on a scale of 1 - 10,

how would you rate the Shitshow Sideshow Carnival Barker barkings about his handling of the virus ?

He gives himself a 10

.

If the scale had been

1 - 1,000

he would have been dead on, as opposed to potentially thousands actually winding up DEAD !

What a total FCK UP.

.

If we had had a REAL POTUS, the lives of Americans, would of been priority # 1,

over some self centered morally and ethically naked Empirical self thought King of LIARS, who's self interests always rise above anything or body.

I tend to listen to Morning Joe in the morning.  Today's program offered a bleak prospect, based on doctors and others they interviewed.

This virus pandemic is likely to be the most transformative event in the United States since World War 2, with vast disruptions in daily life that could last all year. Millions of people will likely lose their jobs. There likely will be no weddings with numerous guests, or even large wakes or funerals for the dead. Imagine an America with no communal activities for the better part of a year. That is an actual possibility.

There is another possibility, and that is that America is totally "locked down" for 2 or 3 weeks, and that could prevent the worst case scenarios and it could be over much much faster.

The time to do a lockdown may be now, a delay of even a week or two would make it all last a lot longer.

TikTok Star Licks Airplane Toilet Seat For New 'Coronavirus Challenge'

"I can recover from anything cuz of hot girl privalege (sic)."

TikTok star Ava Louise is being ripped on social media after she posted a video of herself licking an airplane toilet seat amid the growing coronavirus pandemic.

On Saturday, Louise, a 22-year-old influencer from Miami, shared the now-viral clip of her doing the deed, which she called, the "coronavirus challenge."

In the clip, which Louise has since-deleted from TikTok, the internet personality is seen licking the toilet seat as the popular TikTok song titled, "It's Corona Time" plays in the background. In the video, Louise wrote, "CORONAVIRUS CHALLENGE."

...

Gee, I wonder where she gets her news about the seriousness of the growing problem and how best to handled it? (snark)

Enjoy it while you can.  What hasn't been discussed is this virus will be with the human population from now on.  Since COVID-19 is transmitted easily and spreads rapidly, it has the ability to persist in the human population the same way influenza has remained in the human population.

If COVID-19 mutates, as does influenza, then we'll see these outbreaks on a regular basis.  Keep in mind that influenza vaccines are typically 35 to 40 pct effective and that there are 10 to 20 thousands deaths attributed to influenza each year.  COVID-19 may prove to be the new flu.

Safety today doesn't necessarily mean safety tomorrow.  COVID-19 has the potential to become a killer for all age groups; especially if the virus is allowed to spread more rapidly.

It may be my Southern roots but Trump seems to me singularly vulgar. As if his crudeness were a virtue. He certainly has none of the charms one normally expects from a leader or a statesman.  He is "Charm Free".

We really do not even know how widespread the Corona Virus is because there have never been nearly enough tests to even find out. Why, when we had months to prepare? Because proof that the damn virus was spreading here would tarnish whose vanity?

We know there are already thousands of cases and that they are doubling daily. We know this virus is about three times more contagious than the normal flu and at least ten times more morbid. We also know there are only about 72,000 ICU beds in all of America and that if this thing really blows up like it could we may find ourselves needing millions...too late!

Having competent leadership would be helpful. Unfortunately that too is scarce as babywipes!

So, I think I am being pretty fair here. Yes, liberal media does go after Trump, but the same can be said about what Obama produced.

Sitting on the sidelines with cash doing nothing, creating nothing, not taking any risk and sniping from the peanut gallery is the definition of failure.

Generally we agree on this point.   I would not deem affluent do nothings losers, but rather societal non-producers.   Not admirable.

However, Sandy is obviously (and correctly) making the point that Trump is not a great businessman.   He was out there taking risk, etc. and for that I agree he should get credit.   But when one under-performs as often (and as grand) as Trump, one should not hold him as an example of success.   Compare Bloomberg to Trump in terms of business competence.

