Republicans unveil new agenda if they win back House

While democrats punish America to hurt Trump the GOP has a positive agenda for the benefit of America

S E E D E D   C O N T E N T

Americans will be voting earlier than ever in this year’s election. This iframe is not allowed Ttwenty-three states will be sending out mail-in ballots by Sept. 19 and polling suggests a near majority of Americans plan to submit their vote as soon as possible. Say goodbye to the October surprise, Election Day is effectively here.

As voters assess what Congress did for them over the last two years, the record of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her Democratic Party majority is abysmal. Among their most serious derelictions:

  • They orchestrated the most baseless, rushed and partisan impeachment in U.S. history.
  • They support defunding the police, defunding border patrol and shrinking our military budget.
  • They obstructed financial relief for the American people throughout the pandemic, demanding passage of an unrelated liberal wish list instead.

It was this time two years ago Democrats promised their majority would serve with “a responsibility to seek common ground.” They did just the opposite.

Americans are fed up with politicians who say one thing and then do another. Instead of empty rhetoric, they deserve results.

We are announcing our Commitment to America with three specific objectives: restore our way of life, rebuild the greatest economy in history, and renew the American dream.

Republicans believe our constituents have a right to know exactly what we will do if given the privilege to lead the House of Representatives, and we have a responsibility to tell them.

That is why we are announcing our Commitment to America with three specific objectives: restore our way of life, rebuild the greatest economy in history, and renew the American dream.

Without question, we must and we will defeat COVID-19 and keep America healthy.

To restore our way of life, we will work to triple rapid testing nationwide, deliver a vaccine that is safe, effective, and available by the end of the year, protect individuals with pre-existing conditions, and invest in therapeutics while lowering drug prices across the board.

Compounding the national challenge caused by the pandemic are the job losses and small-business closures it has brought on across our nation.

To rebuild our economy, we will commit to get America working again and add 10 million new jobs through proven, pro-growth policies. That starts with $200 billion in forgivable loans to local businesses through the Paycheck Protection Program. This program, which I call our Marshall Plan for Main Street, has already saved 51 million jobs and can still save more. Democrats’ continued refusal to pass more relief over politics will only take our economy backward .

Beyond supporting existing businesses – which helped create the greatest economy in a generation before the pandemic – we will continue to bolster America’s poorest communities by making permanent Opportunity Zone credits, which generate $10 billion in economic growth each year.

But perhaps there is no more urgent post-pandemic undertaking than ending our dependence on China. This virus has exposed countless vulnerabilities, particularly China’s control of critical supply chains for medicines, protective medical equipment, and technology. That must end now.

Following the recommendations of the China Task Force that House Republicans established last spring , we will increase U.S. manufacturing and build supply chain resiliency through full expensing on a permanent basis for all U.S. investment and restoration of domestic production tax credits. While Democrats ignore the threat from China, Republicans will take it head on.

With restored health and a plan for prosperity, Americans will look to resume the regular rhythm of our lives. But many communities will still be gripped by unrest that continues to lead to violence. Without respect for public safety, all the pro-growth policies in the world won’t put America back on her feet.

We must ensure the security and safety of all communities. That means improving our police forces, not defunding them. We will increase funding for law enforcement by $1.75 billion for better police training, community policing, and equipment, including 500,000 more body cameras on the streets.

Finally, Americans will need to close the education gap caused by remote learning. Unfortunately, even when in-person classes resume across the country, too many children will still be trapped in a failing education system that doesn’t prioritize the needs of students.

To renew the American Dream, we will ensure every child in every neighborhood can go to the school that is best for them, while directing millions towards high-quality STEM education to prepare our kids for the jobs of tomorrow.

At the same time, we will promote opportunities for career and technical education and workforce development for any American looking to earn a promotion or pursue a meaningful new career, especially our nation’s veterans.

In the present crisis, Americans are making great sacrifices, and they expect their representatives in Washington to match their dedication.

We’ve worked with President Trump to build the greatest economy in a generation and we are prepared to do it again.

Meanwhile, Congressional Democrats spent two years pursuing baseless investigations instead of working to improve the lives of our fellow citizens.

We reject such a small vision for our country. While some on the other side have all but given up on America, we make a Commitment to America.

Together, we can overcome the challenges that confront us today and build a stronger, more prosperous nation for the future.

Dubbed the "Commitment to America," House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., outlined a blueprint for restoring the economy, defeating the coronavirus and backing school choice and law enforcement.

"This is our commitment to you -- to every single American regardless of party, gender, or color skin: We will restore your way of life. We will rebuild the greatest economy. And we will renew the American dream. Join us and let's reunite this nation."

In their first full day back to Washington since the summer recess, the GOP House members gathered outside the Capitol in a show of force and unity. Their message was that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and her fellow Democrats failed in their two years in power, and it's time to return the House to GOP control.

Democrats currently have control of 232 seats, compared to 198 for the GOP. There are four vacancies and one libertarian in Rep. Justin Amash. Assuming the vacant seats stay within the same party, Republicans will need to pick up at least 17 net seats to take back the House in November.

