Biden Blasted the 'Absolutely Irrational' Texas Law That Allowed Lawful Gun Owner to Stop Church Shooting

Democrats want gun free zones so that more of us can be sitting ducks for a mad person. It is gun grabbers and Joe Biden who are irrational on this issue. Governor Abbot did the right thing.  The good guys with the gun is the best deterrent and last line of defense against these events

Two died in a  Texas church shooting Sunday  that could have been a lot worse had it not been for an armed guard who took the shooter out with seconds. There  were at least four armed churchgoers who quickly responded to the shooting , preventing what could have become a mass shooting from occurring.

But, if it were up to Joe Biden, those worshippers would have been sitting ducks. When Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed a law allowing lawful gun owners to carry guns into places of worship, Biden slammed Abbott and the law. “It's just absolutely irrational,” Biden said. “It's totally irrational." Biden also said at the time that “magazines that can hold multiple bullets” should be banned, which just goes to show you how little he understands guns because that’s what magazines do—hold “multiple bullets.” Nevertheless, Biden promised he would not compromise with Republicans on the issue.

Governor Abbott  signed the law allowing lawful gun owners to carry in places of worship back in September , shortly after a mass shooting in the state.

According to CNN, the new laws signed by Governor Abbott, in addition to allowing lawful gun owners to carry in places of worship, also allows them to properly store firearms and ammunition in their cars on school property and allows school districts to have more school marshals. It also allows some foster homes to have firearms, bans owners of rental properties from prohibiting renters from having firearms, and allows for open carry during a disaster.

The law went into effect on the first of September. It’s already saved lives.

And the Democratic "frontrunner," Joe Biden, blasted that law. Think about that.

In September, Democrat Joe Biden attacked TX Gov Greg Abbott for signing a law that let lawful gun owners carry guns into places of worship

Biden: "it's just absolutely irrational. It's totally irrational"

Today, a good guy with a gun saved countless lives inside a Texas church

Church Pastor Thanks Texas For Allowing His Congregation to Be Armed

West Freeway Church of Christ Senior Minister Britt Farmer expressed his gratitude to the state of Texas for allowing his congregation to be armed after a gunman attacked the church during one of its Sunday morning services.

The gunman was quickly killed by a security guard after the attacker fired three rounds from his shotgun. In addition to the security guard, video footage from the church showed at least five parishioners who drew their weapons in response to the gun shots.

The gunman was killed from a single shot from the security guard's firearm. Two church members were killed in the attack.

"First off, I want to say that I am extremely thankful to Lieutenant Governor and the Governor... Governor Patrick and Governor Abbott and their rapid response to this. To the law enforcement agencies that have been here, we couldn’t have asked for more professional, seamless interviews and work with our congregation and our people and the kindness that was shown to them by law enforcement," Farmer said during a press conference Sunday evening.

"We lost two great men today. But it could have been a lot worse and I’m thankful that our government has allowed us the opportunity to protect ourselves," he continued. "We have a congregation here with open hearted people. We help people. We’re here to help people and to have something like this happen destroys my heart. And when I say destroys, it destroys it because there is evil in this world. Today is one sermon I’ll never preach. It will go away. It’s called leaving a legacy. And two men today left a legacy. And the congregation is going to build on that legacy."

Typical of progressive thinking is the idea that regular people are incompetent to protect themselves and need either government or educated upper and upper middle class type people to solve their problems for them - especially when the regular folks are too stupid to realize they have a problem that needs solving.

Thus any attempt to empower regular people to protect themselves is dismissed as "totally irrational."

Nice sweeping generalizations.

This happened in my county.  This church has a security team. One member of the security team died trying to reason with the assailant.

The lead member of the security team shot the assailant as he shot the deacon.

No other members of the congregation were involved, but 7 or 8 drew their weapons eventually...

But at least we are on topic. jrSmiley_84_smiley_image.gif

Ok Split you want to play is Joe a dumbass? I will play.

1) The reason people pick out schools, churches, military bases (which is beyond stupid if you think any place would have armed security it would be any and all military installations), shopping malls, concerts, and other high density places where people gather is the lack of guns. When you don't have to worry about anyone shooting back it makes the chances of getting a high kill count much better.

2) When a man with a machete can kill five in a church with no guns; and a gun toting assailant with a gun can only kill two thanks to armed guards- you know you have hit a losing argument.

3) Biden is the king of stupid. If he didn't have a D behind his name the left would attack him as being dumber than Trump. Remember this Biden gem telling women to get a shot gun to defend themselves?

Maybe the attacker was meant to laugh themselves to death? Or the victim to hurt themselves first, so the attacker will take pity on them?

Nice sweeping generalizations.

They can be useful sometimes. My observation is rooted in knowledge of the actual history of both the original progressive movement and its modern incarnation. Sometimes the progressive impulse (which is almost always well-intentioned) works to the benefit of the people it seeks to help. Unfortunately, the "we know better than you" mentality doesn't always result in the best outcome - particularly when a progressive's mind is closed, as was the case with Mr. Biden

One member of the security team died trying to reason with the assailant.

I applaud his apparent desire to try to avoid shooting someone. It's unfortunate that such an approach didn't work out that time.

7 or 8 drew their weapons eventually

There's always going to be uncertain balance point between acting with too much restraint or too much haste.

What a great video. That is some timeless stupidity right there.

"Buy a shotgun" indeed! 12 gauge no less! Couldn't even think to recommend a 20 gauge for the woman?

The true intent of progressives. You cant take care of yourself, you need me. So self absorbed. Its so much worse with minorities because they often truly are dtsring from the bottom. Maybe they forgot that diamonds are made from high pressure

Have we gotten so bad that people feel the need to take guns into church?  Considering what just happened will other states follow cue and allow it also?

Texas had a shooting a year or so ago where over 20 died and that one was stopped by a neighbor intervening with an AR15 or it too would have been worse.  Why is it that secular progressives would rather see us die in the pews we sit on or while cowering under them rather than see us protect ourselves with our own legal and constitutional self defense tool(s)?  That is the real question.

Both you and tacos make good points, but it just hurts me to my heart seeing these kinds of violent episodes happening almost daily with little rhyme or reason.

Mine too. Many churches including mine offer food, water, blankets, jackets, hygiene and toiletry items, coupons and vouchers for free services in the community, etc. but not cash.  I would hate to get shot for helping another in need.

Apparently, but that's hardly the fault of the people carrying the guns into the church. Unless a maniac comes in and tries to murder people, no one is going to be bothered by all the guns in there.

Yep.

Mr White was assigned to keep close to Kinnunen.  Mr Wallace was handing out Communion. They thought Kinunnen stood up to receive Communion.

Mr White can be seen reaching for his gun.

Jack Wilson is already moving from left to right with his weapon drawn (off screen)
