After 3 days of intense negotiations the US and Mexico have reached an agreement, which will include returning migrants seeking asylum to Mexico.

Mexico will deploy their national guard troops along their southern border, increase actions to dismantle human trafficking operations, and take extra steps to coordinate with the American government to share information. More details are to be released on this developing story.

"I am pleased to inform you that The United States of America has reached a signed agreement with Mexico. The Tariffs scheduled to be implemented by the U.S. on Monday, against Mexico, are hereby indefinitely suspended"....Donald Trump.

It appears that all the US gives up are the proposed tariffs. It's too bad that such desperate measures were necessary, but the US is fortunate to have a President with the guts to take action, despite the obstruction of congress & the courts.

So if this is such a victory, why did Trump get rid of Neilson? She announced the Migrant Protection Protocols just before Christmas of LAST YEAR. Oh and Mexico pledged the National Guard deployment in March, BEFORE Trump's threat of tariffs.

Talk about a hoax.

Really?

Fifth-graders focus on the United States. Students begin with Native Americans, then study the 13 colonies, the American Revolution, the Civil War, and the building of a new nation. Because social studies includes the study of history, geography, economics, and civics, it is often integrated with other areas of the curriculum. For example, students might be expected to recreate a colonial-era newspaper for a language arts assignment, while a science lesson might focus on how Native Americans grew corn. Students learn to explore cause-and-effect relationships; compare past and present events; and make and use timelines, graphs, charts, and maps to interpret historical data. Technology is often integrated, as students use the Internet to facilitate their learning.

This curriculum is very similar to what I learned in 5th grade over 50 years ago and what my children learned in the 1990s.

Maybe children learn about ancient Rome in Kindergarten?  jrSmiley_7_smiley_image.png

...The Trump administration has forged a historic agreement with Mexico to stem the tide of illegal immigration thru Mexico and into the United States.

“I am pleased to inform you that The United States of America has reached a signed agreement with Mexico,” the president tweeted Friday evening. “The Tariffs scheduled to be implemented by the U.S. on Monday, against Mexico, are hereby indefinitely suspended. Mexico, in turn, has agreed to take strong measures to stem the tide of Migration through Mexico, and to our Southern Border. This is being done to greatly reduce, or eliminate, Illegal Immigration coming from Mexico and into the United States.”

“Details of the agreement will be released shortly by the State Department,” he added.

Unable to get Congressional Democrats to authorize any border protection, asylum, or immigration reform measures, the president informed Mexico that if it won’t prevent Central America migrants from crossing its country into the USA, the U.S. would have to place tariffs on goods crossing into America.

Mexico flew top bureaucrats to Washington, D.C. for a series of talks aimed at controlling illegal immigration and forestalling the tariffs. Those talks produced an agreement that will achieve what Congressional Democrats have refused to address – securing the border.

While details have not yet been released, it is widely expected that Mexico will implement stronger border security on their southern border and implement a true third country asylum policy that would have Central Americans seeking asylum do so in Mexico as it is the first safe country outside of their own....https://www.conservativedailynews.com/2019/06/trump-forges-agreement-with-mexico-to-stem-illegal-immigration-postpone-tariffs/

Is there not a Immigration crisis on our southern border?

Has congress failed to do anything about it?

Are the TDS suffers going to cry about it because Trump addressed it and no one else had the balls to?

Indeed, because the phrase was allegedly used by the Roman poet Juvenal and not by Nero and Caligula.

Here is another link. I will even give the good parts.

However, as part of that deal, it appears the U.S. did not get Mexico to agree to a "safe third country" agreement where asylum seekers would be granted asylum in Mexico and unable to claim asylum in the U.S. Instead, the administration says it will expand its policy of deporting asylum seekers to Mexico to await adjudication of their cases. Mexico will accept those people and offer them services like health care and education.

And just to show the left for moronic assholes that care more about illegals than us.

That policy is currently being contested in federal court, although the Ninth Circuit ruled that the administration could implement as a final determination is reached.

Mexico is sending more security to the border as well.

In response, Mexico agreed to strengthen its border security -- a nod to the 6,000 Border Guard officers that nation announced Thursday -- and to take "decisive action to dismantle human smuggling and trafficking organizations as well as their illicit financial and transportation networks."

Trump just did more to secure the border than all of the pieces of shit in Congress. I now expect Trump to continue to follow through and hold Mexico responsible for carrying out their side of the deal. As for McConnell, Pelosi, Schumer, and the rest of the worthless scumbags in Congress, they need to get off their asses and do something for a change. Pelosi had grand ideas for border security, and port of entry security; but didn't put one damn penny in the budget for it. She needs to get a bill going pronto; unless she is just a worthless lying politician that was trying to score political points instead of fixing the problem. McConnell needs to shut the fuck up and stop undermining Trump's negotiating position.  Trump is not a true Republican; but Mitch needs to get over it.

I can't stand Trump- I can't stop repeating that enough; but in this instance I will give him the nod for the accomplishment.

From the joint US/Mexico Declaration on Immigration

“As a result of these discussions, the United States and Mexico commit to:

Mexican Enforcement Surge

Mexico will take unprecedented steps to increase enforcement to curb irregular migration, to include the deployment of its National Guard throughout Mexico, giving priority to its southern border. Mexico is also taking decisive action to dismantle human smuggling and trafficking organizations as well as their illicit financial and transportation networks. Additionally, the United States and Mexico commit to strengthen bilateral cooperation, including information sharing and coordinated actions to better protect and secure our common border.

Migrant Protection Protocols

The United States will immediately expand the implementation of the existing Migrant Protection Protocols across its entire Southern Border. This means that those crossing the U.S. Southern Border to seek asylum will be rapidly returned to Mexico where they may await the adjudication of their asylum claims.

