CNN Hires Andrew McCabe As A Contributor

CNN is bringing on former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe as a contributor, the network announced Friday morning.

CNN senior media reporter   Oliver Darcy   announced the move on his Twitter account.
In addition to his nearly two years as deputy director, McCabe briefly served as the agency’s acting director following the firing of  former FBI Director James Comey.

McCabe rose to international fame late in his tenure as deputy director, most notably for his clashes with the Trump administration. McCabe’s wife was a Democratic candidate for Virginia state senate in 2015, and his tenure   was marred   with accusations of political bias, especially concerning the agency’s handling of the initial stages of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

President Donald Trump   even accused   McCabe and Comey of treason last year, and McCabe   was fired   last year just two days before his scheduled retirement. McCabe   is currently suing   the Justice Department and FBI for “wrongful termination,” alleging that his firing was politically motivated.

So why was he not convicted of these crimes? I mean, Trump's DOJ too busy chasing down already investigated BS?

That's a great question. I have no idea. No question about the referral. It was justified.

No action taken?
I guess we are all in the same line to get that answer.

Has he even been charged with a crime? No.

So in other words, it's just made up BS.

That's the problem with not acting on a criminal referral. You get the politically driven denial of wrongdoing!  Mr Barr please take note - you have to prosecute the guilty! They are not your brothers!

We're speaking of McCabe and company.

The Dems had 4 years to get rid of Trump. Still waiting.

List those fake news stories, please. Limit your response to 20 stories, in the interest of brevity.

*Note: The only reason many on the right think CNN is fake news is because a guy who has told 12,000+ lies in three years...said so.

List those fake news stories

Three CNN journalists, including the executive editor in charge of a new investigative unit, have resigned after the publication of a Russia-related article that was retracted.

Thomas Frank, who wrote the story in question; Eric Lichtblau, an editor in the unit; and Lex Haris, who oversaw the unit, have all left CNN.

"In the aftermath of the retraction of a story published on CNN.com, CNN has accepted the resignations of the employees involved in the story's publication," a spokesman said Monday evening.

An internal investigation by CNN management found that some standard editorial processes were not followed when the article was published, people briefed on the results of the investigation said.

The story, which reported that Congress was investigating a "Russian investment fund with ties to Trump officials," cited a single anonymous source.

These types of stories are typically reviewed by several departments within CNN -- including fact-checkers, journalism standards experts and lawyers -- before publication.

This breakdown in editorial workflow disturbed the CNN executives who learned about it.

In a staff meeting Monday afternoon, investigative unit members were told that the retraction did not mean the facts of the story were necessarily wrong. Rather, it meant that "the story wasn't solid enough to publish as-is," one of the people briefed on the investigation said.

The reporting about the Russian investment fund and Trump officials was not relayed on CNN's television channels, but it was published on the web and shared on social media.

On Friday, one of the people named in the story, Trump ally Anthony Scaramucci, disputed Frank's reporting and said, "I did nothing wrong."

Friday night, once it was determined that editorial processes were not followed, CNN deleted the story from CNN.com. Soon thereafter, the story was officially retracted and replaced with an editor's note.

The piece "did not meet CNN's editorial standards and has been retracted," the note said. "Links to the story have been disabled."

The editor's note also included an apology to Scaramucci.

So CNN retracted a story that was questionable and fired those responsible. If they were promoting fake news, why would they fire these people or even retract the story?

Exactly. Fox promotes their lying pundits. The bigger the lie, the bigger the promotion, that is until they get caught sexually assaulting co-workers.

I even linked CNN's own explanation of the story.

They had a pending lawsuit against them. I think that was the motivation rather than any new found virtue.

You can't unread or unhear after the fact. The damage was done and especially in the "Never Trump" club.

So we are now in a contest. I hurl all the CNN blatant examples of their failure at journalism at you and you intend to shoot each one down with your opinion of sources? CNN's ratings tell the tale. They are no longer trusted. Most damning was their promotion of the Trump conspiracy lie that was repeated for years.

Example:

"The Washington Post again fact-checked a CNN report regarding Trump on December 8, 2017: CNN ran a story that claimed two sources told the network that the Trump campaign received an email that gave Trump and his son Don, Jr., early access to WikiLeaks documents on September 4, 2016. CNN, however, had not obtained the supposed September 4 email. The sender was "Michael J. Erickson", who CNN was not able to contact. The Washington Post, however, did obtain the email, which showed that the email was actually sent on the day after the hacked documents were released by WikiLeaks on September 14, 2016."

I assume you accept the Washington Post as not being the "National Enquirer of Europe?"

Big deal, fox fake news hired Sarah Fuckabee Sanders who was PAID to lie, as a contributor. Not shocking at all. At least McCabe has some credibility.

Andrew McCabe: fired for lying to the FBI, caught by the Inspector General for unauthorized media leaks, and one of the ring-leaders in spreading the debunked and disastrous "Russian collusion" conspiracy theory.

Criminal referral pending.
