There’s A Reason Democrats Are Screaming About Conspiracies
conspiracy theory. It’s a term used to dismiss anything inconvenient to the left, and paint anyone questioning their orthodoxy as a loon. Believe, after years of anonymous sources leaking cherry-picked snippets of information to select Democrats in the media, that there is a group of people in the government actively working to undermine the Trump administration? You might as well believe the moon landing was filmed on a Hollywood soundstage. People lash out when they have nothing left...

Liberals always have a “racist” or “sexist” round chambered, ready to be fired whenever anyone says something in opposition to their will. Oppose a government takeover of the health care industry? Racist. Don’t believe Brett Kavanaugh ran a rape gang as a high school kid? Sexist. You name it, Democrats have a readymade retort set to go. Now, with their latest delusion – the idea that President Trump was using U.S. aid to Ukraine to force them to “manufacture dirt” against Joe Biden – they have added a new comeback: conspiracy theory.

People lash out when they have nothing left with which to make their case. For Democrats, that’s become so soon in a debate that an attack is often the first thing out of their mouths. For the entirety of the Obama administration, opposition to his policies and executive orders were denounced as racist so routinely the charge lost all meaning. Not believing the president of the United States could rewrite immigration law with the stroke of his pen (a position Obama held for years, right up until the point he did it) was not greeted with a rationale for the move but cries of bigotry.

The reason you can’t have a political debate with a Democrat is they have no basis for their actions and policies beyond they want them. The same goes for this “impeachment inquiry.”

Last week, the  Washington Post  declared “ Government-by-conspiracy-theory rides again .” In that piece, “national correspondent” Phil Bump decried any investigation into how the Russian hoax investigation came into being. He wrote that Attorney General “Barr’s efforts are in service to a sprawling conspiracy theory targeting Barr’s own organization along with other components of the U.S. intelligence community. In other words, Barr is asking foreign countries to dig around for evidence of malfeasance by U.S. agencies.”

After two years of “Trump is a Russian puppet” having been found untrue, Democrats have no business calling anything a conspiracy. They’d built up Robert Mueller to walk on water, that their dreams sank with his report pushed them over the edge.

The Russian hoax was the ultimate conspiracy, and it was perpetrated by Democrats. There wasn’t one journalist at these liberal outlets who’d even entertain the idea that the Trump campaign was anything but guilty. Discussions on cable news were not about “what if” it were true, they were about what it being true would mean and where it would lead.

The president was declared guilty, the impeachment cake had been ordered. It just turned out to be crow.

Without a beat, media Democrats moved on to the next attempt to destroy Donald Trump.

They thought they had him with Ukraine. A “whistleblower” used all the right buzzwords, the drool started flowing again. It just so happened that the words in the report didn’t add up to the words in the actual transcript of the phone call in question.

There are 540 words between “favor” and “Biden” in the transcript and, most importantly, the actual favor the president was asking for – Ukraine’s assistance in investigating Ukrainian attempts to help Hillary Clinton in 2016. If there was a hunger among Democrats to protect our elections, wouldn’t getting to the bottom of what actually happened the last time be a good place to start?

Nope, it’s a conspiracy. So is wondering how Biden’s drug-abusing kid managed to make a fortune from countries he had no background with in industries he had no experience in. And wondering how the Obama administration could spy on the Trump campaign under the guise of an unpaid advisor being a spy himself, yet that person never facing any charges whatsoever because he wasn’t a spy, is the same as believing aliens reside at Area 51.

Chuck Todd lost his mind Sunday when Senator Ron Johnson dared raise questions liberals don’t want the public to contemplate. “ I have no idea why a Fox News conspiracy propaganda stuff is popping up on here ,” Todd yelled before screaming down Johnson. Two CNN “ media reporters ” called Fox viewers and anyone who doesn’t subscribe to their worldview a conspiracy nut.

People with the truth on their side don’t have to work this hard to get people to believe them, they don’t have to demonize those who don’t. Liberals will still call you a racist/sexist/homophobe/xenophobe/whatever, but now they have a new arrow in their quiver. The only one they’re missing is the truth. That might be the biggest conspiracy of them all.

Articles like this are gaslighting and bamboozling, pure and simple.

Trump's crime is not imagining that Ukraine was the cause of all his problems in 2016 and 2017, although that is far fetched. His crime is abusing his office to get a foreign government to investigate his 2020 election opponent.

The writers of articles like this know that, anyone with half a brain knows that. But they are trying to confuse the easily misled, and trick people into believing trump was justified in his abuse of power. That is not the way it works.

You just reinforced the central point of the article. That being, the tendency to

dismiss anything inconvenient to the left, and paint anyone questioning their orthodoxy as a loon

I assume you want to persuade people, or you wouldn't express yourself here as you have. But the writer also advises,

People with the truth on their side don’t have to work this hard to get people to believe them, they don’t have to demonize those who don’t.

Have you considered that at all when you set about trying to persuade people?

I started listening to the audiobook version of a book that just came out today. The book is titled "Deep State: Trump, the FBI and the Rule of Law " , and it is about both the Clinton e-mails investigation by the FBI and also the FBI investigation into the Trump campaign.

James Stewart is a Pulitzer Prize winning reporter and tells the narrative with great clarity.

The FBI investigation into the Trump campaign , Operation Crossfire, stemmed from the bragging of George Papadopolous, not from the Steele Dossier, and proceeded because so many Trump associates and campaign aides had ties and connections to Russians. There was no conspiracy to get trump, it was the FBI doing it's job. Trump himself was never the subject of an investigation until he fired James Comey and then lied about it.  The book makes that very clear.

Stewart spent two years researching this book , talking to dozens of people directly involved. He has said in interviews that the right wing conspiracy theories are nonsense.

I just started the book. I'm sure it will be good.

Gee CH4P.  The only ones screaming 'conspiracies' are the GOPERS----of whom are the conspiracy.

This too.  As far as the Trump, the Trumpers and of course the Trumpetts, going back to the good 'Patriot Act meme'--you know, "Got nothing to fear if you got nothing to hide."  Right?

the idea that President Trump was using U.S. aid to Ukraine to force them to “manufacture dirt”

I have referenced or responded to this allegation multiple times over the last week to no avail. Even if you think Trump is delusional or just honestly horribly mistaken or misinformed about Biden, even if you think he is irrationally paranoid, there is zero evidence that he wanted Ukraine to manufacture dirt on Biden. He wanted a real thing investigated legitimately. That was very clear from the conversation. I have yet to see anyone on the Left acknowledge that.

"I  heard you had a prosecutor
who was very good and he was shut down and that's really unfair.
A lot of people are talking about that, the way they shut your
very good prosecutor down and you had some very bad people
involved.
...There's a lot of talk about Biden's son, that Biden stopped the
prosecution and a lot of people want to find out about that so
whatever you can do with the Attorney General would be great.
Biden went around bragging that he stopped the prosecution so if
you can look into it ... It sounds horrible to me."

That is not someone innocently asking for an investigation. But even if it were , Trump , as the president of the United States cannot ask a foreign country to investigate his election opponent. Period.  It is an abuse of his office as president.

I have no idea whatsoever why some of you apparently fail to understand this.

You're changing the topic. I agree Trump is motivated to care about this because Biden is a political opponent. And I don't mind talking about that, but it's not in the comment you are supposedly replying to. You are replying to the distinction between honest investigation and "manufactured dirt." Will you acknowledge that or not?

Indeed. They all hope to impeach and remove Trump before the IG, AG, and US Attorney all get to the bottom of what Hillary and Obama/Biden did.
