Navy SEAL Edward Gallagher found not guilty on murder and attempted murder charges
Some members of SEAL Team 7 brought forth allegations against Gallagher and were initially interviewed by NCIS last year. But when two specific members of the team were again interviewed by NCIS in January, they were essentially “ordered” to give testimony, and key statements that might benefit Gallagher were completely left out of the subsequent reports; notably, the reports allegedly do not include video of the interview, but rather a summary, Task and Purpose reported.

A jury found decorated Navy SEAL Edward "Eddie" Gallagher not guilty Tuesday on almost all charges he was facing, including murder and attempted murder, in the killing of an Islamic State member in Iraq.

Case closed.

And BTW,  the individual who confessed has immunity.

Sure, Special Operator First Class Corey Scott was granted immunity in exchange for his truthful testimony. As long as he hasn't committed perjury he is immune from prosecution.

(Scott testified he killed the young ISIS captive by blocking his breathing tube with his thumb.)

Predictable outcome.

A seven-man jury found Navy SEAL Edward “Eddie” Gallagher not guilty, Tuesday, July 2 for the premeditated murder of a teen ISIS fighter, as well as five other war crimes he was accused of committing during a 2017 deployment to Iraq.

Gallagher could have served a maximum of four months for posing with the body of the corpse, but due to 201 days time served, he is walking free Tuesday following about less than hours of jury deliberation.

...

No body, no forensics, no science and no case,” Tim Parlatore, Gallagher’s lead attorney, told the jury on Monday just before they headed for deliberations in a courtroom on the Navy base. “They want you to rely on testimony from the ‘sewing circle’ (a self-described group of six SEALS who have accused Gallagher of the murder and shootings).
