The Search Begins
"Voting is as much an emotional act as it is an intellectual one." Monica Crowley

I have begun my research in earnest in regards to the candidates.  I like to gather as much information on all the contenders and pretenders. I still have not found anyone I can throw my support behind completely.  I am tired of the "lesser than 2 evils" approach that has become our Presidential Elections.

What do you all think of Mike Bloomberg?

Who is the front runner for you?

I think Bloomberg is the only D candidate who has a chance to displace Trump in the general.    If the economy remains strong and people remain content (locally) history shows that the incumbent wins huge.   Simple fact is that voters tend to resist change when things seem to be working.

Bloomberg might be able to convince voters that electing him would not change the good times but would get the advantage of a PotUS who would act presidential.   Very tough gig, but I do not see anyone else having a chance to pull it off.

Anyone but Trump is the way to go.

There is a group that has gained a modicum of publicity, called the Lincoln Project.

It is a group of Republicans with relatively high profiles in the national media who are performing as activists against Trump's re-election. A specific part of their operation is the declaration that they, as Republicans, understand that the most important thing in 2020 is to remove Trump from office and end the daily damage he is doing to our national political and social institutions. Along those lines they urge people to vote for whoever the Democratic candidate is, in the recognition that four more years of Trump is worse than ANY of the Democrats, and they also urge that the Republican control of the US Senate come to an end in this election.

If prominent long time republicans can go to these lengths, it is something every American should think about.

My first choice is Bloomberg, second choice is Amy Klobuchar and then Mayor Pete. I am looking forward to this debate. Things should get very interesting.

I thought Mayor Pete was a real dick to Senator Klobuchar over a Senate confirmation hearing vote.  She didn't handle it as well as she could have and almost lost it when he stupidly repeated it like it was important to anyone but him.

I have to agree with that, but on the dick scale, the front runners were the worst.

Amy was a whiny bitch who tried to pull the gender card when Pete called her out on her voting record.  She became unhinged.   She was rude and obnoxious while he was calm and never once made it personal unlike her.

Why would you think it's not important to discuss FACTS about someone's record?

It isn't personal when some young smug guy claims you are personally responsible for the mess at the border?

Why would do think that out of the 500 plus Senate confirmations Klobuchar was involved with, that she would be personally responsible for one of those appointments who followed heinous orders from Trump, Sessions, Nielsen  and others about separating the children from their families.

It was the cheapest lowest debate tactic I have seen on the Democratic debate platform in recent memory.

It knocked Pete off my list because it was cold, cheap, unfair and he did it twice to make sure

Amy looked like she was nearly out of control.

I wouldn't vote for her either after her reaction.

Really?  Pete said she was personally the only one responsible for the mess at the border?   She went berserk and was basically a poster child for the stereotype about women who are often described as being unhinged.   She kept raising her voice, cutting him off, flailing her hands around, tossing out personal insults and ignoring the moderators.  It was embarrassing to watch.

Apparently you missed it so here you go.

I have to say that Bloomberg's ads are much, much better than his debate performance.

Do you think he won over any voters last night?

I will say he had a couple of good moments, but overall, disappointing.

Bloomberg. None of the women have a chance in hell of winning no matter how qualified they may be. Unfortunately for our country, America is just not ready to elect a woman President.

They would rather elect a mangy dog than a fully qualified woman candidate. Hopefully, one day that will change. However, I don't see it happening with this election.

I don't agree. Hillary almost won had she done her due diligence. It's these two women that I am not sure of. I do like Klobuchar because she is so normal, but that doesn't seem to sell. But only time will tell.

I agree about Hillary. She and her supporters thought too highly of her winning hands down, thinking that since Trump was an outsider and not by any means Presidential material, she would have the election wrapped up. Thus, they were all much to lax to take the election that serious.

I would have backed Michael Bennet but I guess he was too much of a gentlemen to make it.  I won't vote for Warren, Sanders or Klobitchy.  I would hold my nose and vote for Biden or Pete.

I don't care if Putin re-elects Trump.  The power is in Congress.  Patriots need to vote out the republican traitors.

Putin hasn't elected anyone.

The power is in Congress.  Patriots need to vote out the republican traitors.

Good luck with that.

Hasn't worked out too well so far.

And if Democrats nominate Bernie, you can probably forget about ousting very many Republicans--and probably will lose seats overall.
