Ye suspended from Twitter after swastika post

After making antisemitic comments and praising Hitler on Thursday, the rapper Ye has been suspendedfrom Twitter.

The account for Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, read as "account suspended" early Friday.

Twitter owner Elon Musk said it would be suspended after a post on Ye's account Thursday night showed an image that appeared to show a swastika inside a Star of David. It was then blocked by Twitter for violating its rules.

Musk wrote on the platform that the suspension was "for incitement to violence." The length of the suspension was not immediately clear.

Ye's suspension comes around a month after the multibillionaire Musk, who has described himself as a "free speech absolutist," bought Twitter for $44 billion.

Earlier Thursday, Ye sat down for an interview with conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, in which Ye made antisemitic comments, referred to "the Jewish media," and said "I see good things about Hitler, also."

Ye wore a black full face mask in the interview. White supremacist Nick Fuentes was also on the program, which was livestreamed.

But it was after Ye's account tweeted the image of the Star of David later Thursday that he was suspended.

Musk replied to another user: "I tried my best. Despite that, he again violated our rule against incitement to violence. Account will be suspended."

Ye's Twitter account has been restricted before over antisemitic comments, but he returned to the platform in November. Musk has said that Ye's account was restored by Twitter before he took ownership.

Over the last several months, Ye has made a series of statements targeting Jewish people and antisemitic Jewish stereotypes.

Adidas cut ties with Ye in October, saying his actions have been "unacceptable, hateful and dangerous." The move came after criticism for the company to act.

Twitter has suspended other accounts since Musk took over — including users who imitated Musk. He has also reinstated some previously suspended accounts, including that of former President Donald Trump.

Ye appeared to suggest he would be leaving the platform Thursday night. He tweeted an image of Musk being sprayed with a hose and wrote "Let's always remember this as my final tweet."

Musk replied to that tweet: "That is fine." To the now blocked post featuring the Star of David, Musk wrote: "This is not."

She saw what a "leaked" sex tape did to make Paris Hilton famous.

So she used the profits to finance extensive plastic surgery.

The Kardashian family is now 98% plastic.

Have you always enjoyed watching bipolar   disease?

Is that what is afflicting Kanye?

Other than his attack on Taylor Swift as some music award ceremony, I have pretty much ignored Kanye and the Kardashians.  From the headlines I've read, they all appear to be run of the mill narcissists.

Recently, Kanye is either showing his true most toxic personality as he ages and feels marginalized by not getting enough press coverage and praise for achieving whatever he feels he has achieved in life....or there is a chance he has a physical cause like a brain tumor.

I was just watching a video about mistakes people make when dealing with toxic people.  #5 on the list is believing there is "good" in everyone.  There isn't.   The labels associated with assorted mental health disorders sometimes make it seem like they all have a treatable disease that can be "cured" and they will develop a loving and respectful personality and recognize boundaries.  At best, some medication seems to help some people cope with life and not harm themselves and others.  At worst, some humans are hard-wired with the temperament and moral code of a grizzly bear.  Not someone that is understandable or safe to be around for anyone.

I'm obviously no expert, but it seems to me that he is in a full-fledged mental health breakdown.

15 years ago, a good friend, who had lived in a duplex in Germany next to my wife and I went off of her bipolar disorder meds and she then alternates between extreme highs and lows.  During her lows, she said outrageous and untrue things.  Ultimately her husband was granted custody of the children and the woman moved across the country and for several years didn't see her four children. My wife tried to be a surrogate mom, but it was a very trying time for both families.

It's very sad to see someone you care about go through these cycles.  The good news is that she finally found the combination of therapy and meds and resumed a relationship with her now adult children.

don't describe a bipolar patient on or off his meds.

He felt that Kenye is doing this deliberately for the attention, and like Musk,

Trump and Fuentes, we are giving it to them.

In the world of narcissistic personality disorder, Trump and Kanye are both probably low-level, semi-intelligent narcissists with little self-control when they are challenged on any level.  This makes them easily recognizable as people to avoid when possible.

Which politicians would be left if all the men/women with NPD were purged from government?

People with NPD have a distinct advantage when it comes to achieving their goals - lack of morals, lack of empathy for others, lack of compassion for others.  Their only goal is self-gain.  If some breadcrumbs have to be tossed to others to gain advancement, then it will be done.  There is nothing benevolent about it. In fact, most people with NPD seem to thrive by causing as much chaos as possible.  Driving people to fight and kill others or even commit suicide makes them feel powerful.  And power, over others, is their addiction.  As long as the narcissist is on top is all that matters to them.

Who is in charge of "help" for grown adults?  Without a change in laws, the current procedure is wait until they kill others.

It shows you how awful our fellow citizens can be when they think it benefits them to exploit someone like Kanye West.