Trump does celebrity well, business — not so much.

Those are just meaningless opinions that are a byproduct of a negative bias toward Trump.

Really? Which of the business that I listed was Trump actually successful in FW? Facts don't have a bias.

One can fail in business and still succeed in the long run as Trump has.

YOU said he was a 'successful business man' now you're flip flopping and claiming that he succeeded despite sucking at business.

I'd appreciate it if you'd plant your feet somewhere and defend that position rather than tap dancing all over the place.

That's not measure of a man.  It's what you do after you fail that counts.

What Trump did was profit off of his business tycoon 'persona' rather than the reality of his utter incompetence.

Taking risk is something very few have the stomach or talent for.

You keep trying to pretend that Trump is one of those with that talent. He isn't. Just stop.

They are everywhere around you and depend on people like Trump to make things happen for them.

Trump hasn't made anything happen for anyone but himself and his family. It's all a facade. Trump has used his advantages to defrauded his way though life. The fact that he was elected is a testament to the sad state of our politics.

Men of action are the people I associate with and to whom I am referring to.

Then WHY are you including Trump?

It seems you tend to dwell with the others whose negative bias prevents them from achieving more success.

That is a testament to YOUR bias. My comments have been about Trump and have cited FACTS about his incompetence in a venue for which YOU claim he is successful. You make that claim yet haven't been forthcoming with one iota of evidence to support it in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

We have a partner who travels the world advancing philosophies of successful people.

Who?

I don't have to pretend when I live it from day to day.

Then you should be disgusted by Trump's need to do so.

Try it sometime.

What are you claiming that I am pretending FW? Please be specific.

Originally TPTB have told Americans that masks dont work , or were cumbersome to wear, and the general public should not use them.

After reading a little about this , I believe this is false and was said to people just so that the masks would be conserved for health care givers.

From what I have read, pre corona pandemic, is that these masks are generally effective against this type of virus. I am talking about the masks designated as N95, which refers to the ability of the mask to block 95% of viral material. Of course they wouldnt be perfect, but they would save a lot of lives and enable endangered demographics to go out with some level of confidence in their safety against the virus.

What we should see happening is some manufacturers put on a war footing like we saw in WW2. Produce millions of these masks as soon as possible, and get them to people who have compromised immune systems asap.

This can be done and must be done.

All the relevant stores have been selling these masks for years. If they dont work why were people buying them and using them (pre corona virus)?

I think the telling the general public not to buy them was so that the supply would be conserved for heath care workers.

Make a bigger supply, pronto.

Are you trying to say that everyone who has ever bought this mask has to have it "fitted"?

People will do whatever they have to do to be safe.  I have a sister who has MS and it will be impossible for her to "hole up" for six months. As soon as they are available she is going to get masks and wear them to go to the grocery store, doctors office, drug store, etc, and even to her friends house, I am sure.  And she will feel safer for it.

Are you trying to say that everyone who has ever bought this mask has to have it "fitted"?

They come in different sizes.   The "fitting" is really about picking the right size to fit your face and how to fit it to your face if they have adjustable strips on them near the nose.   The main thing is to make sure they fit well on your face with no air spaces for particulate to get around.

Masks help screen out bigger particulate and help stop you from aspirating bigger particulate out into the air space.   They are of limited help if used properly but are not 100% effective.

You need a full bio-suit and full face respirator with proper filtration for that.

10.1.8  JohnRussell  replied to  Perrie Halpern R.A. @10.1.6    4 years ago

Infectious disease expert Amesh A. Adalja, MD, senior scholar at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security, tells   Health   that the N95 is still the recommended face mask for health professionals, because it has the capacity to filter out very small particles that could possibly contain the virus. “This is different than a surgical mask, which can only stop larger droplets,” says Dr. Adalja.

The N95 is designed to achieve "a very close facial fit," according to the   Food and Drug Administration , and if properly fitted blocks "at least 95%" of very small test particles, though it doesn't completely eliminate the risk of illness, per the FDA.

