Hollywood Film Depicts Trump Supporters Being Hunted for Sport by Liberals
Kathy Griffin claims she can’t get work following her photoshoot with a decapitated and bloody Trump head, but don’t let that fool you. Hollywood clearly still likes the idea of promoting violence against people who aren’t good and obedient leftists, because Universal Pictures is set to release a thriller called The Hunt on September 27, which features left-wing “elites” hunting Trump supporters for sport.
In the past few days we’ve been hearing a lot about how Donald Trump’s rhetoric is apparently to blame for the El Paso shooting, yet Hollywood apparently lacked the foresight to think that a movie promoting violence against “deplorables” might be in bad taste until after the shootings in El Paso and Dayton, as only now is Universal rethinking their promotional strategy for the film .
"Did anyone see what our ratf**ker-in-chief just did?" one character asks early in the screenplay for The Hunt, a Universal Pictures thriller set to open Sept. 27. Another responds: "At least The Hunt's coming up. Nothing better than going out to the Manor and slaughtering a dozen deplorables."
In the aftermath of mass shootings within days of one another that shocked and traumatized the nation, Universal is re-evaluating its strategy for the certain-to-be-controversial satire. The violent, R-rated film from producer Jason Blum's Blumhouse follows a dozen MAGA types who wake up in a clearing and realize they are being stalked for sport by elite liberals.
Over the Aug. 3 weekend, ESPN pulled an ad for the film that it had previously cleared, while AMC ran the spot during the season premiere of its drama The Preacher. It's unclear whether the ads were identical, but the one yanked by ESPN opened with a sound resembling an emergency broadcast signal. A rep for ESPN parent Disney declined to comment on the move, but an ESPN source says no spots for the film will appear on the network in the coming weeks.
According to THR , the movie “features guns blazing along with other ultra-violent killings as the elites pick off their prey.”
You can watch the trailer for The Hunt here:
The original title for the film was Red State Vs. Blue State, so the political themes of the movie are clearly important to the plot. THR says that The Hunt “made some executives at Universal skittish back in May 2018, when film chief Donna Langley acquired the script and fast-tracked it at a modest $18 million budget,” but several studios “did not pursue it because of the explosive premise.” One studio executive reportedly didn’t even bother reading the script because "The idea seemed crazy." The movie was produced by Jason Blum, who also produced other well-known horror flicks like The Purge, Paranormal Activity, and Get Out.
The script for The Hunt features the red-state characters wearing trucker hats and cowboy shirts, with one bragging about owning seven guns because it's his constitutional right. The blue-state characters — some equally adept with firearms — explain that they picked their targets because they expressed anti-choice positions or used the N-word on Twitter. "War is war," says one character after shoving a stiletto heel through the eye of a denim-clad hillbilly.
How exactly did anyone think this was a good idea even before the El Paso and Dayton shootings? In June 2017, a Bernie Sanders supporter and left-wing activist shot at Republican members of Congress who were practicing for the annual Congressional Baseball Game for charity. The shooter had specifically inquired as to whether the team practicing was made of Republicans or Democrats. The same year, Senator Rand Paul was assaulted by his own neighbor and just this past week had part of his lung surgically removed because of injuries sustained in that attack. Apparently, some in Hollywood are more than willing to promote violence against Trump supporters. Meanwhile, Democrats and liberals in the media want us to believe that it's Trump’s rhetoric that needs to be toned down.

meh, I think it would have worked better as a comedy.
Nowhere in the trailer does it mention Trump or his deplorables. It does say the hunters are super rich big game hunters. Donnie Jr. comes to mind there. This is what happens when you have violent video games and trans people.
And pot smokers.
Spoiler alert.
The underdogs always win...
The mega movie trio of the Hunger Games was exactly the same story, same plot, same result.
The elite versus the commoner.
In Hollywood, the underdogs always win.
No surprise here, just faux outrage by a few high strung people easily offended by labels.
Is that Emma Roberts from "We're the Millers?" LMAO!
They are finally making money off hate!
Probably one of the few comedies in recent memory that actually was funny.
Yup, one of my favorites, raunchy as it was.
Meh, more liberal "white collar" Hollywood fantasy.
Most of those dingle-berries wouldn't last five minutes in a real situation like that on their own.
It’s like a secular progressive fantasy come true as to what they really want to do to us if only they could.
Yeah well, i don't think most of them really feel that way, in fact i know they don't. Only the most extreme moon-bats really might.
So it's SOSDD for Hollyweird.
More paranoia there.
What makes you think you're even a blip on our radar?
So you are a secular progressive now? Or are you just projecting?
It's a movie, big deal. Hard to believe people would actually be butthurt over it. Talk about overly emotional.
