The Candidacy of Kamala Harris
“Have you discussed the Mueller investigation with anyone at Kasowitz Benson Torres, the law firm founded by Marc Kasowitz, President Trump’s personal lawyer?”

We the People

There have already been at least 6 individuals who have announced their candidacy for presidential nominee of the democratic party. I thought it would be a good idea to examine the one the party will most likely nominate. Harris, who holds the proper identity politic credentials chose Martin Luther King Day to make her official announcement. The location would be the place of her birth - Oakland CA, also home to what was known as "the black panthers" and an area synonymous with riots. It has been reported that as many as 20,000 attended. That would be almost unprecedented.
In her announcement speech, Harris briefly mentions her parents, her father of Jamaican ancestry and her mother who came from India, then the junior Senator from CA quickly got to the reasons she had decided to run. “We are here because the American Dream and our American democracy are under attack and on the line like never before” she said.  Then came the assault on the President. “we have leaders who lie and bully and attack a free press and undermine our democratic institutions that’s not our America”. Trump has made more that 8,100 false and misleading statements since taking office, according to fact-checkers at The Washington Post, and has called the press “the enemy of the people”.
We learned further that the wall was "medieval" and unnecessary.

Then, of course, was the urgent matter of racism. “Let’s speak an uncomfortable but honest truth with one another: racism, sexism, anti-Semitism, homophobia, transphobia are real in this country. They are age-old forms of hate with new fuel.”  What would a speech by a democratic candidate for president be without that?  You don't get anywhere with the hard left without claiming that America - specifically "white America is discriminatory!

Ms Harris touched on all the bases. On foreign Policy - we were weak, climate change is real, the economy (according to Harris) "is not working" !

We should give Ms Harris credit for being honest about her positions. We also got to see her in action during the Kavanaugh hearings. So, if we can assume that Senator Harris wins the democratic nomination, as I predict she will, the only question remaining is how she would perform in the general election?

Should we dare compare her candidacy to that of Barak Obama?  Let's try that. Obama always was a superior public speaker, while Harris is not quite in that category. Barak Obama was our first black candidate for the nation's highest office. That fact alone excited many people. That milestone has been passed. Barak Obama like Kamala Harris was somebody who served a term in the US Senate before making a run for President.
That is where the similarities seem to end.
As Senator Barak Obama sponsored legislation, which would be considered bipartisan. He sat on numerous committees and performed well without any dramatics. Ms Harris seems to have been a very vocal progressive since her arrival in the US Senate. Her vicious & derogatory questioning of Bret Kavanaugh (did he talk to Mueller?) is still fresh in the minds of Independents as well as Conservatives. Obama never let us know who he really was until
after he was elected, while Ms Harris is doing so right up front - at least during the democratic primaries. We can expect a much more moderate tone come the general election. Are voters that easily fooled?

There is another factor to be considered. The possible candidacy of Howard Schultz as an independent.  Schultz was a progressive not long ago. Schultz intends to capture the vote between "the two extremes", as he might view it. In the process he will be calling out all the radical insane proposals of both right & left, but mostly left because that's where it's at right now. He has already challenged Ms Harris on her remark about abolishing the insurance companies:

"S en. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., offered a full-throated endorsement of a "Medicare for all" healthcare plan and called for the elimination of all private health insurance in the U.S.

“We need to have Medicare for all,” Harris, a 2020 Democratic presidential contender, said in response to a question on whether she would cut private insurers out of the American healthcare system at a CNN town hall in Iowa Monday night.

When pressed by CNN's Jake Tapper on if those people who enjoy their insurance could keep it, Harris said that it was time to "eliminate" all private health insurance.

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/congress/kamala-harris-calls-for-elimination-of-private-health-insurance

Howard-Schultz-Starbucks.jpg
Howard Schultz - former progressive

"Howard Schultz, the former Starbucks CEO who made waves this weekend after declaring he was   “seriously considering” an independent presidential bid , slammed Sen.   Kamala Harris ’s (D-Calif.) proposal to eliminate private health insurance.

“That’s not correct, that’s not American. What’s next? What industry are we going to abolish next?” he asked Tuesday on “CBS This Morning.”

https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/427420-schultz-calls-harriss-call-to-get-rid-of-health-insurance-industry-not

Schultz will be there to correct the left's grand promises of "Medicaid for all", "health insurance for all" and "education for all" with a straight forward questioning of how do they expect to pay for it?

In the 2020 presidential campaign Ms Harris will have none of the political attributes Barak Obama once had, nor any of the benefit of the doubt he once had and should Mr Schultz run, she will have somebody ask the hard questions the msm refuses to ask.