Right now, the advice from the   CDC   is that health care workers use “respiratory protection (i.e., a respirator) that is at least as protective as a fit-tested NIOSH-certified disposable N95 filtering facepiece respirator before entry into the patient room or care area.” Additionally, all staff should be medically cleared and fit-tested if using a disposable N95 mask and trained in the proper use, safe removal, and disposal of the mask.

While those who work in health care settings are advised to wear the N95 face mask, there is no such advisory for the general public. The N95 face mask is only recommended for health professionals dealing with patients who may be infected with the coronavirus. No face mask is advised for people who don't work in health care settings where coronavirus poses a risk.

“Masks are not highly effective for the general public, who often don’t wear them correctly,” says Dr. Adalja. In fact, he stresses that the demand for the N95 and other face masks by the public may create supply problems for those who actually need them.

There is no situation in which a face mask might provide increased protection to the general public, even during air travel, says Dr. Adalja. He doesn’t think it helps to see celebrities wearing masks. “It increases panic,” he explains.

As the coronavirus continues to spread, the official advice may change, and people are advised to keep an eye on the CDC website, which is updated whenever any new information is available. In the meantime, forgo the mask and focus on more effective preventative measures, such as frequent hand-washing and covering the mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.

I think that before long the health professionals are going to say that the mask is usable by the general population.

They said otherwise so that there wouldnt be a run on them that prevented nurses and other care givers from getting them.

key words are "fit-tested" and "NIOSH certified". I used to run the base respiratory protection program at my last base. I didn't fit the N95 disposable mask but if they are like any other filtering facepiece, they must be the right size and fitted for the person's face. That means conducting "smell" tests so that you are assured that the mask fits properly.

Then why didn't your president see that obvious problem and fix it?

Because everything Trump touches turns to shit. [Truman: "The buck stops here." Trump: "I don't have any responsibility."]

From Edna K. on Twitter. A timeline of Trump's coronavirus comments:

“I know more about viruses than anyone.”

January 22: “We have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China. It’s going to be just fine.”

February 2: “We pretty much shut it down coming in from China.”

February 24: “The Coronavirus is very much under control in the USA… Stock Market starting to look very good to me!”

February 25: “CDC and my Administration are doing a GREAT job of handling Coronavirus.”

February 25: “I think that's a problem that’s going to go away… They have studied it. They know very much. In fact, we’re very close to a vaccine.”

February 26: “The 15 (cases in the US) within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero.”

February 26: “We're going very substantially down, not up.”

February 27: “One day it’s like a miracle, it will disappear.”

February 28: “We're ordering a lot of supplies. We're ordering a lot of, uh, elements that frankly we wouldn't be ordering unless it was something like this. But we're ordering a lot of different elements of medical.”

February 28: “One of my people came up to me and said, ‘Mr. President, they tried to beat you on Russia, Russia, Russia. That didn’t work out too well. They couldn’t do it.’ They tried the impeachment hoax,” “And this is their new hoax.”

February 28: “It’s going to disappear. One day, it’s like a miracle, it will disappear.”

March 2: “You take a solid flu vaccine, you don't think that could have an impact, or much of an impact, on corona?”

March 2: “A lot of things are happening, a lot of very exciting things are happening and they’re happening very rapidly.”

March 4: “The flu is worse.”

March 4: “If we have thousands or hundreds of thousands of people that get better just by, you know, sitting around and even going to work — some of them go to work, but they get better.”

March 5: “I NEVER said people that are feeling sick should go to work.”

March 5: “The United States… has, as of now, only 129 cases… and 11 deaths. We are working very hard to keep these numbers as low as possible!”

March 6: “I think we’re doing a really good job in this country at keeping it down… a tremendous job at keeping it down.”

March 6: “Anybody right now, and yesterday, anybody that needs a test gets a test. They’re there. And the tests are beautiful…. the tests are all perfect like the letter was perfect. The transcription was perfect. Right? This was not as perfect as that but pretty good.”