What makes Kanye different than any other person who threatens the well-being of others?   Has there been some personality change?  Does Kanye have a history of benevolence to others or a history of exploitation of others?

That was my first impression, but probably because of my personal situation I have researched the personality changes to be expected in an aging narcissist.

The #1 best strategy for dealing with a toxic person is not to.

Thankfully, people with NPD love to do the silent treatment as punishment when their "loved" ones are displeasing.  As an introvert, I consider it a reward.

It is.  Unfortunately, people with NPD dish out abuse on a regular cycle.  The regularity depends on how much the target can/will tolerate before dysfunctional or wise to the game.

As long as medication prevents a person from abusing others, that should be supported.

What should not be supported is making anyone focus on the needs of the abuser to anyone else's detriment.

Apparently, he has been publicly very verbally abusive to Kim Kardashian during their divorce proceedings.

I really hope this doesn't end like so many other cases when the person, with the toxic personality, decides that murder is the only option left to regain power over their appliance.  I hope that Kim has 24-hour security for the foreseeable future.

Reading your comment reminded me of Nicole Simpson.  OJ had quite the fan club that helped silence Nicole before and after she was murdered.

Verbal abuse should be just as unacceptable as physical abuse.

When a person supports the abuser or makes excuses for the abuser, it says a lot about their own character.  What is even worse, US media put Nicole Simpson on trial instead of her murderer.

OJ Simpson’s ‘horrific abuse’ of wife Nicole Brown Simpson revealed in her secret diaries from before infamous murder | The US Sun (the-sun.com)

HARROWING diary entries recount the "horrific abuse" Nicole Brown-Simpson suffered at the hands of husband OJ.

Un-earthed journals belonging to Nicole -   who was killed in 1994   - document up to 60 different incidents of alleged beatings.

She says the first time   Simpson   beat her was in 1978, and that he battered her during sex as well as pummelling her for hours, ripping off her clothes and smashing her car with a baseball bat over a period of 16 years.

One entry details how the former football star once screamed at her: "I have a gun in my hand, get the f*** out of here".

OJ Simpson   was tried for Nicole's murder, as well as friend Ron Goldman, in 1995 but was acquitted.

Both Nicole and Ron's family saw the verdict as   a serious miscarriage of justice.

The entries are examined in new documentary OJ and Nicole: An American Tragedy, airing on the 25th anniversary of Simpson's acquittal on the Investigation Discovery channel.

Her sister, Tanya said of the beatings that perhaps Nicole knew her death was "destiny," adding: "Maybe subconsciously she knew something was going to happen

"Maybe that’s why she kept real detailed diary entries."

The shocking diaries were found stashed in a safety deposit box alongside photographs of Nicole's injuries and grovelling apology letters from Simpson.

The documents were dismissed as heresay by a judge during the original trial.

In 2016, a documentary re-visited some of the entries, including one that simply states: “'He hit me while we f***ed”.

The newer doc reveals more harrowing abuse, including one passage that describes how the footballer beat Nicole "for hours" after a friend's anniversary party in 1978.

It reads: "1st time he beat me up after Louis + Nanie Mary anniversary party. Started on the street corner of NYC 5th Ave at about 9.

"Threw me on the floor, hit me, kicked me. we went to the hotel where he continued to beat me for hours and I continued crawling for the door."

Another describes how he smashed her Mercedes with a baseball bat after she came home late - she writes: "I was too afraid to get out of the car".

In one detailing how he ripped her clothes from her after drinks, Nicole says she went to the hospital - but pretended she had been in a bicycle accident.

Another stomach-churning entry recounts how a then-pregnant Nicole pleaded to be let back into their home after he kicked her out, reasoning their daughter was asleep.

Nicole wrote: "OJ was drunk, he never let up. Get out my f house you fat a** liar. I packed a few things together."

The passage continues: "[He said] Let me tell you how serious I am. I have a gun in my hand, get the f*** out of here."

Despite the beatings, Nicole married Simpson in 1985 but she later filed for divorce from Simpson citing "irreconcilable differences".

John Edwards of the Los Angeles Police Department revealed how he attended the couple's home in response to a 911 call.

He said: "“When you have a call come out and the 911 operator puts out on the call that she can hear the woman being beaten in the background, that's serious."

Describing the scene when he arrived, the cop said: "She's wearing nothing but a bra and sweatpants covered in mud and she kept yelling ‘he's going to kill me, he's going to kill me’.

“She was so wet and cold that you could feel her shivering to her bones.

“And I said, ‘well who's going to kill you?’ And she said ‘OJ’.

“She said you guys have been up here eight times before, all you do is talk to him, you never do anything."

The problem here is that when a celebrity with a big following makes a hate speech that is seen by perhaps millions of people, it encourages vandalism and physical violence, if not murder.  If he didn't maintain his meds properly he should NOT be excused, and I would judge that those who excuse him are no better than he is.

