Michael Moore thinks he gets it!
Every beaten down, forgotten working stiff loves Donald Trump

The following is the explanation via progressive Michael Moore on why Donald Trump was going to win, despite polling to the contrary:

What does Moore say about the 2020 race?

"Michael Moore famously predicted Trump’s win in 2016. Today he appeared on the Hill’s show Rising and warned that the presidential race could be closer than it appears, especially in battleground states: “Trump has tightened virtually every one of these swing states to the point where—what are they saying this morning…Biden’s 5 points ahead in Wisconsin, maybe 3 points ahead in Florida, 2 points ahead in Arizona.”
“Listen, don’t believe these polls, first of all, and second of all the Trump vote is always being undercounted,” Moore said. He went on to suggest that when pollsters call Trump voters they are not likely to get the truth out of them. Moore admitted his opinion was not scientific but based on his own instincts, “Whatever they’re saying the Biden lead is, cut it in half right now in your head. Cut it in half and now you’re within the four point margin of error.” “That’s how close this is,” he added."

It is different in one sense. In 2016 the left was caught off guard. They thought Trump had zero chance. This time every one of them will vote.

I expect record turnout for this election with both extremes fully energized. Which side is larger?  Is it the educated elite? Or the hard working, noble, middle Americans?

We shall find out in 4 days....(we hope it's only 4 days)

Do people lie to pollsters?

“Yes,”  says Robert Cahaly, Trafalgar Group's Cheif Pollster, “but they’re not necessarily doing anything wrong. If a grandmother says, ‘This is my grandson, isn’t he a handsome boy?’ and you can see he’s anything but handsome—he’s sickly and weird-looking—you don’t say, ‘No, he’s sickly and weird-looking.’ You just say, ‘He sure is.’ ”

Is it the educated elite? Or the hard working, noble, middle Americans?

This  is presented as an either or.  lol.

There are plenty of "hard working, noble, middle Americans" that can't stand your president*.

I doubt you have much in common with Michael Moore. His objection to Biden is that he isnt progressive enough.  Still Moore is telling everyone to vote for Biden and is working for it. He just wants the new administration, should there be one, to enact policies to help middle Americans as well as special interest groups.

Those who refuse to admit Donald Trump is not fit for office are placing themselves outside the new mainstream should Biden be elected. We are not going to go through this shit with trumpster diehards for four more years.

Montana has a website where those that vote early can actually check if their ballot was received .. I am sure other states do as well .. people need to track their ballots...!

Do you realize that the Gore people were contesting military ballots (supposedly they tend to go Republican). They were seeking to get them tossed if they weren't dated or witnessed!

Albeit it will not be the Gore people this go round .. but I have a feeling both sides will be doing their share of contesting battle ground states depending on how close the vote is and how long it takes to count...

P.s.... Gore also made a mistake by waiting til December to request a statewide recount ... it is said he actually won .. but did not fight hard enough.  who knows!

If it is that close, I'm guessing that it will be PA that will become the bloodbath for the 2020 election.

P.s.... Gore also made a mistake by waiting til December to request a statewide recount

He only looked for a recount of heavily democrat leaning districts.

That was truly an establishment v establishment election.

I think you are correct it will be PA

It has that silly rule about letting people send in ballots right up to election day and three days after to count them. It has 20 electoral votes (a fairly good size population) and it is a crucial state for the President. I think Biden lost PA with his "fracking" flip-flops + his energy policy. The way it will all play out is that those election day ballots will be counted first, giving Trump a big lead and that will lead to the democrats sending their lawyers out for that long slow count of mail in ballots. I'm sure we'll all be asking "how many more ballots are out there?" by the following week.

FL will always be a battle ground with Miami Dade and Broward county .

Miami Dade is home to the proud, patriotic Cuban American population, who never forgot the horrors of Castro, Socialism and one party rule. (Not to mention what JFK or Bill Clinton did). They are the backbone of the GOP in Florida. I expect Trump to win Florida by 5-10 points. There won't be any chaos there.

Also note that the 2018 midterms were a bit of a blue wave - one which Florida defied!

This is the second time that I have agreed with Michael Moore - in 2016 it was rather apparent that many were simply staying silent as to whom they would be voting for .. I witnessed it repeatedly at the gun club on league nights, words were coming out of their mouths, but their body language did not support that they would not be voting Trump (especially among women) ..

2020 is a different beast .. one would / should think Biden is a shoe in because of the pandemic - but people are pandemic weary .. ultimately the economy may be what undecided individuals will be looking at when casting their vote .. who knows ........ it is however quite exciting to see the voter turn out.

I voted a mixed ticket on state and local elections, my vote is more important on this level - Montana will go to Trump .. as I have said many times, I support the Electoral College .. so I cannot bitch about our 3 votes going to Trump.

Florida, because of it's climate and amenities has been a desirable location for a while. In 1940 the population of Florida was 1.8 Million. Today it is 21.4 Million.

It seems they never learn. They vote for the same things that made life unbearable.

Those are supposed to be the two Republican bastions, yet they cannot be colored red immediately, unlike CA and NY which are perpetually blue.

Population is one of FL's biggest downfalls .. so busy filling in natural wetlands in order to accommodate growth - that when the hurricanes hit, there is no place for the water to go but up... same is true about the wetlands in the Houston TX area .. our natural wetlands are so important - yet so disrespected!

Agreed. Can we save what is left?