March 6: “I like this stuff. I really get it. People are surprised that I understand it… Every one of these doctors said, ‘How do you know so much about this?’ Maybe I have a natural ability. Maybe I should have done that instead of running for president.”

March 6: “I don't need to have the numbers double because of one ship that wasn't our fault.”

March 7: “Anyone who wants a test can get one.”

March 8: “We have a perfectly coordinated and fine tuned plan at the White House for our attack on CoronaVirus.”

Friday, March 13: "Two very big words..."

Everything that spews forth from that lying pig is a lie or an excuse.

That would be a pretty cool trick.   Having a test already prepared for a virus we don't know about yet and once we do know about it, getting the test researched and prepared in record time for record numbers.
Don't remember this much whining with the H1N1 situation but then again King Obama was in office for that one so all was good no matter what back then.

But this is Trump. He was supposed to have foreseen an unknown virus, where and exactly when it started, developed a test for it, and tested everyone when he discovered the first case. And he was supposed to convince foreign powers how exactly to handle situations in their countries. He was also supposed to cure cancer and everything wrong in the world.

Absolutely none of that was expected about Obama.

Here's a hint.  Cutting excess personnel and transferring responsibilities is NOT eliminating an office.

Maybe it is the same to some folks, After all, some folks claimed budget INcreases were actually budget cuts, too.

Amazingly, Reagan is still being proven right some 30+years later.

STFU, is rude but not name calling. You actually called a member a very foul name. That is the difference.

I do have an issue with people not following the general tone guidelines in this article from the CoC. The CoC does count even in a public group.

Not anymore.  But they also tested very few people.  Some folks who were symptomatic and had been in contact with those who were diagnosed weren't tested, simply because they hadn't traveled recently.

Trump and Bolton DID dissolve the Global Health Security Directorate in the NSC and delegated the responsibility of pandemic response to Tim Morrison, a nuclear super hawk, who has NO expertise in health security or in running a emergency.

It's telling that the unnamed 'official who still holds the post' is nowhere to be seen or heard on the task force.

Oh wait what's this?

Directly from your own code of conduct

"DEROGATORY LABELS: Do not label a member with terms such as Nazi, commie, socialist, un-American. Descriptive, derogatory terms such as these are allowed as part of a discussion if they do not apply to a member. For example, ‘bigoted’ is allowed when referring to a concept or comment (i.e. that statement is bigoted), but do not so label another member (e.g. ‘you are a bigot’ or ‘you are bigoted against X’).

Labeling and/or creative name-calling of entire political groups, ideological, religious, cultural, sexual identity / orientation, etc. groups (i.e. Rethuglicans, Libtards, etc), is forbidden. Phrases meant to denigrate are not allowed (e.g. ‘your ilk’).

Common abbreviations such as STFU, FU, and GFYS are considered personal derogatory attacks and are forbidden."

Removing a boot licker and reassigning the responsibilities is what was done.

Rear Admiral R. Timothy Ziemer is no fucking boot licker XD.

And to further instruct you of that salient fact I'll again provide the following:

Tim Morrison is the boot licker and unqualified to hold the position Bolton gave him. Morrison's mistake was in leaving his safe place as a staffer for the Republican House.

Having a test already prepared for a virus we don't know about yet and once we do know about it, getting the test researched and prepared in record time for record numbers.

You're just repeating Trumps BS. They STILL don't have readily available testing, 58 days after the first US case. That 'record time and record number' stuff is propaganda.

Don't remember this much whining with the H1N1 situation but then again King Obama was in office for that one so all was good no matter what back then.

In 2009, the Obama Administration's CDC had tested 5000 people in the first 5 weeks and the number of confirmed cases [tested] in the first 2 months was OVER 21,000 with 87 deaths.

Maybe THAT'S why you don't remember any whining...

Then why didn't your president see that obvious problem and fix it?