Republicans sought to draw clear distinctions from Democrats on school choice, providing more money to law enforcement and taxes.

"The war on police must end," said Rep. Pete Stauber, R-Minn. "The terrorizing and elimination of law enforcement must stop. Law and order will be restored in our communities."'

The three main themes for the GOP agenda are: “Restore Our Way of Life,” “Rebuild the Greatest Economy in History,” and “Renew the American Dream.”

The GOP agenda calls for adding 10 million more jobs, starting with an additional $200 billion in forgivable loans to small businesses through the Paycheck Protection Program.

Dubbed the " Commitment to America ," House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., outlined a blueprint for restoring the economy

Here's the problem, 3+ years ago the economy was in great shape, it is the Republicans that have crashed it...again.

defeating the coronavirus

Like all the other western countries already have?  Once again, Republican in charge and we are by far the worst corona virus response within the industrial nations.

backing school choice and law enforcement

As long as that choice does not include the safety of its children, since the economy is more important than keeping our children healthy.  And the Republican party has a habit of also supporting criminal behavior from law enforcement.  How about just supporting law enforcement that does their jobs properly?

Basically McCarthy is promising to fix what HE BROKE!

The Repubs have found that lying about anything is A-OK since their God is doing nothing but lying and getting away with it. So...why bother telling the truth. They know that none of Trumps followers or their party members would believe the truth, but, are willing to accept unconditionally any and all lies Trump puts out on a daily, if not hourly basis.

So....lying has become the new norm for the GOP politicians and their WH pos.

Why should anyone believe Republicans? Their President lies more than he tells the truth. This Republican administration and President hid the truth about Covid and cost tens of thousands of Americans their lives. Republicans also claimed during the Obama years they were going to be fiscal conservatives and stop the rising debt yet as soon as they took power they gave a huge tax cut to the wealthy and corporations and have added $5.2 TRILLION to the national debt in just over 3 years.

"Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me."

Don't let these Republican liars and thieves fool you, they only care about re-creating and strengthening their desired white Christian patriarchy. They care nothing for our constitution or our citizens as shown by their continued push for some sick right wing theocracy.

Don't let these Republican liars and thieves fool you

Another prime example:

"South Dakota's attorney general struck and killed a man while driving on Saturday night, a death that was discovered after he initially told police he had hit a deer , the South Dakota Department of Public Safety said Monday."

"Ravnsborg, a Republican, was elected South Dakota attorney general in 2018, according to his office's website."

"Anyone who can be trusted in little matters can also be trusted in important matters. But anyone who is dishonest in little matters will be dishonest in important matters." - Luke 16:10

The conservative Republicans of today simply can't be trusted. Their President is a known liar with over 30,000 lies told in just the last four years. Kevin McCarthy's track record isn't much better.

  • McCarthy claimed that mandatory spending accounted for just 25 percent of federal spending under President Ronald Reagan. Actually, it averaged about 43 percent.
  • McCarthy wrongly claimed that the labor force participation rate was “going back up” after decreasing under President Barack Obama. The rate is exactly where it stood when Obama left office.
  • McCarthy falsely claimed Consumer Reports warned “Americans not to go to the [HealthCare.gov] website because of the fear of having fraud.” The consumer advocate initially advised people to wait until the website’s many technical problems were worked out, but it told us that its advice “was not in reference to any concerns regarding fraud.”
  • McCarthy falsely says Justin Amash votes more often with Nancy Pelosi than him
  • McCarthy lied when he said of the tax cut "Every single American is going to keep more of what they earn," when the fact was some Americans saw an increase due to the scaled back mortgage-interest deduction.
  • McCarthy lied when he claimed "We’re not taking a benefit away. Nobody on Medicaid is going to be taken away," and then Republicans cut Medicaid funding by $880 billion.
  • McCarthy lied when he said "the Democratic majority led the 111th Congress to spend more money in two years than the first 100 congresses before them combined." Just the prior two years of 2006 and 2007 proved him wrong without even having to add up the last 200 years of congressional spending.

Well, yes, sort of.  He reported it from the scene then went back 9 or 10 hours later and located the body.

He must have been suspicious of what he hit or just doing due diligence...he discovered the deceased the next morning.

The attorney general of South Dakota, Jason R. Ravnsborg, released a new statement late Monday elaborating on what happened after the car he was driving struck and killed a man walking on a darkened highway over the weekend.

It contained his startling revelation that he had personally found the body of Joe Boever, 55, of Highmore, S.D., the morning after he and the local sheriff had failed to find what they had assumed was a deer late Saturday night.

“I discovered the body of Mr. Boever in the grass just off the roadway,” Mr. Ravnsborg wrote, adding that “it was apparent that he was dead.”

In the two days after the crash, the authorities and Mr. Ravnsborg’s office did not discuss in detail what happened immediately after the impact, including the condition of the vehicle, a 2011 Ford Taurus, or whether he had looked for what it had struck.
