadership, and launch a ‘campaign’ for many debates,” deputy campaign manager Kate Bedingfield said in a statement. “But there’s a catch: he’ll only do it if he can pick the moderators.”

Trump campaign officials, including manager Brad Parscale and outside lawyer Rudolph W. Giuliani, argued to the commission that a fourth debate is needed in early September because so many are likely to vote early and absentee due to the coronavirus pandemic. The first debate is scheduled for Sept. 29 at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana.

It was Giuliani’s first discussion with the debate commission in 2020, but he was involved in the campaign’s interactions with the commission in 2016 and the former mayor took a leading role in the call.

The commission, however, has studied the percentage of voters who cast their ballots before Oct. 1 and has concluded that it is a tiny percentage of the electorate.

Frank Fahrenkopf, the chairman of the debate commission, said that if the Trump and Biden campaigns agreed on the desirability of a fourth debate, the commission would do everything it could to make it happen.

The dates for the first three debates have already been set. For a fourth debate to happen in early September, both sides would have to agree.

“We want fair debates. We want them sooner, and we want a bigger schedule. We also don’t want them up against football games competing for viewers. As many Americans as possible need to see the stark differences between the accomplishments and leadership of President Trump and the failed record and sleepiness of Joe Biden,” Parscale said.

Bedingfield said the Biden campaign would show up for “the debates set by the Commission on Presidential Debates, at the places they have selected, on the dates they have selected, with the formats and moderators they designate — so long as Donald Trump does the same, and does not intimidate the Commission into changes from past practices.”

Giuliani did not immediately respond to a call seeking comment.

Trump, meanwhile, has downplayed fears of the pandemic surging in the fall in recent days and has railed against voting by mail. It remains unclear if there will be an NFL season this fall.

Trump Campaign Pushing for Four Debates With Biden

The Trump team wants one more debate than is typically held in the general election, and argued that they should start earlier because the coronavirus may prompt an increase in early voting.

Top aides to President Trump tried on Thursday to negotiate with the commission overseeing presidential debates to increase the number of times that Mr. Trump and former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. face off in the fall.

The Trump camp pushed for four debates, one more than is typically held in the general election, and argued that they should start earlier because there may be an increase in early voting as people struggle with fears of the coronavirus in crowded places, according to a person briefed on the meeting. Traditionally, the first debate is held in September, after the nominating conventions. Mr. Trump’s advisers want them to begin soon after Labor Day.

The online meeting featured Rudolph W. Giuliani, Mr. Trump’s personal lawyer; his campaign manager, Brad Parscale; and another senior campaign official, Michael Glassner. They met with Frank Fahrenkopf, the co-founder and co-chairman of the Commission on Presidential Debates, said the person briefed on the meeting, who was not authorized to speak publicly.

Mr. Giuliani, who advised the Trump campaign in 2016, also proposed that both campaigns get to recommend a set number of moderators, and that they each get to strike some of them from the other person’s list before they reach an agreement, the person said.

Mr. Giuliani did not respond to a message seeking comment.

In a statement, Mr. Parscale said: “We want fair debates. We want them sooner and we want a bigger schedule. We also don’t want them up against football games competing for viewers. As many Americans as possible need to see the stark differences between the accomplishments and leadership of President Trump and the failed record and sleepiness of Joe Biden.”

Kate Bedingfield, the deputy campaign manager for Mr. Biden, accused Mr. Trump of trying to “change the subject” now that he is down in the polls.

“But there’s a catch: He’ll only do it if he can pick the moderators,” she said. “We are not going to ride the roller coaster of the ever-changing Trump campaign position on debates, nor are we going to be distracted by his demands.”

She said the Biden campaign would follow the rules and guidance set up by the commission, “so long as Donald Trump does the same, and does not intimidate the commission into changes from past practices.”

The Trump campaign’s posture marks a departure from what the president’s advisers were discussing last year. Back then, as the Democratic primary season was intensifying, Mr. Trump’s advisers discussed whether the president would even take part in debates sponsored by the commission.

But since then, the spread of the coronavirus pandemic and a global recession, combined with the Trump administration’s failures responding to the virus, have changed Mr. Trump’s standing in the race.

In all recent national surveys and many state surveys, Mr. Trump trails Mr. Biden. A new national poll from Quinnipiac University on Thursday showed Mr. Biden with an advantage of eight percentage points, and a new Fox News national poll put Mr. Biden up by 12 points.

So what I'm understanding here is the Chicken Shit Coward in Chief wants somebody to force Biden out to the public because CSCC knows that all Biden needs to do at this point is shut up and color.

And the Biden Campaign has committed to the 3 while CSCC hasn't and won't commit until he gets his way? He wants to pick the moderators? In what unholy universe does one campaign get to pick the moderators?

I know...too many questions.

Biden needs to do at this point is shut up and color.

That is all Biden is qualified to do at this point, so that is all Biden's wife and handlers will let him do. Of course only the left would feel that someone that needs to be protected from themselves is a good candidate for the Presidency.

Conveniently they, in most cases, showed the bias in this report. First, the headline

‘He’s Going To Be Your President’

Nowhere did Mr. Trump say "your". Fail one

Next, they left out a key word at the end of the "quote" to support their "position"...... but it changes the narrative........

"And he is going to be president because some people don’t love me, maybe,"

Hilarious.....................

What I find interesting about this news is that it seems entirely out of character for Trump to acknowledge that he could lose to Biden.   He has a history of making grandiose claims starting with his campaign promise mantra to build the wall with Mexico's money up to and including his recent irresponsible statements as PotUS which present coronavirus as something that will just die of natural causes (giving excuses to those who do not take precautions):

Trump:  "It's [coronavirus] going to fade away but having a vaccine would be really nice and that's going to happen."

No, it is not going to simply 'fade away'; we must act to eliminate it.    The worst thing a leader can do is encourage people to grow more complacent thinking that this will just fade away.

Given Trump has shown no concern for exaggeration and flat out lying throughout his presidency (and before) it surprises me to see him (unsolicited) offer the possibility that Biden will beat him and to then begin an excuse campaign.

Apparently Trump thinks all of his dogs are barking in unison.
