Favorite TV Shows and Discussions About Them

If you have a favorite TV show, please share. Write an article about one you like, but if there are spoilers, please state so in the title or the primary sentence before diving in to the meat of the article.

Some of my favorites are as follows:

Anything Walking Dead or related spin-offs.

During "stay-at-home" has been in place, Snowpiercer, which is based on the movie of the same name... the season finale last night was amazing.

NOS4A2... what can I say, I like demented stuff.

Amazon series Uploaded

Netflix series Dead to Me

Stranger Things

Actually there's a few on Amazon Prime and Netflix I like but can't think of them all and I know there's more in general, but I'm tired. jrSmiley_86_smiley_image.gif

My favorite show (Serenity) is now long gone so I borrowed the only season from the library last week and got my fix. Fox really screwed up when they cancelled it. Loyal fans complained so loud and long that they ended up making a movie out of it (Firefly).

I faithfully watched the twilight zone back when everything was filmed in black and white.

Rod Serling was a genius and his introduction was legendary. "You are about to enter another dimension...…"

Many great writers and actors became famous off of the show.

The episode with William Shatner and an airplane eating demon is a classic. I think about it every time I fly in a window seat right behind the wing (my favorite seat).

The episode with William Shatner and an airplane eating demon is a classic.

I think that ranks as one of if not the most remembered episodes , the other 2 I like was with burgess merideth playing a librarian or a book worm who loved reading , and ended up being the last man on earth and could read to his hearts content and ends the episode with broken glasses that he can not see without and all the books he wants .

The other one was the civil war drama where a soldier stops at a house and an antebellum lady is waiting for her husband , slowly the soldier comes to realize that they are all in fact dead , and the last person to walk down the lane is Abraham Lincoln.

John Lithgow did that story in the Twilight Zone Movie.  There was an episode of 3d Rock From The Sun where Shatner played The Big Talking Head.  Lithgow met him at the airport and Shatner said the plane had some trouble with something messing with the wing of the plane.  Lithgow came back with "That happened to me once."  Few of my 3d Rock follower friends missed what that comment meant.

Too funny. I didn't get into 3rd Rock very much; I'd watch once in a while though. I loved the movie. Hate to say it but I have to keep one on at night. I got tired of it one time and shut it off before I went to bed. A mistake. She went nuts, crying and yipping, running up and down the hallway and bugging me. She actually started shaking like her world was ending.

When I turned it back on she sat there staring at it for about ten minutes then finally went and laid down.

I am a total anglophile in regards to the history of the English Royals, especially the Tudors.  But I also love the history of the Habsburgs (Austria)

My grandpa and I used to watch the Discovery Channel all the time together.

And EXCELLENT! I often wonder if I'm the only one that enjoys all of TWD series / spin-offs.

The Discovery channel used to be good, glad you and your grampa got to enjoy it

Lol other than you and me I'm pretty sure there's one other (forgot the name) that hangs out around here.  I only started watching about 3 seasons ago (during the early Saviour days) so haven't burned out yet, although that means I also have huge gaps in my knowledge of the early days

Yeah. There's a lot of good episodes early on in the season. I really enjoyed the first season of the original TWD; yes, there's a lot of character development and intros, but the early seasons help explain how Darryl becomes the awesome dude he is today and why he and Rick are so close. You missed a lot in the seasons previous to Saviors! There's one season that involves a group at a place called Terminus. That's a crazy season.

It might be worth a look-see to watch some of the earlier seasons. If you have Netflix, I believe you can watch past seasons. The season(s) that was/were NOT my favorite was the ones with "The Governor" but explains why some of the characters are close and or skeptical of others.

Terminus is a completely unknown to me but I believe I caught a couple episodes of The Governor in reruns (was that when Rick and a few others were living in a prison?).  Yes Darryl is awesome, my other faves are Glenn and Carol.

Maybe one of these days I'll get Netflix and binge the whole thing.  One question I've always wondered, does the show begin preinfection or after the poop has hit the fan?

I do as well. Actually I think I enjoy Fear more than TWD at this point but make a point of not missing any of them if I can help it 😊

Same here. So, are you a huge fan of the character John Dorie [played by Garrett Dillahunt] too?