Antisemitism is increasing, hate crimes are increasing, and IMO he may be one of the causes for it..

Perhaps you should watch the movie Gentleman's Agreement that starred Gregory Peck and get a picture of what your comment seems to pardon.

In April 2017, the Southern Poverty Law Center filed a federal lawsuit on behalf of Tanya Gersh, accusing Anglin of instigating an anti-Semitic harassment campaign against Gersh, a Whitefish, Montana , real estate agent. [7] [8] In July 2019, a judge issued a $14 million default judgment against Anglin, who is in hiding and has refused to appear in court. [9] [10] [11] On November 9, 2022, a warrant was issued for Anglin's arrest for ignoring the judgment against him. [12]

Sines v. Kessler [ edit ]

In October 2017, Anglin was named as a defendant in a case brought by nine Charlottesville residents following the Unite the Right rally in August 2017. Anglin was named alongside Robert "Azzmador" Ray as responsible for The Daily Stormer website, as well as Moonbase Holdings. [13] A default judgement was entered against Anglin who did not participate in the trial. [14]

Dean Obeidallah [ edit ]

In August 2017, Muslim American radio presenter Dean Obeidallah sued The Daily Stormer in an Ohio federal court. Anglin had published fake images which purported to show Obeidallah celebrating the 2017 Manchester Arena bombing . The lawsuits cleared a longstanding hurdle in March 2018, when U.S. Magistrate Judge Jeremiah Lynch declared that there was sufficient evidence of Anglin being domiciled in Ohio despite living abroad. [15] In July, the court found in Obeidallah's favor, with neither Anglin nor his representatives present in court. [16]

American University student [ edit ]

Taylor Dumpson , the first black student body president at American University , sued Anglin in May 2018 for organizing a racist and sexist trolling campaign against her. [17] She alleges that Anglin had posted her name and picture, as well as links to her Facebook page and the Twitter account of the university's student government, and urged his readers to "troll storm" her, which resulted in many hate-filled and racist online messages directed at her. Although Dumpson and Anglin have not reached a settlement, she settled in December 2018 with one of the people who harassed her, a man from Eugene, Oregon named Evan McCarty who was a neo-Nazi musician and former theatre actor known as "Byron de la Vandal" (named after Byron De La Beckwith , the assassin of Medgar Evers ) who served as a member of the fascist Vanguard America and affiliated with the Daily Stormer. McCarty was required to apologize, to renounce white supremacy, to stop trolling and doxing online, and to provide information to and cooperate with authorities in the prosecution of white supremacists. [18] The lawsuit that was brought on her behalf was led by the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law which continues to use litigation as a tool to fight extremism and to slow the efforts [19] of white supremacists. [20]

On August 9, 2019, a Federal judge awarded Dumpson a judgment of over $725,000, to be paid by Andrew Anglin, Brian Andrew Ade, and the shell company which owns The Daily Stormer . The defendants did not show up to contest the lawsuit, so a default judgment was entered against them, consisting of $101,429.28 in compensatory damages, punitive damages of $500,000 and attorney's fees and costs of $124,022.10. A restraining order was also handed down, as was an injunction not to publish anything more about Dumpson. The judgement came only a day after Tanya Gersh was awarded a $14 million default judgment against Anglin.

They'll never see the money - a nice long jail term would have been better had it been available.  It's just like the Alex Jones situation - he declared bankruptcy again, this time personal bankruptcy.  There should be a way to get even with those animals.

Had a great relationship with a beautiful woman once who all of a sudden grabbed a knife and slit her wrist in front of me. For no reason.

We weren't breaking up and had no problems.

I did the first aid thing, called 911 and never saw her again.

Why are the most beautiful women insane?

That wasn't the first scar on her wrist.

Jones' bankruptcy ploy is going nowhere.  You can't bankrupt out from a judgment for intentional torts like defamation if the commission of the tort was willful and malicious and intended to cause injury  Also, punitive damages are not dischargeable in bankruptcy.

If Jones or his business attempt to transfer assets to other persons or entities, those would be considered fraudulent conveyances, and the assets can be clawed back by the banruptcy court for the benefit of the creditors.

He's going to pay.

Anglin is less likely to have the kind of assets Jones does, but they can pursue him for many, many years, and if he manages to accumulate attachable assets, hopefully they can be seized.

Doesn't matter why, they just have to be stopped in a New York second.

That aside, he can do as he likes with Twitter, but he cannot force people to use it or companies to advertise on it.

Better still he could have them take over several square blocks of Seattle and declare themselves the law there. Extorting money from anyone unfortunate enough to live or own a business there.

Until someone on the right does it (Minus the looting and arson; and no damage to private, city, or state property. And no taking over of any territory); then it is sedition.