In response, Mexico will authorize the entrance of all of those individuals for humanitarian reasons, in compliance with its international obligations, while they await the adjudication of their asylum claims. Mexico will also offer jobs, healthcare and education according to its principles.

The United States commits to work to accelerate the adjudication of asylum claims and to conclude removal proceedings as expeditiously as possible.

Further Actions

Both parties also agree that, in the event the measures adopted do not have the expected results, they will take further actions. Therefore, the United States and Mexico will continue their discussions on the terms of additional understandings to address irregular migrant flows and asylum issues, to be completed and announced within 90 days, if necessary.”

"The Trump administration had previously pushed for Mexico to accept a so-called “safe third country” agreement, under which Central Americans traveling north through its territory would be eligible to apply for asylum in Mexico, but not the United States.

Ebrard on Tuesday told reporters that U.S. officials had not brought up the proposal, which they knew to be a red line for Mexico, but a version of the safe third country agreement eventually became a central part of negotiations.

The deal nonetheless represents a sweeping expansion of the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP) program, also known as “remain in Mexico,” whereby Central American migrants who claim asylum in the United States are returned to Mexico while their asylum cases are heard in U.S. immigration courts."

The U.S. State Department announced Friday night that Mexico would be deploying its National Guard troops throughout its country to curb illegal immigration as part of the deal President Donald Trump boasted about after threatening Mexico with a controversial 5% tariff.

However, according to a New York Times report on Saturday, Mexico had already agreed to deploy troops months before Trump threatened the country with tariffs.

Oh wait, it would have been except Obama sent US forces back into Iraq- after Bush signed a SOFA for their removal. So Bush did accomplish his mission; Obama chose to restart Iraq. Of course Obama, and now Trump, are supporting a government loyal to Iran in Iraq. You can't make this shit up.

Don't worry- some of us are smart enough to blame Bush Jr, Obama, and now Trump for keeping troops in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria.  Our foreign policy is stuck on stupid; at least some of us are willing to admit it.

As for Trump's deal with Mexico. Outside of little Chucky Schumer, I have seen no one state this solves the border problem.  This is just the first step in negotiations; which is more than past presidents have accomplished. Trump will need to keep the pressure on Mexico to make sure they follow through.

I heard Nancy Pelosi has grand ideas for fixing immigration and smuggling problems at ports of entry. Time for her to get off her ass and get that bill done.

The fact is: We all agree we need to secure our borders, while honoring our values: we can build the infrastructure and roads at our ports of entry; we can install new technology to scan cars and trucks for drugs coming into our nation; we can hire the personnel we need to facilitate trade and immigration at the border; we can fund more innovation to detect unauthorized crossings.

It is time for Congress to put our money where their mouth's have been. Of course anything that will benefit the US as a whole they are completely against. Nancy and little Chucky are all talk, no action. If Trump stated he would sign Pelosi's bill she and little Chucky would be soundly against it.  Claiming, "There is no problem, and it is a waste of US taxpayer monery." All just smoke and mirrors, a game Trump like to plays to make it look like he plays hard ball with our allies. And of course, his sheeple buys it lock stock and barrel and no questions asked.

The fact is, Mexico agreed to take border actions months before Trump announced threatened tariffs against Mexico. Some people will swallow anything they are fed about Trump.

WASHINGTON — The deal to avert tariffs that President Trump announced with great fanfare on Friday night consists largely of actions that Mexico had already promised to take in prior discussions with the United States over the past several months, according to officials from both countries who are familiar with the negotiations. Friday’s joint declaration says Mexico agreed to the “deployment of its National Guard throughout Mexico, giving priority to its southern border.” But the Mexican government had already pledged to do that in March during secret talks in Miami between Kirstjen Nielsen, then the secretary of homeland security, and Olga Sanchez, the Mexican secretary of the interior, the officials said.

BS, and more BS. Mexico said they would do this in March, and it is now June. Why aren't the troops already deployed? Politicians saying they will do something is one thing. Getting them to do it is another. Are you saying it takes 4 plus months; because they aren't even started yet, to get troops ready and deployed. I know Mexico's military sucks, but come on.

The centerpiece of Mr. Trump’s deal was an expansion of a program to allow asylum-seekers to remain in Mexico while their legal cases proceed. But that arrangement was first reached in December in a pair of painstakingly negotiated diplomatic notes that the two countries exchanged. Ms. Nielsen announced the Migrant Protection Protocols during a hearing of the House Judiciary Committee five days before Christmas.

Love the BS.  Now it is something before Christmas that Mexico still hasn't enacted.

And over the past week, negotiators failed to persuade Mexico to accept a “safe third country” treaty that would have given the United States the legal ability to reject asylum seekers if they had not sought refuge in Mexico first.

Negotiations are still ongoing. So Trump didn't get the last part done. He is getting Mexico to act now; instead of sitting around and doing nothing. Much like our worthless Congress.

Love the way the left believes anything anti Trump that comes out of someone pie hole. Facts be damn. Talk is better than action in leftist land.

Vic, it would seem that you forgot to include the second part of Trump's tweet.

I am pleased to inform you that The United States of America has reached a signed agreement with Mexico. The Tariffs scheduled to be implemented by the U.S. on Monday, against Mexico, are hereby indefinitely suspended. Mexico, in turn, has agreed to take strong measures to...

..stem the tide of Migration through Mexico, and to our Southern Border. This is being done to greatly reduce, or eliminate, Illegal Immigration coming from Mexico and into the United States.

Great news!  Since the problems will be greatly reduced or eliminated, we don't need a $20,000,000,000 wall.
