According to the latest Gallup survey, race relations have hit a new low, a trend that turned sharply worse during the Obama-Biden administration and has grown under Biden.

Gallup said that 57% believe relations between blacks and whites are "bad," with 42% calling them "good."

There is a 10-point race gap between blacks and whites, with just 33% of blacks calling relations good versus 43% of whites. And Gallup said it "oversampled" blacks in the poll.

Gallup took a shot at explaining why. "The reading has eroded nine percentage points over the past two years as the nation has grappled with the murder of George Floyd and the subsequent nationwide protests and calls for racial justice," said the analysis.

More than his former boss, Biden has made race relations an earlier focus in his administration than former President Obama, who pushed the issue off until his second term. Biden has talked thoughtfully on the issue at ceremonies and is eager to rephrase U.S. Census questions on the issue.

At the same time, the nation has been swept up in the critical race theory controversy.

And while Gallup said that Americans overall are optimistic about race relations, it's "bottom line" noted that blacks are less optimistic.

"As the nation continues to grapple with racial equity, Americans rate the state of black-white relations more negatively now than at any time in over two decades. Overall, however, they believe there is still hope for an eventual solution.

"However, just one-third of black Americans now view race relations positively, and the optimism and hope for a solution to racial discord that existed last year have since dissipated," said Gallup.

"a trend that turned sharply worse during the Obama-Biden administration and has grown under Biden."

Mr. Biden was a good student.

Trump and supports are off topic.

Democrat progressives are divisive dividers.  On every major issue.

All you do is say the opposite of the truth.

If I had to boil it down to one thing, white Americans , lets just say many, are in denial of the racist history of their country, because they want to feel good about themselves but especially they want to feel good about their white ancestors, and America. This denial is in immutable contrast with the intended goals of black and other anti-racist activists who want a resolution to the historical injustices.

It has absolutely nothing to do with Joe Biden.

But you can't erase history. "Intended goals" for those seeking "resolution to historical injustices" is subjective; some intended goals are reasonable, some are simply outrageous. That subjectivity needs some narrowing.

No,  there are so many pieces that add in to this issue that you really can't boil it down to one thing. We have had a year of some of the most horrendous actions and reactions around the country, the pandemic, etc.

And you cannot ignore Joe Biden. He billed himself during the elections as the Great Unifier,  hell even his inauguration speech promised that he would unify the country. And he's done a terrible job of that. His policies have been aimed more at pushing the progressive demands than to unify the country.  You cannot unify the country when your demands are to the opposition to change what they are doing and follow your lead. Politics is supposed to be negotiation.

He billed himself during the elections as the Great Unifier,

Oh please, politicians always bill themselves as the great something or other.  At least he hasnt said there are good people on both sides of an anti-racism protest.

It's depressing how much damage has been done to race relations by the Democratic Party and their allied media over the last 10 years.

Projection, deflection, denial.  The alleged conservatives' trifecta.
