House Hearing Devolves into Chaos
Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, said “this body has failed to secure the border and created the very magnet that is causing these migrants to come through and be abused by cartels while this body sits cowardly in the corner doing nothing about it.”

Yesterday was a low point in the history of the US Congress. The House Oversight Committee hearing on child separation (Not the open border crisis!) devolved into grandstanding, dramatics and shouting matches. Among those giving testimony were some of the freshmen members of the House. Most notably was leading ignoramus Alexandria Octavio-Cortez. Se demanded to be sworn in even though Chairman Cummings told her that it wasn't normally done, but then Cummings played along and said"stand up" and swore her in.

Three of the radical four

Then Ms Cortez began her tirade against the President and everyone working to keep American citizens safe.

She went on:

“This is a manufactured crisis because the cruelty is manufactured.”

"It is a policy of dehumanization implemented by this executive administration made at the feet of Stephen Miller that creates a tinderbox of violence and dehumanization where hurt people hurt people," she said.

Then we heard from the other radical Rep. Rashida Tlaib, who shed tears for the aliens she encountered on the recent trip the group made to the border.

“No one is illegal. That term is derogatory because it dehumanizes people. You can say any other forms of coming in without regulations or so forth but the use of illegal is disrespectful and I ask my colleagues to try in so many ways not to dehumanize our immigrant neighbors who are trying to come in for a safe haven.”

Republicans were quick to denounce Ms Cortez recent lies about detainees having to drink from toilet water and reminded House democrats that they recently voted against to a bill granting funding for humanitarian aid at the border, which passed last month despite the radical 4 voting against it.

The best part of the hearing as when former ICE Director Tom Homan fired back at Rep. Jesus Garcia!

Tom Homan

"First of all, your comments are disgusting. I’ve served my country for 34 years. This is out of control,” Homan shot back. “Yes, I held a 5-year-old boy in my arms that was in the back of a tractor-trailer and knelt down beside him and said a prayer for him because I knew what the last 30 minutes of his life were like and I had a 5-year-old son at the time.”

Homan continued, “What I’ve been doing in my 34 years serving my nation is to save lives…you're the member of Congress. Fix it.”

I could of listened to him all day.

Well done Tom!

It only took about 2 sentences for your article to devolve into a name calling tirade against elected members of Congress who are doing their jobs.

The do nothing dems urge these migrants to come here, being sure to bring their kids with them, then do nothing about fixing the problems or providing funding.

Pelosi, AOC, and even Hillary Clinton published warning advisories to illegal aliens about the upcoming ICE raids. I suppose they're "just doing their jobs" when they help illegal aliens to CONTINUE violating US laws.

Showboating for the TDS sufferers is not doing their job. The same ones grandstanding at the hearing are the same ones who voted against funding.

The majority there are not doing their jobs unless you consider demagoguery to be a part of their jobs.  In that case they get an A+

"Rashida Tlaib, who shed tears for the aliens"?   On second thought, maybe she should try to stop the mob from invading Area 51.

These Illegal Aliens are determined-- a simple wall will not stop them!

An ounce of that empathy directed to Americans would be a shock.

For a "law maker" tearful Tlaib is extremely stupid.

The term “alien” means any person not a citizen or national of the United States.
—United States Code, Title 8, §1101(a)(3)

An illegal alien…is any alien (1) whose most recent entry into the United States was without inspection, or (2) whose most recent admission to the United States was as a nonimmigrant and—(A) whose period of authorized stay as a nonimmigrant expired, or (B) whose unlawful status was known to the Government, before the date of the commission of the crime for which the alien is convicted.
—United States Code, Title 8, §1365(b)

Homan continued, “What I’ve been doing in my 34 years serving my nation is to save lives…you're the member of Congress. Fix it.”

While I do not know whether or not his 34 years of service was devoted to saving lives, he is absolutely correct in regards to whom has the ability to reform immigration. As they have had more than forty years to address the broken system, I expect to be worm food should it ever be corrected.

No one is illegal. That term is derogatory because it dehumanizes people.

Well if one is here illegally, derogatory or not ( although I really do not see how that can be seen as dehumanizing, unlike the treatment of those now being held at the border which is ).

It seems that Mr. Homan has dedicated even more than 34 years to saving lives:

Career

Homan is from northern New York state. He holds an associate degree in criminal justice from   Jefferson Community College   and a bachelor's degree from   SUNY Polytechnic Institute . [3]   He served as a police officer in West Carthage, New York before joining what was then called the U.S.   Immigration and Naturalization Service   in 1986. He served as a   border patrol   agent, an investigator, and a supervisor before being named to the executive associate director position in 2013. [4]   In 2015, he was given a   Presidential Rank Award   as a Distinguished Executive. A   Washington Post   article at the time stated, "Thomas Homan deports people. And he's really good at it." The Dems were more worried about "Sounding" caring, than to provide actions that "WOULD ACTUALLY BE CARING" !

The hearing was just another Democrat political circus with Elijah Cummings as the circus master with  AOC and Tlaib as his assistants:

Most notably was leading ignoramus Alexandria Octavio-Cortez. Se demanded to be sworn in even though Chairman Cummings told her that it wasn't normally done, but then Cummings played along and said"stand up" and swore her in.

Typical of Congressional Democrats.  Help create the problem and then blame others for it.  If they had listened to the Border Patrol months ago about needing additional funding the situation at the border would not be as bad.  But no, now they have their dog and pony show and claim they care about the "children".  These people are disgusting to say the least.

If they had done what they promised Reagan in 1986, this would be an entirely different ballgame.

"Tom Homan, the former acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), appeared on “Fox & Friends Weekend” on Saturday  to discuss his clashes  with congressional lawmakers at the end of this week  — and he essentially let it rip.

He shared his reaction to the questioning he faced about   illegal immigrant crossings into this country   at the southern border — and the resulting family separations when unlawful aliens try coming into the U.S. with minors.

“It was quite pathetic that I’m sitting there in a room of lawmakers that don’t know the law,” he said. “I mean, yeah, you had [Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.)], [and] she obviously didn’t know — You know, I had to take her to school. Entering the country illegally is a crime, which she obviously didn’t understand.”

“The other congressman,” he added, “[Rep. Rashida] Tlaib [of Michigan] — she didn’t want to use the word ‘illegal alien.’ I had to explain to her, well, it’s [the] Indian Immigration Nationality Act. You know, it’s in Title VIII United States code. These are laws enacted by Congress. So if you don’t know the law — I mean, I’m sitting in a room full of lawmakers. They don’t know the subject. I forgot more about this issue more than anybody there would ever know.”

“And it was just really sad and pathetic,” Homan also said, “that these people … think they know what they’re talking about and they don’t. Again, it’s all [about the Democrats] pushing a false narrative and, ‘Let’s try our hardest to stay away from the facts.’”

He also commented on the protests by Democratic lawmakers against   the expected ICE raids this Sunday .

“When they don’t like a decision that comes from a federal judge, all of a sudden they throw the law out the window. You’ve got representatives in Congress, lawmakers, telling people to evade the law. It’s disgusting. I mean, can’t [House Speaker] Nancy Pelosi be impeached for that? You can’t tell the American people to ignore the law.”
