I raised my kids to be self-sufficient. They worked hard in high school, and they did charitable works. They went to college on a total scholarship. I know loads of kids just like them.

I have 3 grown children, VERY productive for themselves and in society. They weren't given "Participation Trophys" in their lives, so they would "FEEL Good" about themselves.

Look, there are two truths that go with that one. When I went to college it cost for a private U $5,600 a year. Adjust that for inflation and it comes to $22,157.02, but that is NOT the cost. it is over $60K. Even state schools are way up. So are you advocating for kids not to go college, or to rein in the cost of college, or only have kids who get scholarships go to college? Pick one.
The second thing is, not all of the Dems are advocating for paying off school debt.
Obviously I taught my kids to work hard as I posted earlier. Should I feign offense at that question?

By the way...."Ivey League" isn't what it used to be. ALL my kids chose to go to a cheaper "College". They ALL have 6 figure or over jobs. They even take me and my wife on vacation from time to time, although I could take them ALL on vacation at the same time. They just like to show their appreciation now and again.

I never said it was. I didn't go to an Ivy League college and I did fine. My kids on the other hand did and they are doing well, too. And I think that it's very nice that your kids treat you well and they should!