More Hollywood trash...
Just in time for Holloween
Just imagine what that money could have been used for........
If people chose to boycott that asshole's practice - oh well, he doesn't have a right to force people to use his services. Trophy hunters are scum. Not to mention it took the asshole over 10 hours to kill the lion after he first wounded it - he's a subhuman. Then he hid the tracking collar. It wasn't his first illegal hunt, either.
Sorry to see you stick up for that scumbag, but that's your right. I don't approve of the death threats, but it's a shame the dentist didn't suffer any repercussions and is happily continuing to trophy hunt.
The Rump's sons (at least Don Scum, Jr.) is a trophy hunter also. All trophy hunters are scum. Killing endangered animals for 'sport'. Killing any animal for 'sport' is deplorable.
I agree with you regarding the death threats, not right. Trophy hunters are pure scum, plain and simple.
'Everybody witnessed the fanatical reaction to a dentist hunting a lion. Because the left felt the need/right to react, it was okay to destroy his property and livelihood - cuz they felt like it.'
Any decent human being would oppose what this scumbag did. If they destroyed his property, that's a no no and the death threats. But like katrix said, no one is forced to support this scumbag.
Also, what does that have to do with the subject at hand?
Something along those lines has been covertly suggested even here by some in the recent past.
I totally agree, I just find that the right being outraged by this reeks of hypocrisy given that they claim to be in favor of, "non-pc".
Please do expand on your victim complex please.
After all, so many of their fantasies haven't come true! The President is still in office, Mitch McConnell is still the Master of the Senate and they lost the Court. Let's let them have their bloody little fantasy. At least they won't be screaming at the sky, breaking windows or kicking a cat.
The 2016 election!
I seriously doubt I'll catch this movie in the theatres (maybe way down the road when it comes out on TV and there's nothing else on) I just find the whole concept of humans hunting humans to be so overdone. There have been tv shows about it (hell even a Simpsons episode), many books, human history etc. Like a story about a mass shooting it just can't hold my interest anymore.
I doubt it even makes it to theaters now , might go direct to DVD or the streaming services like happens to a lot of films now.
with a modest billion dollar budget anyone want to bet this is a flop?
agreed, I don't see this going anywhere.
This should "Calm" things down in this country.
Nah, it's Trumps fault this film got made so all the bad that happens is still his fault.
Absolutely!
For sure.
You're the one that brought the 'president' into this.
Actually the movie did that.
Do you think all movies are real, or just this one?
They ALL must be.
But I'm just a NUT after all !
Poor triggered little snowflake. Do you need a comfort puppy? Did you go scream at the sky? Perhaps your safe space is in order.
I wonder if this was an attempt to be the reverse 'Deliverance'. Looks like a piece of garbage either way, and far less believable. Are we sure these producers aren't the Koch brothers or some other conservative group desperate for anything that makes them look like the victims?
Well, of COURSE that must be it.
SMH
Just asking, because it seems a little far fetched that the anti-assault rifle knitted pink pussy-hat wearing liberals would really be the ones behind such an obvious attempt at rabble rousing.
Yeah, probably not the same as the Hollywood liberals that would have the funds and knowledge to make a movie.
I think the ones you described are probably too busy screaming at the sky or other such nonsense.
Wouldn't they be better described as "Hollywood capitalists with no shame trying to capitalize on the current political division in America?". As many have said before, there's no such thing as bad press. This film likely wouldn't have even been a blip on most Americans radar had it not been amplified by those who are imagining themselves as the victim's screaming about it.
And if the producers and people who paid for the movie didn't think that the people who are close to the politics of the hunters wouldn't pay to go see it, then you might not understand capitalism as well as you think.
No one is worried about some anti-gin, pink-pussy-wearing-hat loons screeching at the sky. They are basket cases and can be easily ignored.
The same can't be said for people with money and means to influence.
Good point, many on the right love to play the victim....Our own POTUS does it constantly, (and usually at the same time, he is attacking someone).
But I thought the liberals were all lazy welfare queens living in their mom's basements? Now all the sudden they are rich elites? Always fun to watch that narrative change to fit an agenda...
Yet here you are, debating...er, whatever. Looks like they certainly got your attention.
Sure they did--just like a wreck garners attention for a short time.
They are no serious threat to anyone because largely they have slithered back to their parents' basements by now.
Turns out screaming at the sky doesn't produce any results.
Obviously you have received bad information. Perhaps you should do a little research all on your own so you can stop believing in such inane theories.
Since I haven't made any such claims, and you obviously did believe they were all lazy welfare queens, I can see how YOU would believe it.
If I have "changed my narrative", please go right ahead and quote me doing what you claim.