I agree.  It is going to be very hard for the democrats to overcome the success that this President has had in such a short time. Especially when you take into consideration that the democrats have been in doing absolutely nothing but fight everything the whole time.

The President will have the advantage of proving to be a capable leader - one who achieved Conservative goals which others could not AND the none of the liberal warnings came to pass - no economic collapse, no world war etc.  He will also now have a nationwide organization in place, a large war chest and all the advantages of being the incumbent President.

I don't see him being removed. Do you mean he is in poor health? He certainly has aged in two years and the fast food diet combined with only about 4 hours sleep per night isn't good for a man in his 70's. He is a tough one, isn't he?

Pence doesn't need to be elected if Trump doesn't make it to 2020, Don. In case you haven't heard of it, there's something called the US Constitution. The VP automatically completes the presidential term if necessary, and Trump's first term doesn't end until January 2021. Keep dreaming.

And what will he be removed for?  We both know that it won't be for "Russian Collusion".  That's nothing more than the remnants of the democrat temper tantrum for losing in 2016.  We both also know that if there was something there it would have been leaked already.

I’m dying to see your spin when it happens.  The fact is, the Trump campaign, administration, and Trump himself are so thoroughly corrupt that it would be a mistake to not milk this cow for as long as it will lactate.  Indict everyone that was stupid enough to leave their fingerprints before summing it up with what Mueller undoubtedly already knows about the moron at the top.

Most memorable liberal predictions of 2016 and beyond

If Trump is the Republican nominee, a Republican will not see the White House for a generation.

The electoral college will vote their conscious and vote in Hillary

Trump will not last 6 months

Trump will not last  year.

Trump will not make it to Christmas (2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018...a 4 time fail).

Who is it that has not been correct?

Remember, up until Wisconsin and Pennsylvania were called for Trump, the Liberal talking heads on the Mainstream Media kept up saying that Hillary had a 90% chance to win the election.  And, they held off calling Wisconsin, PA, and Michigan for Trump until after Hillary had told everyone to go home in the early morning hours...

My prediction is that Republicans sweep the majorities of both Houses; but lose some seats in the Senate, and keeps the Presidency with Trump.  If something happens and Trump doesn't run again, and McConnell shows his true colors of being a Moderate Democrat, the House will be Republican and the Senate will become Democrat while the Presidency would be a toss-up depending on whom the Republican nominee is.

A lot can happen between now and then. At least we can appreciate what has been accomplished during the first half of the Trump Presidency. Just think of the restoration of our Judicial system or the strengthening of our recently depleted military.

The 2020 democratic primaries are going to be one fun ride.

There are now 2 black or partial black candidates that have announced their candidacy. Liberals are dusting off their "your a raaaaacccciiisssssst" replies when these candidates' policies are questioned. No matter that the word has no meaning, as seen as being WAY overused during the 8 year regime of Obama.

I predict that if one of those candidates are nominated, they will name the other as their running mate. To liberals, that is the ultimate political ticket.....a half black woman and a, more than likely gay, black man.

They will not be able to do any wrong and anyone who dares criticize them will be denigrated and attacked, especially if you are a straight white male or a black conservative, two of the most hated beings in the liberal mind.

Not really sure how this will play out. You vote against Harris, you are racist and misogynist. You vote against Booker you are racist and homophobic.

Libs really are going to have a hard time calling themselves out for who they truly are and accusing conservatives of being...

Bigots.

about 2000 so-called writers with TDS just got fired from buzzfeed, aol, huffingtonpost, gannett, and others as obamas funding to the leftwing media just expired/dried up like their "opinions"

2 yrs ago, sessions ended tax dollars going to antifa and BLM

the lefts resistance membership, and access to taxpayer dollars is dwindling fast.

by 2020 the left will be irreparably split and but a fraction of it's current self.

Good point!!! And now we learn GM will lay off 4000 people because the free taxpayer funds they received from Obama has dried up and nobody wants their cars.

Of course, this will be looked at as Trump's fault. You can count on it.

It’s no secret why Harris is the only one Trump tweets positively about.  She’s black and a woman, thus she is the opponent that he would have the best chances against based on the history of US politics.  It still wouldn’t help him.  At this point an actual donkey could beat Trump.

Obama had all that, but what he needed to win in 2008, he got = 43% of the white vote. In 2012 he got 39% of the white vote.

That disproves your little insinuation that America is a racist country.  (note the black vote in both elections)
