Senate Democrats Demand Obedience from UN Nominee
"[W]e need assurances that, in connection with U.N. activities related to climate change, you will put our nation’s interests ahead of your personal financial interests”

Such audacity!

Three democratic Senators are now demanding that the president's nominee to the UN conform to progressive dogma on climate change. In a very insulting letter, three liberal Senators, Ed Markey (MA), Jeff Merkley (Ore) and the radical Sheldon Whitehouse (RI) demanded that the nominee gave them assurances that "in connection with U.N. activities related to climate change, you ( nominee Kelly Craft) will put our nation’s interests ahead of your personal financial interests". The letter went on to question the nominee, Kelly Craft, on her beliefs on climate change, whether she agrees with the President'd decision to withdraw from the Paris climate change agreement and, believe it or not, "whether U.S. adherence to international climate agreements would impact her financial interests?"

Just when we thought that dems couldn't degrade the political process any more than they have, they took us to yet another level. At one time we could be assured that every Trump nominee would be asked to contradict the President in some way. Usually, by asking the nominee what they thought of some unusual statement made by the President. Then we were treated to smearing of nominees. Now we reached the point where democratic Senators are asking for an oath of allegiance to their ideology.

The GoP's all-in support of Trump is an exercise in groupthink. Either you're blind or you're being purposely obtuse here. Either way this issue is making mountains out of a political molehill.

Oh really?

Then explain all the sabotage done by Senators John McCain, Jeff Flake and Mitt Romney?

Let's not forget Bill Kristol, George Will, and a whole slew of other Conservatives that are more anti-Trump than Conservative.

EDIT: I posted this before opening the Wikipedia article, thinking it was just about politicians and did not contain names of commentators/journalists.

Whoa! Wait... 3 Dem Senators is evidence of groupthink on the left, but 3 Rep rebels is proof of no groupthink on the right? WTF!??? That's some real pretzel logic.

Whoa! Wait... 3 Dem Senators is evidence of groupthink on the left,

Every democrat voted for Obamacare. They got tossed in the midterms.

Trump’s 91 judges have received more negative confirmation votes than the 2,653 judges confirmed to the same courts during the entire 20th century combined.

Most of the time the 4 liberals on the SCOTUS stick together

They all speak with the same language. Example: How many repeated the words "Constitutional crisis"?

It's groupthink!

Wow!  So if the Democrats don't win the White House they think they can still direct the administration to do as they demand.  Hard to believe.

They also think their House committees have law enforcement powers. Seems like only yesterday that committee subpoenas were ignored and the committees were lied to without any fear of prosecution. Now of course the dems have the House and the Committees have all kinds of power and as usual "rights" don't apply to President Trump.

Indeed. Dems, Nancy Pelosi in particular,  have threatened to jail AG Barr and others in the Trump Administration even though they have no basis for indictments.

Even though the full House hasn't voted on that outrageous contempt citation, Nancy is holding onto it as a threat. Isn't it amazing how they talk about handcuffing people, when Eric Holder, who deserved the contempt citation, simply waved his finger at Congress and walked away.

Where is Holder these days?

In October 2016, Holder announced that he would chair the newly incorporated  National Democratic Redistricting Committee , a group aiming to support Democratic candidates in state races ahead of the redistricting that will follow the  2020 Census .

Congress needs to start looking at themselves and look at why they are the most dysfunctional branch of government we have.

That's the funniest fucking thing I have now heard. Because this "Green Mold" issue is important to Liberal Dems, That's what gets them to want this nation put first ? jrSmiley_10_smiley_image.gif

Unless the nominee has some history of corruption, it seems rude and cowardly to passive-aggressively accuse her of it by demanding she give assurances that she won't be corrupt.