Should I wait now, or come back in a few days to see if you provide proof for what you claim.
And if you use that trite "I didn't say YOU said it" bullshit on me, be aware I don't play that crap.
If you don't intend it for me, then don't say it to me.
...“The Hollywood Reporter reported on Tuesday that the “violent, R-rated film from producer Jason Blum's Blumhouse follows a dozen MAGA types who wake up in a clearing and realize they are being stalked for sport by elite liberals.”

According to the Hollywood trade publication, characters in the film refer to the victims as “deplorables,” which is what Hillary Clinton infamously dubbed Trump supporters during the 2016 election.
The report also noted that a character asks, "Did anyone see what our ratf--ker-in-chief just did?"
Multiple NBC Universal executives, including CEO Brian Roberts, did not immediately respond when asked for comment by Fox News.
The movie has caused outrage, with conservatives calling it everything from “political violence” to “sick murder fantasies about right-wingers.”” https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/nbc-universal-pictures-the-hunt-release-backlash
Ah yes let’s trot out the old attack the author source or seeder routine to avoid actually discussing the issue covered by the seeded article.
Yea, that was pretty funny watching the "NON-PC!!!!!!" crowd crying like a bunch of babies over a photoshopped picture. Apparently that non-pc shit only applies in one direction.
I have no problem with what she did. I also have no problem with those making sure she never works again.
What ever happened to the left's 'words have consequences?"
Or does that only apply when someone on the right does something?
Any fool with money can hire that bitch Griffin whenever they want. Not a thing in the world stopping them but themselves.
I never thought she was funny even before hand , her style of comedy wasn't something I would pay to go see. Kinda like the dude that played Kramer on seinfeld , he just wasn't funny to me so wouldn't pay to go see him.
She couldn't get work before then either! Funny she's not!
I never much cared for her to be honest...
Me either.
I don't think this is funny or entertaining.
But I think the article has gotten this wrong. It's the "Elites" that are the bad guys. At least that is how I am looking at the preview.
In any case, hunting people for sport no matter their politics is pretty sick. Not wasting my money or time on this garbage.
We've seen movies where the "Elites" hunt humans many times. 'The Most Dangerous Game', 'A Game of Death', 'Bloodlust', 'The 10th Victim', 'The Naked Prey', 'The Woman Hunt', 'Turkey Shoot', 'Deadly Prey', 'Death Ring', 'Surviving the Game', 'Hard target' and many more TV series and more recent films, so this genre is not new. This is just another modern revision trying to capitalize on the political divisions sown by this feckless President.
Don't forget all The Purge movies and The Purge tv series.
Also Gilligans Island had an episode where a big game hunter was hunting Gilligan
I can think of many movies and TV shows where the plot involved humans hunting humans which usually involved old rich powerful men abusing poor or oppressed people as hunting prey though I do remember one where beautiful young woman were the unlucky prey animals. The premise certainly is nothing new. This is just another rightwing "Outrage Of The Day". The fact that the actual premise is not what they claim does not matter to righties. Maintaining their perpetual state of false outrage is all that matters to them especially if it fits their political agenda...
The Hunger Games is exactly the same thing, same plot, same result.
The underdogs always win in Hollywood.
Otherwise, what's the point?
The premise for hunger games is very different. There the state coerces the oppressed to hunt each other as punishment for a past repressed revolt. That was pure dystopian fare. This one has a group of elite super rich bi coastal urban liberals hunting conservatives as their prey for their entertainment, and is some sort of conspiracy not involving government since they do this story while Trump is still President. It’s one way of targeting Trump supporters to punish them for inflicting Trump upon them and not letting him become normalized.
Some believe the Zodiac killer was influenced by a similar movie - "The most dangerous Game." He supposedly made a subtle reference to it in one of his letters.
So, Ya Perrie, I agree, it is pretty sick.
I think you are right Perrie, if we just go by the trailer it seems to be trying to show the "deplorables" in the story as the good guys, and the "elites" as the bad guys.
Its not surprising, as that is the way it usual is in Hollywood movies. If the story depended on sympathy for rich pricks the theaters would be understandably empty.
I think that this movie is supposed to be a dark satire. I think it is meant to satirize both the elites and the deplorables. And think it will be a bomb. Miscalculation by out of touch Hollywood producers.
Many of the liberal Hollywood elite are out of touch with reality.
Right!? Like Eastwood, Heston, Ventura, Raegan....too many of those "Liberal Elites" to list so have a look for yourself.
Well, looky there!
You managed to prove what no one has denied--that there ARE some Republicans in Hollywood!
Well done!!
Anything else you want to prove that most people would already know and not dispute?
Sometimes that is all that is left for t hem to do.