YES!  by just stopping further development and protecting said lands.. sadly states are so desperate for revenue getting said lands protected is not an easy task .. In Montana land owners are leaving large swaths of their property in land trusts that can never be developed (this is key to saving wide open spaces and wetlands)

When I worked for the NRCS (Natural Resource Conservation Service) the federal government was offering 99 year government leases for ranchers / farmers lands to leave the land natural or returning to original .. all said farmer and ranchers had to do was follow guidelines on grazing and water use.  Gov.co was also assisting ranchers and farmers with pivot purchases for irrigation .. once again taking the pressure off of the wetlands..

Trees are my passion .. 'we' have to begin cleaning out our forest to help during wildfire season and with 'climate change'..  protecting our wetlands in order to help prevent such severe devastation of hurricanes and 'climate change' .. sadly there is no way to stop the tornado .. no matter what we do....

They're not really "fleeing" so much as moving to rural States and communities now that they can work from home with their tech jobs, and they move there to take advantage of the dirt cheap housing prices and the fact that their vote will now weigh three times more. Now that triple strength vote will be going towards liberal and progressive Presidential candidates to turn those deep red electoral college pockets at least purple if not blue. Once progressives spread out all across America we won't have to suffer from brainless religious conservatives getting elected and can finally move our nation into the 21st century.

My great great grandfather was born in the Montana territory and was an individuals accepted by the Crow Nation .. his family was allowed to farm ..  my great grandfather was 2 years older than the state - showed me as a child the wild horses of the Pryor Mountains - taught me to respect the ways / cultures of others ... not all whites treated the natives or blacks as other did...

What was the government to do?

Follow the treaty which SCOTUS called the highest law in the land.

Our country was founded upon the principle of equality for all its citizenry.

True.

While we have made strides and some may contend the opportunity has always existed, it still exists on an uneven playing field.

The opportunity did not exist until after "reconstruction." It has been an evolving process. Today the playing field is level.

To truly level the playing field is to rectify our past indiscretions and achieve all we were promised.

"our" past indiscretions? I'm sorry, that's not true. There is nobody alive today who was part of that. It is divisive to promote such an idea.

The concept of equality does not guarantee the reality of equity...and the disparity between the two will only be diminished in rectifying our past and not making the same mistakes going forward.

I don't see most of us making the same mistakes. There are those who seem to want some form of retribution. That would be a mistake.

I don't know if I'll ever get out there, but I'm glad to hear it.

the Native Americans out gunned the soldiers, it was discovered that they had weapons that the military did not have....

Along with the mutilation of the bodies.... I understand there are body parts mixed up in various graves.

I defy you to show where anyone moved because of voting. thats stupid.

I've had multiple central California clients tell me they were moving to rural red states to try and boost progressive voting in swing States that has been recently going to Republicans so I know it's happening, but you can be in denial all you want. I've also had many wealthy Republicans moving to California from States like Texas because they have the money and they want the California lifestyle of comfortable temperate climate and beautiful coastal scenery. I live in a little town on the California coast and the average 1200 sq ft fixer-upper goes for around $900k (the remodeled homes run $2-$7M). So middle income progressives have been moving out while wealthy conservatives have been moving in. The difference now is that the conservatives aren't really importing their conservative values, they turn into ecological warriors when it's their beautiful coastline and backyards that are at risk of offshore drilling and inland fracking. Funny how that happens.

Perhaps conservatives are smart enough to not uproot their families and moving to a different state to affect voting?

like one family will make a difference in a state with millions!

Nope - Truth has nothing to do with taunting and smearing. Over here it will be those who provoke who gets the ticket - not the person you incite.

I guess you'll be locking this seed soon so no one can respond as per your usual tactic.

Believe it or not, it is at my discretion, not yours or even Bill Ayers.

Thanks for proving me right Vic.

You are not right. Your endless trolling should have been ended long ago.

I'll have fun commenting on your mindless seeds next Tuesday as you gnash your teeth in anger and frustration over a pitiful ass kicking of Trump and his whole worthless cadre of bigots and money grubbing enablers.

I wonder if you'll even be here after the election.

Hi again...

Southeastern Montana was not an overly friendly environment back in the day .. winter comes on hard in the eastern side of the state.  great grandad told many stories about his (my moms) side of the family (was tapped for information by more than one historian).. the prejudices / stereotypes here are against the Native population .. grandad would hear nothing of it .. "Custer's last stand" was not overly far, as the crow flies, from the original homestead .. the stories I learned were a bit different than the history I was taught in school .. if not for my grandad I am sure that I would be guilty of the same stereotypical thoughts ..

I am a child of the 70's in Montana - my Social studies / state history teachers and I argued often, starting in the 5th grade .. that and a guy I went from 1st  grade to 8th grade with, his dad was our little league coach and the brother of Leonard Peltier .. learned a great deal at a young age.

I know you read ... I recommend the book In the Spirit of Crazy Horse by Peter Matthiessen

Just ask razing or Just Jim .. I am a derailer - not really intentionally (most of the time) but I like asking questions, especially of those that have no true agenda .. but plenty of knowledge to share..

With everything that has been taking place in society at this time .. paired with the upcoming election ... a good conversation is needed..

Ooo and about the mutilation on the battle field .. I am not certain that it has been really proven what was story and what wasn't ... it is not something I have much knowledge of .. however, by that point in history, I think there was plenty of carnage to go around...
