Weaker by the day
"Completely and utterly unacceptable. Biden promised to welcome immigrants, and people voted for him based on that promise," Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-NY, said.

Today we learned that President Biden is expected to increase the refugee cap for this fiscal year, just hours after he signed an executive order that kept it at the same level that President Trump set it at. Trump lowered the refugee cap for FY 2021 to 15,000. The announcement immediately drew fire from left-wing Democrats and immigrant activist groups. That's all it took! Soon after Jen Psaki told us: "While finalizing that determination, the President was urged to take immediate action to reverse the Trump policy that banned refugees from many key regions, to enable flights from those regions to begin within days; today’s order did that," she said. "With that done, we expect the President to set a final, increased refugee cap for the remainder of this fiscal year by May 15."

(On an unrelated note she told us that there was a very slim chance that the New York Times story on Russia putting bounties on US soldiers was true.)

Jen Psaki retreats

Is there any doubt that this is a government dominated by progressives?

We all know about Biden's assigning his VP to take charge of the crisis on the border. What happened with that? One gets the feeling that he's not really calling the shots. Kamala Harris is off doing her own thing and hasn't gone near the border since senile Joe gave her the responsibility. The border is exploding with migrants.

Than we have the debacle in foreign affairs. We started with a Chinese delegation lecturing Biden's delegation on human rights. One of the greatest insults US diplomats ever had to endure. Recently he decided to get tough with Vladimir Putin, as Russian troops were being massed along the Ukraine border. Thursday, Biden announced sanctions against Russia in response to cyberattacks against the US and "interference in two presidential elections." Ten Russian diplomats were expelled.  Putin has responded by expelling 10 US diplomats and then putting a ban on all foreign warships from the Black Sea. It sounds like the US military has some serious thinking to do. Tensions are now high.

Putin quickly responds.

What are the chances that Biden regrets or tries to walk back the sanctions?

Then there is that desire to get back into the Iran Deal, you know the one that President Trump had no problem walking away from. Biden wants it as bad as Obama did - Or is it Susan Rice trying to restore the Obama legacy?  Iran welcomes the desperation for the deal. Unfortunately for Biden and his handlers, only a few years ago Iran began overtly violating the agreement by increasing the purity of its enriched uranium closer to weapons-grade, installing more advanced centrifuges to enrich uranium, and producing uranium metal, part of the process of making nuclear bomb fuel. The Biden delegation demanded that Iran come back into compliance before retuning the deal. Iran trumped that demand by insisting that Iran will not reverse its overt violations of the agreement unless the U.S. first lift all sanctions. Will Biden capitulate?

(The Jerusalem Post  reported  on Monday that senior Israeli officials are very troubled by a recent statement by U.S. Special Envoy for Iran Robert Malley that the U.S. goal at the Vienna meetings is to return to nuclear deal without calling to strengthen it.  https://www.jpost.com/international/israel-troubled-by-us-position-ahead-of-iran-talks-this-week-664098 )

As each day goes by the veneer wears away and it is clear that the radical left is running the country and the old man who only ran to defeat Donald Trump rides along like a twig on the shoulders of a raging sea.