Dark? Sure. As to the satire, I still don’t see it.
So who is still alive in the end?
Betty Gilpin aka Crystal. The attractive woman with the attitude ( from Mississippi) in the movie trailer who is killing all of the elites...
"Let them eat cake." Marie Antoinette.
Read your history.

So, the liberals are portrayed as the good guys here?
I don't think they are.
I think some are missing the sick joke, and mistakenly (as usual) playing the victims.
Yep, Democrats are the party of the "affluent" white Liberal elite ..... virtually all of Hollywood ..... white entrepreneurs like Bezos and Zuckerberg .... politicians like the Clintons, Feinstein, Warner and Blumenthal and guys like Buffett who earned much of his fortune sucking off the public teat via railroad subsidies and Federal handouts to his many other industries. Yep, uber rich Dems, one and all.
But the worker drones continue to do what they are told by the rich keepers of the hive. They are programmed well by their rich bee keepers.
So, Hollywood liberals are making movies that vilify...themselves?
Ok.
Ah, the hive. I was waiting for that.
They make what they think will sell so yeah. If they think people will go to see it, they'll make it.
It's nice to have such a dedicated following.
Thx, you're the best!
Sounds very capitalistic to me. Not generally a trait associated with libs.
Looks like you have a fan club!
Yep, pretty hypocritical eh?
Always with a couple here. They follow me around voting up comments that disagree with mine.
It's pretty hilarious!
You'll know you have finally arrived when you start getting private messages from them!
BTDT with two or three of them.
They really love me .... they just haven't figure that out yet .....
Depends on what their actual views are, as opposed to views attributed to them. Like this movie, for instance.
Is that a confession that liberals truly are not capitalists?
Are you privy to the political views of the film's makers?
Do you think that this movie paints liberals as the good guys, or is this seed yet another example of your attempts to paint conservatives as perpetual victims and liberals as perpetual villains?
It no longer matters. The film studio just now announced they are canceling the release of that movie.
I'm glad. Never been a fan of hyperviolent movies, myself.
But I also notice you didn't answer the question
I guess I’ll have to get a bootleg copy of the movie and find out. Regardless, Hollywood typically paints conservatives and Christians as villains and secular progressives as perpetual heroes.
It beats having movie theaters around the country where people are openly rooting for and cheering for opposing sides through out the movie. Now it will likely only be seen in people’s own homes via Netflix or Red Box.
....“It should shock us that some liberals want us dead. That’s the Left in 2020. We’ll deal with it by re-electing Trump. I don’t mean to channel Obama’s ‘don’t boo, vote’ mantra on this but let’s get a grip. We’re American and not China because we can produce and release anything we want. It’s free expression and this film should remind us to do one thing next year: Vote Republican.”.....https://townhall.com/tipsheet/mattvespa/2019/08/11/the-hunt-is-over-universal-pulls-movie-about-rich-liberals-hunting-trump-supporters-after-backlash-n2551478
Still conservatives playing victim.
We will never be the victims of progressives. Trump/Pence 2020! Keep America Great!
No, you just play them on TV.
Badly.
I am a 2020 Trump supporter in real life. I live in a part of Ca where I have nothing to fear from progressives in retribution for that support. I’m a Trump donor too but nowhere near a max donor so I don’t expect to be doxxed for it. I stay under the threshold for reporting after what happened to prop. 8 donors in this state.
Ya don't say.
And that's true of pretty much anywhere, no matter how much you try to convince us and yourself otherwise.
Really? And if I went to a Trump rally or a campus reform event in the Bay Area on the way out I’d feel as if I were in the movie the seed is about. Like I said to someone else on another seed, you’d be a lot more safe here than I would be in a different urban area instate along the coast, each openly expressing what we believe.
You'd be fairly safe there, just as I'm fairly safe in my bright red county.
Most people, right or left, don't go around physically attacking people over their politics.
But some are intent on vilifying the other side.
There aren’t a lot of bright red counties left in California outside of the Central Valley and the mountain foothills. The Jefferson footprint places.
I agree that most don’t but the some that do are becoming more aggressive about it. One can let loose on a keyboard at a place like this or Facebook or twitter without resorting to violent physical attacks. There is no excuse for resorting to aggressive physical violence against other people over differences of partisan or ideological political belief.
A neighboring county's Democratic Party office was vandalized a few years ago. When Walmart stopped selling Confederate flags, impromptu "redneck rallies" consisting of guys amassing in the parking lot who can't tell the difference between "a flag is banned by the liberal government" and "we're just not selling that flag" necessitated police presence. Instead of immediately and perpetually claiming victim status, I rolled my eyes and went on with my life.
You might try it.
